  1. In that case I would suggest a tourist visa for Thailand obtained in Vietnam. Saigon great joint and consulate close to district 1. Also very simple transport to airport. The TV will stamp you in for 60 days and you can extend that by 30. After that land borders will be simple and you can do 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year via land. etc.
  2. IMO if flying into Thailand visa exempt I would opt for CNX. The Thai consulate in Saigon is good office. You can obtain a tourist visa easily. Drop off AM and pick up PM next day. How long would you like to stay in Thailand?
  3. I think the OP is obtaining his 2 yr TDL, requires a medical and RC.
  4. Hey Guys, Hopefully some one can suggest simple solution. So the situation: Need hip joint replacement and cannot go to bank. I have used Wise to transfer largish amounts previously to my Kasikorn account. It does not have an ATM card. I also have a savings account with Krungthai bank however Wise can only transfer 50k max per transfer. I need 400k. My partner of 10 years (not married) is not listed on my accounts She has an account with Bangkok Bank which is a bank that can transfer 400k baht easily. I don't really follow what Wise will require. Obviously name of account and account #. In Oz we have what's referred to as BSB #. Think her bank account has office#. Perhaps there is a simple option I'm missing. I once paid a big bill using my Oz debit card. Never again.
  5. Not really the point I always make deposit and update on day of application as CW prefer it that way. I always ask the banking clerk to please photocopy the last page showing this activity in account. However I do the other pages myself. They are not my secretary. Be prepared.
  6. To open bank account with Bangkok Bank generally you need a residence certificate from immigration OR letter from your embassy. Note my reference to CW above that for RC, CW require you to have made 90 day reports. This is issue for folk on eg tourist visa or visa exempt.

    Termites

So with everything it was 100k. However that included work on roof and some electrical etc. All done in 5 days. I'm happy with the team.
  8. Thankyou for your advice. I agree normally would come on over time . I certainly did not strain it in any way. No small fall nothing. The x-ray showed clearly spurs on the left side. The pain has gone down to more of a discomfort level, however pretty annoying. Walking (baby steps) to the toilet is about the extent of my mobility. Even that is in hunched position and life left leg with arms to shuffle. Old age is such a joyous reward. Ha.
  9. A report of the process would be helpful to others.
  10. You could consider another option other than non O-A. It's a dinosaur
  11. First up thanks for all your help in the various forums. Yes it's the left side only. In my thinking the x-ray was quite clear. Yes I am self funded. As many would confirm ...it's a very painful gift. Currently can only walk very short distance in a hobbled state. Pain significant. I appreciate your suggestion of a second opinion. However given my situation not simple. I personally have added consideration that the doctor only touched on briefly. At the same hospital I have been seen to for 2 DVT and pulmonary embolism over last 4-5 years As a result on anticoagulant. The doctor had a guesstimate of 350k. If anyone reads this and can advise on their personal recovery steps, that would be appreciated. Thanks Sheryl.
  12. Note my post was specific to CW. Your address is on file from a 90 day report. It's just not on the receipt. As I stated you cannot obtain a residence certificate in CW without a 90 day report. BTW, I did not provide a TM30 at CW.
  13. You need to obtain a residence certificate from your imm office. Jomtien? The health check is simple procedure done by most clinics. Especially those near transport office. Forget about embassy option
  14. You often require a residence certificate from immigration or letter from your embassy. Which imm office do you deal with.. Attached is residence certificate from CW. You will most likely receive better advice in Thailand Motor Forum
  15. Yes a common topic and I did read past threads. Being a very common operation for us elderly, I was hoping for feedback from anyone with first hand experience. Today went to Phyathai 1 hospital with the typical symptoms. In my case it came upon me very quickly and had never had any pain etc in the past. So the prognosis is hip joint replacement. At this point don't have much idea of cost, however guessing 350k baht a ballpark figure.
  16. At CW the main thing that they want for residence certificate is 90 day report. You could obtain a screenshot of the TM30 from your landlord. Perhaps not even required.
  17. You will be given the remaining 45 days. It's a given. Just return on the date indicated for your final stamp
  18. Thanks for report. So bank statements not required and just photocopies of bank book pages. Same as CW. You were bit lucky that they photocopied them for you. TM30 was this required or you just supplied it and and they accepted it? Money in bank method clearly straight forward option.
  19. TM7. cost of extension 1900baht.. You do not need to show funds came from abroad for extensions
  20. Back in the my days of obtaining tourist visas for Thailand in Saigon thai consulate, I was always required to show a flight into Thailand. Hard copy.
  21. Travel with both pp. At some point attend immigration where your visa information will be transfered. What is your current visa. Are you on extensions from a visa.
