  1. It has glaring disadvantages that will make it a "second-choice", EV being first choice. Fuel cost for one.
  2. Vinny, you are confusing price reduction with depreciation. Do you need a lesson in the difference?
  3. Toyota say they are going on all new fads, don't buy a car now as we have a better solution in the future. It's Mythware.
  4. With engineering successes the fuel may come down to only be 4 times more expensive than fueling a BEV. Do you seriously think people will go for that?
  5. However, in Thailand they don't. I'm trying to buy a second hand ORA Good Cat for my youngest daughter, they are just too expensive.
  6. If you compare any vehicle to price cuts, yes indeed. If you compare it to current RRP, or any EV that hasn't been subject to price cuts, there is no difference between EV and ICE depreciation. Those cars that had their price cuts some time ago are holding up identically to ICE. Depreciation is a complete non-issue in Thailand. Nonsense, who wants to pay 5 times more for fuel. Not going to happen. Toyota is doing nothing more than spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt), whether it be Hydrogen, Water Engines, Ammonia Engines, New Revolutionary joint-venture engine efficiency it's all nonsense. Toyota have experimented with Hydrogen cars in both USA & Norway, both were a failure. If we had H2 filling stations all over Thailand, I would still choose EV every time based on running cost.
  7. You're joking about depreciation right?
  8. We've covered Hydrogen, it's failed, too inefficient and too expensive for fuel.
  9. I occasionally order from WinePro, it's not as good value as VinesToVino but they occasionally have a good deal.
  10. I buy most of my wines here, 3 cases Temporale ordered last night. My favourites are those from La Reguta vineyard in Italy, Temporale & Carant in Red and Prediale in white. I don't care for the Altro Passo red.
  11. The best handling EV I have driven is the MG4, a racing category for that would be interesting
  12. I can't decide whether it's ignorance or jealousy, I suspect the latter. If you can only afford a 20 year old stickered up BMW or a Celery or a certain part of your anatomy is yellow, that would explain it.
  13. My aged lady friend can't charge at home, it didn't stop her buying an MG4 X-Power, she charges at PTT/Amazon about every 6 days and enjoys the coffee there. Not being able to charge at home is inconvenient, but it's not a show-stopper for owning an EV depending on your life style. I think one of the reasons EV's drive so much better than ICE is the ultra low Center of Gravity and that they are a heavier car. Every heavy car I have owned has always driven better than a light car.
  14. You did, I recall it, tests were done on Tesla batteries.
  15. I usually spot scams a mile off, this one almost got me. I got a message from a friend from my University days, he's still a sporty type doing marathons, cycling and fell walking. The message asked me to do him a favour, later he told me he needed 9 more votes to win a fitness competition and would I vote for him. He sent me a link to the competition which looked genuine. It led to a login page asking me to choose a microsoft account or a facebook account. Choosing the facebook account asked me to sign in, backing up and choosing the microsoft account led me the windows screen asking for my credentials, there was the usual link to other methods besides passwords, except it wasn't a link, it was just blue text. Clearly, he had already succumbed to the same scam and this was the scammer talking to me. I tried to report it to Facebook, there wasn't a suitable option, I did what I could and they wrote back saying they took no action. My friend created a new Facebook account and messaged me, I said "I know why you're contacting me, your account has been hacked?" We had a laugh about it, he told me they wanted $500 to release his account. I reported it again to Facebook this time giving a link to both profiles saying which was the real one and again they replied saying they had taken no action. This probably the most realistic scam I have seen.
  16. Let me explain the lifetime battery warranty to you, in one word, ADEQUATE.
  17. That is truly worrying, take me out and shoot me first please.
  18. You are turning into Transman again
  19. He has a problem with numbers.
  20. Just for the creative EOW, the graphic actually commenting on MARKET SHARE I think this is what you mistook my last graphic for Oh, what is this I see? Could it be that Toyota's market share has dropped by 34.8% first 6 months of this year to same period last year? By Jove, love a duck, oh my giddy aunt, it certainly is. What an inconvenient fact @ExpatOilWorker wouldn't you say?
  21. It's normal for LFP batteries to drop quickly early on and then slow down the rate of decline enormously.
  22. You don't have an MG, and you're not a caring type No caring, No sharing
  23. I only share with caring types
  24. You are welcome to go and ask MG about their lifetime battery warranty, I have and the terms are ok with me.
  25. Pish & Tosh, EV's are more than 11 times LESS likely to catch fire than an ICE vehicle. Stop buying into conspiracy theories.
