Can I change from marriage to retirement.
DrJack54 replied to OneeyedJohn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My query about which office was to another poster. In any event your not alone in your frustrations. It seems daily posting similar to your experience all involving income method. I guess it suits many. Personally can't understand it for marriage extensions as thinking their money in bank method very simple. Ultimately depends on your imm office. Some use income method without issue. I'm Oz so yes income method for USA , UK and Oz became bit more difficult when the income letters ended. I use money in bank for retirement. It's a breeze. -
By all means you can pursue that. I live here and have annual extensions. Not that long ago I wanted to open FD account with Bangkok Bank. They wanted residence certificate or embassy letter. BTW my embassy does even supply that. Be warned that obtaining that from embassy in Bangkok can take time. A residence certificate in Bangkok required a 90 day report, which you would not have. Even then that certificate can take up to 2 weeks from MTT. Bangkok Bank also wanted something from my Oz bank. Complete joke. Use an agent.

Just the 2 months prior. Note if you were previously using income method for your marriage extension then those requirements would have needed to be followed. If it was money in bank for marriage then just 800k two months prior to your application for extension retirement. -

That is correct. Not sure what a under 50 year old would do in that situation. Those 50+ could jump onto retirement extension when current marriage extension is due. -

Love it. Will use that saying. -
Covid extensions due to end Jan 25. Few reports from both CW and MTT re immigration officer doing bit of rant about "this is your last one" etc. Haven't seen report of anyone refused due do no outbound flight. Go Monday. If outbound flight required buy one from "onwardflight" from net. $12usd. Some io are being AH.

My understanding is that is a standard requirement. -

You have the correct advice from ubonjoe above. Be very clear...the 800k must have been in the bank for 2 months PRIOR to day of application for your extension retirement. Then the ongoing requirements as per uj post. -

What is your original visa. If non O-A you will require insurance for extensions retirement. If non O you will not require insurance. As for the switch to retirement you would need to show 800k in bank for 2 months prior to application. What method did you use when marriage extension? Money in bank or income method? -
Mental note. Don't visit any of those areas even to use toilet.

Must be a joke. Too subtle for me to see it. -
I didn't realize that you had the tourist in the bag so to speak. Changes things a little. I would obtain the TV. Buy a reentry permit at the airport when you fly out to Dabui. When you reenter your stamp date will be till your reentry permit date. Before that expires you will obtain a 30 day extension. During all this period you can try and organize your non O education. As I've mentioned several times I believe covid extensions will continue and that 60 day extension would be enough to organize the rest and better option than ED. You would need to be organized. You can always do a snap wedding and have a flash one later. To be honest I didn't even look at your video for bank account. (will later out of interest) Using an agent for this saves time and effort. Check with Siam Legal or any visa agent. Best of luck. Edit: so I watched your video re opening Bank account. As you can see the guy had numerous knock backs. Didn't even bother watching till the end. Even things such as embassy letter that he mentioned all takes time. You don't have that. Use an agent..plan in advance and you can get that straight away. BTW you certainly don't need an account with a credit card as in video. First part of video re exchange currency.....yes SuperRich Green is the best. Not to be confused with SuperRich orange.

What did you organize regarding your financial requirements to change back to retirement. -
You missed this from the OP.... "They went to the Immigration and they have been told that it is not possible to have the covid extension for this type of visa...." OP, think the immigration office (rightly or wrongly) know that they had the option to obtain 12 month extension. Which immigration office? Bit of messing around but I would try different office. If the have outbound flight take ticket along and plead the case that only need another month. Last resort is to use agent for 12 month extension. They have a non O so only need the extension approx 15-20k

Rightly or wrongly the tennis players have seemed to have turned up the heat on him. Think they are sick of questions about the situation. Their ain't many slams. (Is it 5) This one has so far been spoilt. Big swing in public opinion seems to be since it's now clear that mistakes (on purpose) on his entry declaration. In Oz we call that a lie. For heaven's sake the guy has a team with him. Whole thing is a scam. Even questions about his positive test are in doubt. Such a magnificent record and now in many eyes has tainted it. Pity really. What's that saying....."make your bed...."

Yes I had a read of this thread when I saw similar symbol in Thailand. Think it's tied up with Thai religion.

Personal funny moment for me. I was about to reply that my religion is DGAF. Thought no one will know what I'm talking about. Had no idea thats a well known meme. From Google.... "abbreviation Slang. don't give a ****: to not care at all (a euphemistic initialism used to indicate an indifferent or unbothered attitude, without explicit vulgarity): The old me cared, but the new me dgaf.

How about fags (cigarettes). Do they sell them? Currently I'm on Heineken Zero. Guess that's no on the "clean" list either.
