Beer is chock full of carbohydrate. Drink whisky or rum, with or without a zero sugar mixer. Spirits have next to no carbohydrate, carbs are what stacks the weight on. The term "beer gut" was coined for a reason.

I am saying your response to the offense is completely out of proportion. What would you do if your child groped a girl, castrate him? Crime statistics are full of examples where physically abused children grow up to be abusive themselves. My logic is based on that fact.

How important is a routine for you
Lacessit replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I am a creature of routine, and enjoy it. I feel uncomfortable when my routines of exercise and food choices are disrupted. -
Having enough money to last the rest of my life makes me happy. I don't need the fastest car or latest smartphone. All I want is something reliable. I can't remember the last time I wore a watch. As another poster has noted, giving to someone less fortunate than myself makes me feel good. If I was to win the lottery, most of it would be given to the people I love. Flying business class would be enough.

Given the hyperactivity you display in posting, I'm surprised it had any effect at all.

Sexual harassment is important, so is good parenting. Do you think it's good parenting to teach a child excessive violence in response to a minor infraction is acceptable? Your post makes me think you are not fit to be a parent.

IMO the OP is not depressed over nothing. Something in his life needs changing. I was depressed about 40 years ago, the result of an unhappy marriage. I was taking a tricyclic anti-depressant for about 20 years. I stopped the medication about 20 years ago. If the OP is depressed because of his work, he should seek new employment. Medication may help; however, it usually has undesirable side effects. It's a matter of identifying what is causing his depression, and eliminating it.

Trump decries federal ‘fascist thugs’ despite judge’s warnings
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It's quite ironic Trump calling his prosecutors fascists. Given half a chance and the next election, he would be ordering another Night of the Long Knives. -
All you can eat/drink hotel buffet recommendations.
Lacessit replied to bamboozled's topic in Chiang Mai
Siripanna near Gymkhana Golf Club had a good buffet for 399 baht pre-Covid, alcohol purchased separately. Thai food, cake and ice-cream dessert. The other one I recall is a German buffet, Auf Der Au off Lamphun Road. 299 baht, heavy on German sausages and pork. -
Not interested in packing fudge, irrespective of gender.

Having been under anesthesia more than a dozen times, there is nothing there. No consciousness of time between being sedated, and waking up after whatever surgery was done. Everyone is different in their reaction to anesthesia. My best guess is the people who have out-of-body experiences are imagining scenarios when unconscious, or when their hearts have stopped. Science has explained the bright light seen by many dying patients in terms of increased brain activity. That can be measured, subjective experiences cannot. https://www.jpost.com/health-and-wellness/mind-and-spirit/article-741912

Do you really think drugs should be legalised ?
Lacessit replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Alcohol removes inhibitions, it then depends on what inhibitions are being removed as to what reactions ensue. -

The nicotine in tobacco gives a temporary high. By the time a cigarette, cigar or pipe is finished, carbon monoxide and other toxins in the smoke offset the high. It's why just one cigarette is never enough. -

Plenty of thieving, rape and murder in Muslim countries, where alcohol is banned. -

Absolutely true people who have miserable, impoverished lives will use any substance which helps them out of their situation. Also true bored, spoiled people will do the same. Three cups of coffee. You sound like a junkie yourself. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3777290/ -
The Memo: Judge scrambles election with decision on Trump trial date
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If Trump were innocent, he and his lawyers would want the four indictments dealt with as soon as possible. His desperate delay strategy relies on getting re-elected so he can pardon himself. Or institute authoritarian rule. The Trumpers' claim the justice system is weaponized is total BS. Trump was indicted by grand juries composed of a cross-section of ordinary citizens. The grand jury system is designed to indict only when there is strong evidence of a felony. It's not as if Trump does not know his way around a courtroom, prior to becoming President he was involved in over 4000 legal actions. Pretending he is a victim won't fly. The judge is indicating the trial happens in the courtroom, not on social media. Trump's political campaign is secondary, as it should be. Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of this saga is the willingness of supporters and craven politicians to countenance the election of a convicted felon to the office of President. Moral vacuity is inadequate as a description of their conduct.- 136 replies

Do you really think drugs should be legalised ?
Lacessit replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It is illogical to criminalize other drugs, when alcohol is legal and the cause of considerable violence. Most of the evidence supports legalizing illicit drugs, crime rates go down, legal drugs are less expensive and far less likely to be adulterated. The only caveat I have is anyone who commits a crime under the influence of drugs get the same standing in law, and the same sentencing, as someone who is stone cold sober. -
It's a moot point whether Australia or Thailand have more as a percentage in that category. Selecting only expats in Thailand, if you prefer.

Why Green Hydrogen is not so Green
Lacessit replied to JBChiangRai's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Feeling hotter is a subjective attribute. The Pilbara in Western Australia has temperatures regularly exceeding 40 C. However, because humidity is low at 10 - 20% RH, it's quite comfortable. OTOH, Darwin at 30 C and 95% RH is really uncomfortable, because one's body can't cool down with sweating. The world's oceans are already producing more rain, the result of average sea temperature rising by about 1.5 C since the Industrial Revolution. Higher humidity would cause more molds and fungi infestations in crops. Ireland's famine of 1845 - 1849 was caused by potato blight, a form of mold. Carbon dioxide requires 5.1 atmospheres pressure to become liquid. Methane's boiling point is -161 C. We are in deep doo-doo if either condition occurred naturally. While water vapor is responsible for roughly 60% of greenhouse effect, its time in the atmosphere can be measured in days. OTOH, CO2 and methane stay in the atmosphere for periods ranging from years to centuries. -
Why Green Hydrogen is not so Green
Lacessit replied to JBChiangRai's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Carbon dioxide and methane are both gases. Water is a liquid. Water vapour cannot exceed 100% humidity, any excess would condense out as rain. Of course, the hotter it is, the more water can be present as vapor. -
Why Green Hydrogen is not so Green
Lacessit replied to JBChiangRai's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Most of the hydrogen being produced currently is made by cracking methane ( CH4 ), which results in even more CO2 emissions. If governments were really serious about addressing climate change, they would subsidize or incentivize households to have rooftop solar panels, with a storage battery of about 12 kWhr for when the sun does not shine. Instead, the world seems to be fixated on EV's, with storage batteries of 60 - 100 kWhr, to transport virtue-signalling <deleted> on their excursions. As 70% of power stations still burn fossil fuels, it's an exercise in futility. Simple math says there is less demand for lithium by equipping 5 households than one EV. Simple math says households which go 100% renewable subtracts demand for electricity, EV's don't unless they are sourcing their electricity from the same rooftop solar. -
Denial of Aussie pension
