Specifically the Post at Central festival CM refused to post both letters and postcards on August 22 - a week ago. They were handing out forms from the Thai post which states " it is necessary to suspend all international mail services to the United States of America from 22 August 2025, onward until further notice" Nothing in that letter mentions letters or parcels - specifically it states "ALL INTERNATIONAL MAIL SERVICES"

Failing to get an appointment through the online system has been an ongoing problem for two years. However, turning up at 5 30 AM is a ancient pre–Wuhan Flu stuff. Turn up at 130 in the afternoon midweek – The outside kiosk will check your documents, mark & initial with date, so you do not have to get a new bankbook copy of a deposit/withdrawal (but ask them about that to make sure!) You may or may not get a slot that afternoon. That afternoon kiosk check is relatively fast and should not take more than 30 minutes, If nothing is available that afternoon, you will have to be there, at the outside kiosk, the next day by 830 and put docs in the pile which will then call your name and give you a ticket. Then you go to the inside desk and they recheck docs and give you a number. Basically, two and a half to three and a half hours. Bring things to keep you entertained. Note you could go to outside kiosk at 8 or 730 or ... but all you do is put your papers in a stack. You will have people putting theirs lower in the stack etc & agents who just come in and get served first so no real advantage to queuing up early. It is a mob but not the early morning madness of times past BTW, It is widely assumed that visa agents are the ones making online appointments and choking out the system for everyone else. As people, when they do not give get an online appointment, will likely go through an agent. They’re just making business for themselves. What could be more Thai?! If you do go by agent, post up your experience. Hope it all works out..

Reconstruct, and he could sign for me. But will wait for now. Not referring to the delivery of the mail to my condo. ---- FWIW refers to sending it back. After having to send multiple responses in the past, I assumed it was US mails fault. However, CM, FBook posters have complained about cards, mail, sent back to euroland, very little arrived, & that to different counties. I make copies of the ss7162 form, in case I get the follow up letter. Then send multiples.

CM - Stopped at my old Condo this morning and there it was. Woohoo! Came in last Sat, they were going to forward it tomorrow. FWIW - US postal service is not good. However do not underestimate how bad the Thai post has become.

Good on you for making a complaint. I put all the information about this fun little event/transaction & emails, in a word doc, stored in my SS folder. I'm obsessive like that. However at the end of the day, just sucked it up and did the new appointment, gritting teeth. It is such a long process, this was the proverbial frosting on the fricking cake. They did it to me. As last appointment of THEIR day, when I finally called back, after waiting diligently for their call, they were gone. I got back in touch days later & made made a new appointment, two or three weeks down the road. They apologized and claimed they had the wrong number. Strange, as they had called me up to verify the number, and appointment, two weeks prior to that failed online interview. They had the correct number then. I do not believe one word of the bull---- excuse they gave, but, what you going to do. Not surprising that the Manila office is up to their old tricks.

Why not bin them, then go down to a Computer store and buy a couple ... Thumb drives, SD cards, External storage devices, whatever you desire. Not one of those has ever failed me. If you are worried about cheap Chinese items then do not buy via online shopping. Not that this is a bad way to shop, just you will have a higher % chance of getting defective crap items. Currently my music, movies, pictures, are stored on a number of 1T SSD San Disks, with another copy for redundancy sake, on a Seagate 7T Backup Plus hub.
