  1. That is pretty much universal. You would have received same answer in most offices including CW.
  2. Have the family take her through "fast track" immigration desk. They will be fine
  3. Only required to be valid to cover period of stay for immigration at arrival in Thailand. However the airline may have their own rule re "valid for minimum 6 months.
  4. They don't need to show anything. Cash in any currency equivalent to 20k in total would be sensible as a family. The airline at departure from Germany may ask for proof of onward/return ticket. There are options to cover that. They don't need to show hotel reservations. Having address of a hotel a good idea. How long is the holiday in Thailand
  5. Yes. No problem. Note : the reentry permit will expire same date as your current permission of stay
  6. He can return straight away. That also applies to folk that decide to just exit via airport pay overstay fine and reenter. A short stay out of Thailand would be good idea. Regarding enter visa exempt any issue would be down to his history of semi continuous time spent in Thailand with visa exempt and tourist visas. I'm pretty sure that immigration will let him pay overstay and apply for 30 day extension
  7. Here is a thread with some comments regarding insurance for extensions from a non O-A based on retirement or marriage
  8. @Pib think it's ridiculous that your extensions were not grandfathered. Insurance is not possible for many older folk expats living in Thailand due to exclusions for pre existing conditions. The policy in some cases becomes a moot point.
  9. It's a common change to based on marriage for the very reason of no insurance requirement as outlined earlier. Kalasin doesn't have much to do with it. It's not about logic. you seem to suggest it's about logic and individual offices. No
  10. Brilliant. @Red Phoenix asked me for link to rule. I could not find one. Thanks for clarification.
  11. Indeed. Excellent option prior to introduction of insurance requirement. Strange how (I think) Phuket immigration has grandfathered non O-A prior to certain date. The other 70+ offices did not.
  12. Just to use my own reentry permit as eg. I obtained prior to my expiry of current permission of stay which is Nov 8. The stamp pic below shows reentry valid till Nov 8 2023. I subsequently left Thailand and returned.
  13. Yes. Be aware that few Thai consulates require an appointment. Example Vientiane, Saigon etc
  14. Reentry expiry date will be same as current permission of stay date.
  15. Got a link for that? As far as tourist visa Vietnam currently only provides single entry 30 day tourist visa. The 3 month multi was taken off the table since start of covid.
  16. I assumed incorrectly. So really it's just been last several months. So you still have 2 visa exempt entries via land borders in pocket this calendar year. That's 4 months with extensions. Have you considered sending some time outside of Thailand. USA citizen requires visa for Vietnam but ripper joint. Improves chance of less hassle at airports.
  17. Multiple entry is available. No problem.
  18. Multiple and single entry both available at airport. 1000 and 3800 respectively
  19. Yes. Apart from the number of setv,s its important as to amount of time spent out of Thailand. You mention covid ... In the last 2-3 years how long have you spent outside of Thailand.
  20. You may have a problem with both of those options. You are suggesting quite a long continuous stay using tourist visas and visa exempt entries. Looking for another 12 months + on the back of a METV.. Some will suggest a non ED ....
  21. Both work fine. For me it's a no brainer... If you don't obtain one at time of extension then the airport is a winner. At BKK airport you apply zone 2 just after security and prior to immigration They will do the form etc for 200b service fee. I prefer to do it myself and take to airpport.
  22. He won't be asked to show an onward flight by airline at departure as he will have a visa. Nor will immigration on arrival ask to see onward flight.
  23. Just to be clear seems that you have a 12 month extension and reentry permit. As for the TM30 rubbish it's also beyond me. However your office is not the only one that is playing games.
