Phuket Tourism Worries Mount Over Climate Change Impact
Lacessit replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Aviation accounts for only 2.5% of global CO2 emissions. Electricity is 40%, land transport 25%. I doubt John Kerry's proposition would stand the pub test. Relax. -

I guess events like Helene and Milton are all part of the scam. -

Out-of-date pie chart, the current CO2 concentration is 0.044%. Another poster who does not understand thermodynamics, I won't bother arguing with you. Perhaps you prefer this explanation: -
Are Older Men in Thailand Trading Love for Financial Ruin
Lacessit replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
35% of my assets are in Thailand, under my control. 65% are in Australia. The 35% will go to my Thai GF when I cark it. It's in her interest I stay alive as long as possible. It's also in her interest we stay together. I would take some kind of financial hit if I was refused an extension on my visa. Otherwise no. -
Words sentences that are offensive
Lacessit replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
One post says you are old, and triggered by climate change. Sorry, thermodynamics does not care about your opinions. The next says you are bedding 3-5 women a week. Being old and bedding 3-5 women a week does not compute. Does the term bullsh!t artist offend you? -
Please don't go, your village will miss you.

I never complain about bad food in a Thai restaurant. I leave it, pay, walk out and never go back. OTOH, I have a memory bank for restaurants who do the right thing. Below is chicken in black pepper sauce at Timothy's, a Thai restaurant that does Western dishes. Salad and chips. IIRC 179 baht.

Thailand is my aged care plan. My Thai family will take care of me when I can no longer do so. In Australia, aged care consists of being shoveled into a nursing home to rot, with food a dog would turn its nose up at, attended by overworked and underpaid carers. I know a guy in Chiang Mai who is 93 yo. He is going blind. His Thai GF ( 60-odd ) helps him with everything, and will be well provided for when he dies. I don't understand expats here who refuse to learn any Thai. Life is so much easier, even with a basic vocabulary.

Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
You are correct in saying the number of expat pensioners is insignificant. However, IMO the bulk of pensioners would certainly disagree with that restriction on their liberty IF they were made aware of the issue, given no other Western nations would do so. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter etc. is something politicians of every stripe are increasingly wary of. -
Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
Not quite - the ballot box is a deterrent, and people of pension age are a reasonably large voting bloc. IMO the measure you put forward hypothetically would result in considerable backlash. -
Banking service???????

If there has been no activity in the account, IME the passbook machines won't print a new balance and date. -

Reading about what happens to them in later life - it's not good. -
Phuket Tourism Worries Mount Over Climate Change Impact
Lacessit replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Not necessarily. A tipping point, such as decreased albedo in Greenland, or a release of methane from clathrates, could trigger changes taking place in years, instead of decades. We have already passed the point where changes were taking place over centuries. -

Are You A Sexpat Or Do You Ride The Backwards Morality Train?
Lacessit replied to 123Stodg's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
There are women everywhere on the planet. It's the availability and attitude which makes the difference. IMO Thais are the most cheerfully promiscuous people on Earth. They just don't have the same hangups as other nations. -
Are You A Sexpat Or Do You Ride The Backwards Morality Train?
Lacessit replied to 123Stodg's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
True. However , I don't have a fetish for blondes, or large women. To me, Agnetha Faltskog looks like a carthorse. Big bum, thighs like tree trunks. Not my cup of tea at all. Not having met anyone from that part of the world, perhaps you can tell me if they have the same sense of entitlement as American, UK, and Australian women. I made poor choices with two Australian women. I've made a good choice with a Thai woman. She takes care of me better than any Western woman ever could. -

I actually have a photo of BritManToo's wife, which I have not shared with anyone. If someone tells me anything is confidential, it stays that way. Why would I feel better or worse? I don't envy other people, I am content with what I have. My GF is not beauty contest beautiful, but she is 42 kg of cute. BTW, IMO BMT's wife is a stunner. IIRC she is ex bar-girl. -

It's very rare women are NOT supported financially, either in Thailand or otherwise. It's just considerably less expensive here. If I had 1000 baht for every keyboard warrior claiming to have "game" or whatever term is used w.r.to women, I'd be driving the current 7 series BMW. Or Tesla, in a bow to the EV enthusiasts. But keep on meeting these tens, and knocking them back. You've already excused yourself from posting photos as proof.
