JD Vance Faces Pivotal Moment in Vice Presidential Debate
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Does that not raise the question of why Trump himself cannot effectively defend his record? IMO Vance lost all credibility when he evaded the question of whether he thought the 2020 election was stolen. -
Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
Lacessit replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
He has no assets in Australia, and gets the OAP. -
Yeah, it's a crying shame wild-assed conspiracy theories from dark web links can't be posted by any wingnut. We are being deprived of the opportunity to observe how abjectly stupid some people are.

Feel sorry for AN posters who bought electric
Lacessit replied to Celsius's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Nobody seems to be asking the question what happens if an EV gets flooded. Perhaps our EV owners can comment on the potential for electrocution. -

Carbon capture and storage is an exercise in thermodynamic implausibility. AFAIK there is not a single CCS facility which is operating to its design parameters. Even one of the CCS's most vocal proponents, Professor Tim Flannery, has admitted the technology does not work. CCS is a scientific hoax, like Piltdown Man and cold fusion. The fact billions have been spent on it does not make it any less of a con by the fossil fuel industry. -

I have been living in Thailand for over ten years. One of my Australian friends has lived here for the same time. Neither of us has been taxed on our OAP in that time. -
My GF cuts my hair for me. It's not complicated as I am 90% bald. She also trims my toenails.

The cost is actually 150 baht, I tip 50 baht because I am not a Cheap Charlie obsessing over a few baht.

7 Types of Used Cars to Avoid in Thailand

Hail? In Thailand? -
I could understand if they were looting for food or cash. Something of value. Looting Trump shlock reminds me of Einstein's aphorism about the universe, and human stupidity.

Thailand is good value for money. Examples: House in Australia 20 million Baht. Equivalent house here 5 million baht. Rent here 10 K baht/MONTH. Equivalent rent in Australia 10K baht/WEEK. Car registration in Australia 16K baht. Here, less than 2K baht. One hour massage here, 200 baht. In Australia, 1500 baht minimum. Not just value. I don't know of too many other places in the world, where I can enjoy a GF who is 23 years younger than me. Anyone who has a brain can negotiate Immigration requirements quite easily. Perhaps the OP's brain cells don't stretch that far.

We have had thunderstorms and heavy rain in Chiang Rai all morning. It's quiet now. -

You are probably right, my LPG experience was in Australia. Had two vehicles there with LPG, AFAIK they are both still going. -

One of the most tedious and boring forms of football ever invented.

Normal time 6.30 am. If golfing, 5 am, hitting off at 6.30 am to avoid the heat. If I take a Codiphen or amitryptiline to get a full night's sleep, 8.30 am.

How many here on the Farang Pub hope to die in Thailand?
Lacessit replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I don't care where I die. I would like my ashes spread on a golf course. Although in Thailand, that might spook golfers. Alas, I have lived too long for this to happen: -

There is nothing wrong with LPG, provided it is properly installed in engines with hardened valve seats. IME such engines will last just as long as one fueled by gasoline. CNG is a different matter. Cylinder head temperatures approach 600 C. In addition, 25,000 psi storage pressure means the vehicle has to cart around another 100 kg of steel tank, and said tank has to be pressure tested every year before registering. IMO any cost saving is offset by the above factors. -
Thai Baht is ruining my retirement

The baht fluctuates against other currencies. I wait until it is weak, then make transfers. -
You obviously don't want to participate in a national guilt trip. TBH, neither do I.

It depends on who is doing the talking. James Earl Jones, Sam Elliot and Morgan Freeman are pleasant to listen to.

Scots, Welsh and Irish. I do find the American accent quite irritating occasionally.

I doubt the Aborigines would agree with you. Cook was British, born in Yorkshire.

Given the number of white people who are anti-vaxxer, anti-mask, anti-fluoridation climate change denying MAGA conspiracy theorists, I'd say emphasis on the scientific method was thrown under the bus a long time ago.
