You don't need to move to Pattaya in order to use an agent. -

Has the Covid extension been extended?
DrJack54 replied to pineappleglory's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Immigration most likely will make you obtain the standard 30 day extension prior to any covid extension -
Chaeng Watthana Retirement Extension trip
DrJack54 replied to ThailandRyan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If possible can you post your experience after your trip Monday. List of what the io required useful. For those using money in the bank method, I have found that pretty much first thing they want to check is bank books for correct requirements. I always hand those along with the letter and bb pages photocopies. -
Retirement Extension Cancelled- What options
DrJack54 replied to fangless's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thats correct however currently not possible. His best option is to use agent for this extension (approx 15k). For the next extension after that have the funds in the bank for the whole year prior according to requirements, then obtain following extension without need for agent. -
Retirement Extension Cancelled- What options
DrJack54 replied to fangless's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, given current situation with borders etc you would need an agent. I realize you posted "apart from agent" however the only way would be to exit country and start over with a new non O -

Why look for bypass. Obtain non O retirement in own country if available. If not then enter on tourist visa and obtain non O in Thailand. Subsequently obtain 12 month extension based on retirement. Extension cost is 1900 baht. You will need 800k in Thai bank account or use income method. To open Thai bank account quickly use agent to assist with bank account. If you can't afford that then don't relocate. If the plan is only to stay year or so then an option of agent is possible. Extension based on retirement cheapest.

You will require covid insurance for period remaining on your current stump. You will also require 400/40 health insurance. You will need to obtain a reentry permit prior to exit. Can be done at immigration or airport. As for COE that's changing (Thailand pass) and you would need to keep up with what's required at date of your return.

Came in from USA visa on arrival
DrJack54 replied to schultzlivgthai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You stated this .... "A couple of years ago I flew USA back to my home in Pattaya after an extended absence and didn't go to the IO till aprox 3 months later." TM30 is now not required to return to your home in Pattaya. If you change your address in the future you will need to do a TM30. -
Came in from USA visa on arrival
DrJack54 replied to schultzlivgthai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is no longer required. If returning to your residence a TM30 is now not required. Previously was required for inter province and international travel. No longer necessary. -
Came in from USA visa on arrival
DrJack54 replied to schultzlivgthai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
When someone enters Thailand they are given a stamp that has untill date. In the case of tourist visa that would be 60 days. The covid insurance needs to cover that period. Subsequent extensions do not require covid insurance. -
In other words no more 90 day reports required.

O-A visa Health Insurance
DrJack54 replied to Alphim's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good plan. Depending on when your current permission of stay ends you could consider doing one more extension with the required insurance. In time when land borders open the border bounce and enter visa exempt would be easy option to obtain your new non O. -
Chaeng Watthana Retirement Extension trip
DrJack54 replied to ThailandRyan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's a main bug bear of mine regarding the different requirements at the 70+ immigration offices and sometimes even different at the same office. Whenever someone asks a question about attending immigration for whatever ... The first question that folk trying to help ask is .."which immigration office are you dealing with" It's a joke. You would think that there would be one set of requirements that would be a standard for each and every office or at very least list for each office. So just in this thread alone we have posts of TM30 required and 90 report required along with reports of not being required. Hells Bells. -
