Re entering Thailand with a re-entry permit
DrJack54 replied to Adiudon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Think you will find the extension stamp has different # to reentry permit. In any event if arrival card is required then put the # that is written on your reentry permit. BTW always check the admit till date on stamp as you are leaving passport control. -
At Suvarnabhumi they provide a service to fill in form photo etc. 200baht. I prefer to do it myself. TM8 with photo. Photocopy photo page. Most recent entry stamp Current extension stamp. 1000baht single and 3800multiple reentry permit. The office is located just past security check and prior to passport control. Zone 2.

Non Immigrant 'O' based on Retirement.
DrJack54 replied to DoctorB's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Use an agent. Should be more like 3k. Try Siam Legal if in Bangkok -
Check out attached thread. Vietnam hasn't been clear in the recent times. In this thread there is a guy towards the end that has personal experience. It would be very good option so worth checking out. The 109 yellow bus takes you quickly to district 1 from airport... 20k dong. Stay Bui Vien area. The Thai consulate is handy to that area. Some countries are able to enter with visa exempt.

Extend visa on arrival
DrJack54 replied to Tractorboy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes you can. You require 400baht in Thai bank account in your name on day of application for non O marriage. You also need 15 days remaining on your entry stamp. (21 at some office). Hence you need bank account very quickly. Be aware that your 30 day visa exempt entry can be extended by 30 days if more time required. The non O marriage gives you a 90 day permission of stay. In the last 30 days with the 400k having been in the bank for 2 months you can obtain a 12 month extension. -
You have not complied with financial requirements. The reentry permit will allow you to be stamped in till end date for current permit. However your application for next extension will be rejected.
-
You will not be able to obtain extension based on retirement as you have not met the financial requirements. One option would be to exit Thailand without reentry permit and return visa exempt and start the process over. Be aware that a non O with extension based on marriage has far easier financial requirements.

Just to be clear my earlier post outlined a visa exempt entry via air followed by visa exempt entry via land border. Back to back visa exempt via air are sometimes questioned by over zealous immigration staff. It would be rare to be questioned if you had a tourist visa. So your short trips to Singapore were visa exempt entries via air and you were questioned at BMK? Bit rich imo.

Changing stamps to new passport.
DrJack54 replied to Vatman's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just obtain the new passport. Be aware that waiting time for Oz pp has increased..... Explain to immigration office that your embassy does not provide "letter" .. No sure but think Oz place stamp in pp that requests/allows immigration to transfer stamps and any relevant visa information. Immigration also has their own "form" -

Agency in Thailand for general matters
DrJack54 replied to lostintransit's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your question is too open ended. Yes for items such as bank account an agent can organize that easily. Siam Legal is one company but there are many. Depends where you would be based in Thailand. As for staying in Thailand there are many options. The most important thing is length of desired stay.
