Why not have separate bank accounts. What is current status in Thailand. For wife to piggyback on your extension she needs to obtain Non O from outside of Thailand. Piggyback explained in this thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1348696-question-on-under-50-wife-getting-a-non-o-visa/

Assume you are referring to Bangkok. That's good to know. Would be nice if including your pp with application was not required. No idea why it is required. Think CM has been via mail only for some time.

Is border run visa illegal?
DrJack54 replied to Valuepeace's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Trolling post removed. -
OP, correct answer above. You mention that you have a Thai bank account with 400k baht. Assume that you are aware that you can enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain a Non O (Thai spouse) at your local immigration office and subsequent 12 month extension. Obtaining a Non O eVisa in UK also good option. Some do that to enable opening bank account in Thailand, however you already have one so either option no issue.

DTV and 5-year driver's license
DrJack54 replied to moana's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm not so sure. Bit off topic. I just recall a light coming on in peripheral and you indicate. Not colors. In any event...... Discussed here. https://aseannow.com/topic/1190035-renew-5-years-license-no-peripheral-vision-color-test-where/ -
Is border run visa illegal?
DrJack54 replied to Valuepeace's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do not follow. So you entered Thailand visa exempt. Why did you go to immigration to "report your stay" Do you mean TM30. How long have you been in Thailand. What do you mean "visa run" Assume you mean border bounce for 60 day visa exempt entry. Why did io suggest Non O retirement. So you are over 50 (obviously) Perhaps you have extensive history in Thailand -
DTV and 5-year driver's license
DrJack54 replied to moana's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I about a year ago renewed 5 yr TDL. The first test was color. Then others such as foot break test etc.... Then peripheral test. I was not good on that. Did it couple of times (I'm old fella) Then she said "good enough" Gotta love Thailand -
Have you actually assisted a Thai national to obtain visa to Oz with or without agent. If so please post experience.

@wozzlegummich I have personal experience in doing this many years ago. Without agent. It was not difficult However you have not been involved in your thread. Good luck.

Retirement extension
DrJack54 replied to Negita43's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes TM47 and TM7 same as previously TM7 form. https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/4.คำขออนุญาตเพื่ออยู่ในราชอาณาจักรเป็นการชั่วคราวต่อไป-ตม.7.pdf Note: any immigration two page form eg TM7 print out as double sided. Obviously the forms available at immigration. I prefer to go with all forms filled in TM47 form.... https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/Form-TM-47.pdf -

So if I follow. You obtained your TDL in CM with a work permit address in Bangkok. No certificate of residence. -
Retirement extension
DrJack54 replied to Negita43's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Extension can be applied for up to 30 days prior to expiry of current permission of stay. So yes do the TM47 same visit. Note: do the application for extension first followed by the TM47 -
Etiquette at CW immigration
DrJack54 replied to Nowaythatsreal's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That would work. Some BBL customers obtain a 6 month statement at 6 months after application for extension and another 6 month statement just prior to attending immigration for new extension. Regards your other point. Customers can obtain 12 month bank statement if located in Bangkok in approx 3-5 days. Couple of extra days if up country.. Keep in mind CW will accept bank letter and bank statement up to 7 days prior. -
Walk INS not permitted for non essential purposes. Perhaps you friend was lucky. Noted here: https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/acsappointment/ Link specifically states appointment required.... "Appointments are REQUIRED for all non-emergency services and are only made via the website, not by email. Please review the information below, and note that if no appointments are available online, it means we have no appointments available" (Caps not mine)

Any reason for not wanting to do it via mail option. Several threads on that. In person application you require an appointment https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/adult-passport-renew/

Etiquette at CW immigration
DrJack54 replied to Nowaythatsreal's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The thing is immigration will want to see bank book AND 12 month bank statement. For example.....in my case I had been (for years) using two accounts. An FD + Savings account. I closed out the FD account and teller kept the closed Bank Book. I foolishly allowed that. So fast forward to Nov 5 last year for my extension. I provided two Bank Statements. One for the closed FD and one for the Saving. Immigration wanted the bank book for the FD, which I didn't have. They weren't having a bar of it. Eventually the head io at rear of L office OK it after some chit chat. -

DrJack54 replied to Nowaythatsreal's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Sorta lost track of what your asking. You need to show immigration 12 month of bank statements dating back from date of application for next extension. That sometimes involves another bank account. I have seen first hand the io checking my bankbook to look back to the two months previous to my last extension application date. -

Don't think it's worth worrying about. For example a certain immigration officer has good look in bank book back to months prior to last extension that there may be an issue. That is why eg I suggest even opening new bank account for those that exit Thailand and start over. In any event you have the funds in bank and shouldn't be a problem to obtain extension If for some reason there is a problem just border bounce and start over. Hopefully not required.. -

Some immigration offices also want 12 month bank statement. For sale of 200b cost it's a good idea. Immigration can be fussy. In my case at CW I had couple of months with no activity. Immigration demanded 12 month bank statement. This often happens with those that use a dedicated bank account for immigration purposes. No problem as I use Kasikorn and could obtain on the spot.
