7 Types of Used Cars to Avoid in Thailand
Lacessit replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
You are probably right, my LPG experience was in Australia. Had two vehicles there with LPG, AFAIK they are both still going. -

One of the most tedious and boring forms of football ever invented.

Normal time 6.30 am. If golfing, 5 am, hitting off at 6.30 am to avoid the heat. If I take a Codiphen or amitryptiline to get a full night's sleep, 8.30 am.

How many here on the Farang Pub hope to die in Thailand?
Lacessit replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I don't care where I die. I would like my ashes spread on a golf course. Although in Thailand, that might spook golfers. Alas, I have lived too long for this to happen: -

There is nothing wrong with LPG, provided it is properly installed in engines with hardened valve seats. IME such engines will last just as long as one fueled by gasoline. CNG is a different matter. Cylinder head temperatures approach 600 C. In addition, 25,000 psi storage pressure means the vehicle has to cart around another 100 kg of steel tank, and said tank has to be pressure tested every year before registering. IMO any cost saving is offset by the above factors. -
Thai Baht is ruining my retirement

The baht fluctuates against other currencies. I wait until it is weak, then make transfers. -
You obviously don't want to participate in a national guilt trip. TBH, neither do I.

It depends on who is doing the talking. James Earl Jones, Sam Elliot and Morgan Freeman are pleasant to listen to.

Scots, Welsh and Irish. I do find the American accent quite irritating occasionally.

I doubt the Aborigines would agree with you. Cook was British, born in Yorkshire.

Given the number of white people who are anti-vaxxer, anti-mask, anti-fluoridation climate change denying MAGA conspiracy theorists, I'd say emphasis on the scientific method was thrown under the bus a long time ago.

Putin has repeatedly stated he wants to restore the Soviet Union to its former "glory". Which was an empire that went right up to East Germany. Why do you think most of the European countries who were formerly part of the Soviet bloc fell over themselves in their haste to join NATO? Why do you think neutral Finland and Sweden applied to join NATO after Putin invaded Ukraine? Simple answer - they prefer democracy over Soviet domination. The proof of the pudding is in their economies, which have thrived since they shed the Russian yoke. You are utterly delusional if you think Putin will stop at Ukraine. He won't stop until he is dead or defeated.

I am posting facts. If you don't like them, I have others. 80 - 90% of tour professionals use Titleist golf clubs and balls. Fact. The golf clubs in the photo you posted are NOT 1970's. The head size on the driver is incontrovertible proof of that. You are wrong, but just don't want to admit it. That in itself lacks the class you are so desperately seeking.

Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
AFAIK all public hospitals have emergency departments. There are quite a few private hospitals that do not. It's not Medicare's fault when emergency departments get clogged up with deadbeats who go there with minor ailments, because they can't find a GP in their area who bulk bills. Where private health cover is superior, is in the absence of wait lists. I had surgery for an inguinal hernia within two weeks of landing in Australia. In the public health system, I might have been waiting for 6 months. I can remember a few years ago having all the symptoms of a heart attack ( It wasn't ). My son drove me to the nearest public hospital emergency department. I was hooked up to monitoring equipment within 5 minutes of getting there, stayed overnight for observation, no charge. -
I don't see Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Tom Watson or Gary Player in that list. You need to keep up, Titleist is the staple golf club used by modern-day professionals. Followed by Taylormade, Callaway, Srixon and Ping. You'll find Mizuno in the golf bags of Asians. Wilson's glory days were back in the sixties, along with you and me.

IIRC Europe has not done very well trying to appease dictators. If you think Putin will stop, once Trump has given him Ukraine and pulled out of NATO, you're delusional.

Selling price $100,000. 200 grams of gold at current price $17,200. Probably made in China. Not even a half-wit would buy one, surely.

You will have to do better than that, if you are attempting to gaslight me. On topic, Australians don't put much stock in class. We leave that to the Brits, who are possibly the most class-ridden nationality on the planet. I am somewhat bemused by Americans who staged a revolution to escape the clutches of the British Crown. Now they fawn on every dysfunctional sprog that crosses the Atlantic for a visit.

Wilson x31's are rated as a beginners' set. If you paid big bucks, someone saw you coming. Perhaps you tried to play, were unsuccessful, hence your posts. It's a very common reaction of people who lack hand-eye co-ordination to call the game silly. I also suspect you are fibbing with the photo. You say you bought those clubs mid - 1970's. The driver head is quite clearly 460 cc. That head size did not come into drivers until the late 90's. and was regulated to a maximum of 460 cc by the USGA in 2004.
