  1. Silver gloss paint is what Thai builders use on galvanised no etching required, other than that Red (lead) primer stops rust dead in aerosols or tins, have used both on various jobs. Just had a closer look at photo both of the paints i suggested will work, as its not structural, no need for 'fancy' paints IMO.
  2. I heard a rumour the crane operator refused to go as he didn't want to be attacked by wild animals.
  3. So much missing from this story Did they have Snipers with dart guns at the ready to down the Dangerous animals as protection for the officials, and was it raining ????
  4. If you have to stay in BKK i can recommend a hotel only 12 min walk away from the OZ embassy, I stayed there on Mon, whilst for some Expensive at 1,500 worth every baht has everything you would expect for a 5* place even a full kitchen 50'' tv and 32'' in the bedroom. AT EASE hotel. you can book on-line and pay when you arrive.
  5. Koh Chang has a few Elephant Camps, Klong Son being reputedly the best, just up the road from me. it has been raining non stop for the last 24 hrs and ⚡⛈️ predicted for the next 5 days. there is now a water park in Chi Chet you and your daughter could enjoy.
  6. I was there last week also only for research purposes, beer is a bit more than Pattaya, but some bar fines are only 300 b. 100b if you use their 'back room' +500 for BJ, watched the girls get a bloke stoned and then 3 of them dragged him happily off to the back room. lucky barsteward. afternoons are the best.
  7. So the doctor and police lied to me, I'll pass that on to them.
  8. This is my first hand experience. his sister is next of kin so it is up to her to get the Letter of Attorney First; he died of natural causes after being taken to hospital he has suffered from Motor Neuron Disease MND for 5yrs and lost all use of any muscles, it was the lungs and heart that eventually failed he lost the ability to write or use his hands years ago. I had to use his ATM every month for him, No known will. Second; The Doctor HAS to report any death of a "falang'' to Police, who then came to the hospital, I then had to go to the cops also and report it where they took copies of his passport and no doubt report his death to his embassy. They gave me his PP back. They told me as I said in my OP I and my wife were his ONLY friends here, It is THAI LAW that ALL Falang who die in Thailand are sent to BKK wherever or how ever they die. From my understanding it is the embassies that insist on this that is why it IS the LAW in Thailand anybody disputing this law is wrong. There is no way he could have insurance with MND. Hopefully when all is done and dusted I can write a full report to help others in the same position as me. R.I.P. Jeff
  9. My friend passed away yesterday, I am the only one in Thailand left to organize everything but my Thai wife is helping me immensely, He is on an OZ PP, his sister is in New Zealand whom I'm in contact with and is in the process of obtaining a letter of Attorney for me to release his body for cremation, she will not be coming . As with the Law in Thailand the Police are taking his remains to BKK at a very reasonable 4,500 b from Koh Chang same for return, My big Question does anyone know if there are fee's on top of this for the Autopsy ?? and according to the cops I will need to go to the OZ embassy to collect the letter of Attorney?? so if anyone has real info please let me know. Thanks in advance.
  10. I'm so glad that the Thai health officials are number one in the World, I feel soo much safer now ????
  11. Holding this event on busy intersections is pure madness. will they all stop at red lights. guess the cops will be blowing whistles to all and sundry. Hope the Ambulances are going to be on standby.
  12. So just like the education system no critical thinking, nothing will improve just stay the same and the cash will keep being drained.
  13. Monday I had to drive to BKK on M7 the rain and spray was reducing vision down to about 75mts the worst driving conditions i've seen for many a year, most driving at 60 kmh with lights on, but quite a few driving with no lights and still wanting 120 kmh, and the non use of indicators just urks me. Pathetic drivers here.
  14. My missus 'withdrew' 500b from a yellow ATM, with a Green bank card, nothing came out, but it was gone from her account, rang her bank helpline and they asked for her I.D. number, I told her to hang up. To her bank next day and it may take 3mths to sort it ????
  15. So it was her fault was it, the mentality of some here goes beyond words, they chained her up while they went to work, Say WHAT ! no fear the man would come back while she was chained up. Jeez, and where is the man now ? still wandering around ?, did these grandparents even report it ?
  16. My heart goes out to the Grab driver, trying to earn a living, then a knob head bloke from the RTA comes along, dangerous driving, no helmet, driving without due care and attention, causing damage to property. A week in the slammer at least, oh but he's in the Army init.
