  1. You had one year (according to you) to organize departure within your current permission of stay. Irresponsible
  2. So with all this time (1 year) you ask about 7 day overstay. Oh please.
  3. I omitted one option in my first post. He could (maybe) do border bounce for another 30 day visa exempt entry. OP is thin on information
  4. What visa type. If tourist visa it was used when you were stamped in. You have temporary permission of stay. Overstaying 7 days would be 3500b You pay on departure at airport. Not a big deal however you will have overstay stamp in pp To avoid that you could attend immigration and application for extension will be denied and granted 7 days to leave. It's not an extension. It's a get out of dodge. Assume you have used 30 day extension. Obviously you need stay VERY low when enter overstay.
  5. No. 90 days after First application for extension. After that extension has nothing to do with 90 day count . Note: there are few weird offices that do 90 report when you apply for extension.
  6. I would suggest that majority of retirees have established strong connection in Thailand, be that partner of things such as real estate etc Changing countries is not a light switch
  7. Don't doubt your account. By way of contrast that has never happened to me even as recently as this week. Kasikorn Bangkok
  8. https://aseannow.com/topic/1330998-extension-requirements-60-day-extension-based-on-marriage-to-thai/
  9. Cannot comment on how helpful Roi Et will be. Seems you have the dates worked out. If you hadn't applied for non O marriage I would have suggested a non O retirement. No under consideration period and no ongoing home visits.
  10. Yes many countries receive 30 day stamp. (think you UK) Oz and USA folk require an eVisa which is also 30 days.
  11. In another thread marriage issues outlined. Perhaps a good reason to stick with based on retirement. Divorce invalidates permission of stay.
  12. Yes it's vague. Here is cut/paste from ubonjoe post. In other threads I have read as little as 5 months. "Immigration will normally waive the requirement for proof it came from abroad if the 800k baht has been in the bank for a long time already. They put the transfer from abroad for a non-o visa application since there is no 2 months requirement. That was done to prevent people from borrowing the money or getting it from a friend."
  13. Not if the funds have been in Thailand for some time. In the OP,s situation the funds would have been in Thai bank account for a year
  14. Thinking "TM30, House book , and landlord ID" + receipt for one month rent should be sufficient given First application for extension. Re home visit immigration will/should ring day prior to home visit.
  15. No such rule. That is from Siam Legal and not correct information
  16. It's a Thai thing. By way of contrast, I can apply for multi entry eVisa for Vietnam from anywhere. No flights, accommodation details etc etc
  17. A METV can only be obtained in home country or country where you have permanent Resident status. Some threads discuss/ask ways to apply for METV (eVisa) while not in your country. Not good idea..
  18. It is possible. Banks should accept a certificate of residence however this is not possible at CW as that office requires you to have made a 90 day report to obtain COR. One solution is to obtain a non O outside of Thailand and some banks will open a bank account based on non O. Also some folk use an agent to open a bank account. Approx 5k. However in recent times notice some agents not doing this in Bangkok. Previously Siam legal provided this service and currently not.
  19. You are over thinking it. For annual extensions (retirement) using money in the bank method. Agents can do both assist you with you satisfying the financial requirements and also bypassing the financial requirements. The former we refer to as "hand holding" Of course you can do it yourself. May seem daunting however it's not really difficult
  20. You guess incorrectly. For the 12 month extension the 800k needs to be in the bank account for two months prior to application for extension. The non O eVisa you obtain in the states will mean on entry to Thailand you will be stamped in for 90 days. As for transferring funds from home country to Thai bank account... WISE is a popular option.. When applying for non O retirement in Thailand you need to show funds came from abroad. For annual extensions that is not required using funds in bank method
  21. If you file the TM47 online it will be rejected because of the TM30
  22. Of course. The financial requirements are checked retrospectively. As I posted earlier...one option is to border bounce without a reentry permit and start over obtaining a new non O from visa exempt entry.
  23. That is incorrect. Obtained passport renewal couple of months back. Was not dependant on living in Thailand. The whole process was done via mail to my embassy in Bangkok. Very simple process.
  24. It did not. Currently you receive 30 day visa exempt entry via air and land border
