Retirement Extension Renewal: Jomtien
DrJack54 replied to dddave's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ignore it. You will still obtain your next extension when you apply in a year. -

They could always just do as Australia did to France. "We don't want that anymore. We had change of heart"

Sounds like one of those beauty pageants where every chick answers "world peace" when asked what they hope for. -
TM30 24 hour after returning still?
DrJack54 replied to clivebaxter's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The clerks issuing queue tickets and check docs often know very little. Sounds like this may be MTT. BTW .....in my 10 years here I have never done a TM30. Even when I obtained a residence certificate. -
TM30 24 hour after returning still?
DrJack54 replied to clivebaxter's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your summary is correct. Never heard of updating your TM30. -
Please stop as your statements are incorrect. Most posters cut slack and do not pick folk up on incorrect terms, however for some reason you continue. Visas cannot be extended PERIOD. Your thread concerns a non O visa based on retirement. That is a single entry visa (can be obtained inside Thailand from tv or visa exempt entry) The permission of stay granted from that visa can be extended. Those extensions can be ongoing. Here is a pic of a non O based on retirement. You will notice the word "used". Your stamp obtained inside Thailand will look different but still the same.

If you are returning with a reentry permit you are not required to file TM30. That would be required if entering with new visa or visa exempt. Edit: OP, just noticed you did not specify return from o/s or just travel to another province. You do not need to file a TM30. That is now for change of address. -
Don't even know what that refers to. I've posted reference to recent reports of success re-enter Thailand with 30 day insurance and stamped in for date matching reentry permit. You mention contradictory advice. From who and surely that's not the post above with red circle. Please. You earlier stated ..... "I was told here that I needed coverage for the remainder of my visa extension".... Told by who? BTW You state ..... "I notoriously get the full treatment when entering (and exiting actually) and don't want to give them any ammo". What on earth does that mean. The OP heading is about returning with existing extension (reentry permit). Why do you get the "full treatment"

Haven't ever seen that. Required for non O retirement but not for non O marriage.
