Samui Immigration and Income Affidavit
DrJack54 replied to oldmanstan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I was not referring to bankbook update. I was referring to "bank letter". Bank letter can be obtained prior to day of application. If that's not the case in Samui then fine. -

Enter prior to Jan 3 to obtain another 60 day stamp. That 60 day permit can be extended by a further 30 days at local immigration office -
Extending a visa-exempt entry
DrJack54 replied to NanLaew's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Most folk apply one or two weeks prior to expiry of 30 day stamp. The 30 day extension is added to expiry of your current stamp. Be aware some strange offices eg Jomitien, sometimes send you away and tell you come back when closer to expiry. -
Retirement extension paperwork required?
DrJack54 replied to giddyup's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Definitely. I deal with CW and do it pretty much when window opens 45 days early. As most are aware the 12 month extension is added to expiry of current permission of stay. Zero gain by waiting till close to expiry. -
Which immigration office will you use? BTW you cannot apply for the non O retirement until you turn 50. Here is a thread that explains process from visa exempt entry stamp to non O retirement https://aseannow.com/topic/1311886-visa-exempt-to-retirement-extension-process-and-cost/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1325238-procedures-for-non-imm-o-and-one-year-retirement-extension-from-a-visa-excempt-30-day-entry/

Samui Immigration and Income Affidavit

Seems various immigration offices have moved towards requiring bank statements. This happened to me last extension at CW. I had couple of months with zero activity. They wanted me to provide 12 month bank statement. Fortunately Kasikorn could that on the spot. BBL cannot. Dial me up an agent! -

Using funds in bank method you would require 400k in bank seasoned for 2 months prior to application and maintain that for the under consideration period. After that the funds can be used. Regards the "bank certificate" that is simply a statement from bank that you are the owner of the account. Best to obtain that on day of application (if possible) also make small transaction to show activity. Your bank book should be sufficient to show the seasoning of the funds.
