Appointment at CW immigration
DrJack54 replied to FridgeMagnet1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
So no rude .."this is your last one" "Where is your flight out" etc Good result. Perhaps someone had a word to that bombastic io. Or maybe you just dodged a bullet. -
Can I enter CW without my passport?
DrJack54 replied to BKKTRAVELER's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What times the appointment? Your there for covid extension if I recall. Hope no poor attitude from io. Good luck. -
Tourist visa question
DrJack54 replied to milldav's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Hey Red. Just for anyone reading. I once was flying x Melb to Saigon. Had a visa for Vietnam, however only had 5 days remaining. I had a flight out of Saigon to Bangkok couple days later. I had to show Jetstar that flight in order to obtain boarding pass. They were out of line. -

You have a visa. Airline will not be interested in flight out. -
Returning from the UK options
DrJack54 replied to Joejoejoejoe's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Don't understand your question. This from the OP..... "assume my current 'visiting wife visa' is not multiple entry so that will expire when I leave." OP is correct. When he exited Thailand with no reentry permit his non O is dead. He can enter visa exempt and obtain non O or obtain new Non O in UK. -
Keep money for 3 months after extension
DrJack54 replied to EricTh's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Don't stress about it. Not important. Attached is couple of my random 90 days reports. It's always the 28th. Of course 90 day multiples will not land on same 28th date. Same as the 3 month thing being referred to as 90 days by Jomtien. It's simple. Leave money on bank for 3 months minimum post extension approval and do 90 day report according to the due date provided. -
Keep money for 3 months after extension
DrJack54 replied to EricTh's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Nup. 3 months from date you apply for extension. An example is Jomtien wanting you to return 90 days after day of application to show bank account. Stupid requirement but just demonstrates the 3 month gig. -
Best way to stay 59 days
DrJack54 replied to lorrilee61's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You didn't require an onward ticket. Many do. Your post again pointless.. -
Best way to stay 59 days
DrJack54 replied to lorrilee61's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Every time I mention visa exempt entry I do not add the rider that onward ticket is often/usually required. If the op follows up on visa exempt option then posters would point out the onward flight requirement. Also small added details such as extension particulars etc. -
Can 90day be done in different province
DrJack54 replied to Eleftheros's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My apologies. Completely mis read the OP. He actually did his TM30 in Rayong. I read too quickly and was thinking that he was considering it. -

@KannikaP confused? You need to maintain the 800k in the bank from the date you obtain your extension. In my example above, I obtained obtained extension Nov 2. I need to maintain 800k in bank until Feb 2. After that I need to maintain minimum level of 400k. Back up to 800k two months before my next application for extension. The 8 Nov date (my permission of stay) has nothing to do with the money in bank dates/requirements. -

Correct. BTW the print/copy stall on lower level can do it if anyone overlooks that requirement. You forward them the confirmation email and they print it out. -

DrJack54 replied to lorrilee61's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That's not what the person you quoted was talking about. She was outlining how to have stay of 60 days. The onward flight ticket that the airline requires was covered by ubonjoe post. Correct he will require an onward flight to show check in airline staff to obtain boarding pass. -

DrJack54 replied to lorrilee61's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, as ubonjoe pointed out ..your schedule was clearly outlined. So you have time to choose the visa exempt vs tourist visa option. To small extent the covid extension decision would give extra security to the visa exempt option in the knowledge that if your return date becomes a longer stay then covid extension is available. -

DrJack54 replied to lorrilee61's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP you didn't mention your departure date. Your options have been outlined above. On Tues 25 we should know of Thai government decision regarding continuing covid extensions or not. If continued you could travel knowing all bases covered. If indeed your trip is exactly 59 days then a tourist visa good option. We all do what suits personal situation. -
Yep. Think I've become bit over sensitive about what's required. A very experienced poster that does excellent reports ...included on his list "bank statements" required at CW for retirement extensions. Next thing is it becomes fact (in some folks minds) they they are required. The immigration officer accepting a document does not necessarily mean it's required. However we all tend to go fully armed just in case.

Keep money for 3 months after extension
DrJack54 replied to EricTh's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's from the day you apply for your extension. I think some places ask you to return the next day to pick up pp. In any event your 3 months basically starts from the day you attend immigration to apply for your extension. Here is my most recent extension. I attended on Nov 2. The 3 month money count starts from then. -
Keep money for 3 months after extension
DrJack54 replied to EricTh's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your date of extension due remains the same. The extension is dated from end of your current extension. The 3 month money thing is unrelated.. -

Or let's assume he is on Koh Samet and needs a return ferry trip plus taxi. The OP has his options. I have advised him of one. -

DrJack54 replied to Eleftheros's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He would need to do TM30 in Rayong and then do a TM30 when he returns to Bangkok. Yes possible.. Sensible No. BTW: don't take 2 words from my post and quote. -

3 months from day of approval. Clearly most people would include a buffer. -
