Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
LosLobo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Together with this, the failure to secure Bakhmut for Putin for his 9th May Parade and the sole rusty T-34 tank, I suggest that Putin has now become the laughing stock of the world and more hopefully his Russian supporters. -
Jury finds Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in civil case
LosLobo replied to Scott's topic in World News
Saying that Trump is appealing is like stating that the Pope is a Catholic. Yes its not finished yet but I am mainly referring to E. Jean Carroll vs Trump 2.0 which alleges defamation when Trump was President. And there is the other 26 odd cases of legal jeopardy pending. Trump Investigations: A Rundown Of All The Lawsuits And Cases Involving The Former President (forbes.com) As an aside, surprisingly when asked about George Santos and his recent indictment for sexual and election misconduct, McCarthy said that if he is found guilty he will ask him to resign. That is my policy and principle on this. I wonder the same bar will be set by him for Trump. Rep. George Santos charged by Justice Department in federal probe | CNN Politics -

Jury finds Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in civil case
LosLobo replied to Scott's topic in World News
Trump was not convicted of anything, he was found liable for sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll and she was awarded $5m. This was not just because of accusations but also because of his sexual predator modus operandi, et alia. -
Really it depends where you live. I used to live in Phuket in a house about 50 metres from the beach so very high humidity, something which easily promotes mould. The only way I could guarantee stopping it was by leaving a ceiling fan on and by leaving room doors ajar and windows open a little. But you have to be careful that rain will not get thru windows. I of course turned the water off. De-humidifiers do work but need to be plumbed for drainage for long usage and can use a lot more power than just a fan. I did live in an apartment in Phuket Town away from the coast and left it for a month with all windows locked. When I returned it was full of mould particularly the mattress. Maybe what didn't help is that after I turned the power off, cleaned out the fridge and left the door ajar there may nave been some condensate in the drip tank at the back of it. I think activated charcoal may absorb humidity but when saturated it needs to be dried in an oven. Pandan etc are only deodorants that mask the smell of the mould.

RIP Ubon Joe - ASEAN NOW visa expert
LosLobo replied to Rimmer's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ubon Joe was a legend in his lifetime and the Book of Knowledge on Thai visas. Over the years he personally helped me with expert advice on many occasions. When I moved to a new province, he was always there with the local information on that particular region along with its peculiarities. I passed this information onto others who no doubt did the same so it was not the thousands here he helped but certainly exponentially many more. His passing and this forum's fitting tribute makes one question the meaning of one's existence and how it could have been improved by followed his fine example of dedicated community service. He will be sadly missed. RIP Joe..... -

Preferences because of good feelings I can relate to. I very much doubt that four metre ceilings in a house in a small village, likely in rural Ubon, with surrounding 60 yr old run down houses, will increase the sale price one baht. Building the best house in the street is never a good investment anywhere.

It is common knowledge that the wait times on 13200 are over the top. Don't think I have ever been queried about why I am calling on the Complaints line. In fact most of my queries are valid complaints as I do most of my interaction with online thru Mygov with Centrelink, as is the OP's query to find out why the approval was taking so long. When I first applied for the pension I personally went to the Centrelink office and submitted all of my required documentation in person. Most of that was subsequently lost. Then I posted it as quested. My application was cancelled as Centrelink had lost it again. Resolution took days mainly waiting to get thru on 13200 and eventually was only done thru the Complaints line. I had to go thru the same waiting process again to find that the application had been approved. But the start date had been changed due to time I took to finally submit the application. I won an appeal against the pension start date but they failed to implement the result for six months until I complained after trying to get thru on 13200 for days. I have called 13200 many times only to get the run around by untrained staff. Recently I had to call and ask why my online asset adjustments had not been processed and 13200 did not have a clue. Only by calling Complaints did I resolve the issue. I suggest that I will not get blacklisted as I have enough complaints to justify my actions. NB Complaints line staff are very experienced and have level 3 approval to make decisions. -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
LosLobo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Putin's is almost certain that it must have be Ukraine because all of his Russian enemies have mysteriously fallen from windows or have been poisoned. Though the story may just all be propaganda to garner sympathy from Russians and to justify his missile attacks on innocent people in Ukraine. -

IMHO, I would suggest that this minor concession from China and India will help give them a better face to maintain some relations with the West and lessen any possible US sanctions. US has already started with China and Ukraine has recently called for sanctions on India. China protests US sanctioning of firms dealing with Russia | AP News On the other hand, they have nothing to fear from Putin, as the two both have Russia literally over a barrel , an oil barrel. As, they are the major purchasers of Russian oil and are responsible for funding the Russian economy and therefore the war, Putin will be silent. -

When I want to call Centrelink when I am in Oz, I call the complaints and feedback line and get a direct line to senior staff who know what they are talking about. Of course, I always quickly call the other line first so I will have a complaint! -
There was no hurry for Putin to invade Ukraine when Trump was POTUS and so he played the slow game. A lot of US policies under Trump had been 180 degrees from the past, possibly with the influence of Manafort, past advisor to Putin's henchman Viktor Yanukovych, ex Ukrainian President. Trump's pro Putin agenda was evident by him having : sided with Putin not the FBI at Helsinki, opposed Montenegro for joining NATO, opposed the EU, diluted assistance to Ukraine with his perfect phone call, pulled out of Syria leaving it to Russia, pulled out of Open Skies, the nuclear arms control treaty, didn't call out Russia for bounties on US servicemen, didn't call out Russia for various poisonings, planned a death blow to NATO by a total NATO withdrawal for his second term, et alia. But when it was clear that Trump had lost his grip on US policy and Biden started reversing it, there was no longer any point in waiting. So Putin began planning the next phase of his genocide of the Ukraine people, possibly slowed by COVID. Opinion | Why Didn’t Putin Invade Under Trump? It Wasn’t Personal. - POLITICO. 4 things to remember about Trump, Ukraine and Putin | CNN Politics

It is not 'amazing', this is the result of you turning this once respectful and informative forum into a divisive dog's breakfast, obviously just to sate your own schadenfreude. A good analogy to explain the reason for your obviously zero credibility on this forum is Aesop and his fable "The Boy who cried Wolf". In the fable the boy only cried "wolf" three or four times, your 362 times is beyond the pale. -

The Russians will have a dangerous and busy job with reparations, 'the ones that sow (the mines) shall reap the harvest, Galatians' 6:7–9. Evidently there is a protocol when placing minefields, to mark and record them for later removal. Failure to do so considered a war crime. -

With respect, I suggest that this is only your interpretation of the ATO rules. Perhaps you could post some links and elaborate some more explanation to support your post? Especially, "people in this cohort are not required to pay any tax, no matter their place of residence". Your assessment seems confusing in the light of this article from ATO. What is the tax treatment of Australian age pension when living abroad? | ATO Community It would seem that only the SAPTO @ $2k is applicable, so tax would still be payable if you were deemed to be a non-resident unless there are other reasons for your statement. And also what is your interpretation of the word "proscribed" used in your post's context. -

IMO, weight, battery life and functionality are key student requirements. I recently bought an Acer Swift X, similar specs to M2 MacBook Air but at a much cheaper price. Swift X - เอเซอร์ (ประเทศไทย) (acerthailand.com)
