So as you have done multiple times before you divert from the case at hand back to " how many generals have EVER been punished for making illegal coups and stealing the whole country?" As mentioned multiple times before 'it's true that the generals should be tried and punished' but that's a different case to the thaksin/ jail / hospital etc., case.

Just reinforcement that he has no respect for anybody except his family and no respect for the laws of Thailand. Bottom line: - he broke several serious laws, - he was convicted in a proper court clear evidence he was guilty - he was sentenced to several jail terms, - he received big reductions on those sentences before he served 1 day, - he should now be in a regular jail serving out those long sentences.

What about Dukes home branch on the river, great christmas buffet. Well worth checking.

When I click on AN in my favorites bar nothing happens. If I click three times fairly quickly then the site opens. Annoying.

And he should be aware that previous attempts to make serious changes (e.g. stop the rote learning pedagogy and install student centered learning as the main pedagogy), failed totally because the old / very old teachers put up brick walls and totally refused to make any changes. Why? Because it reduces respect for teachers! If the new PM really wants to make serious fruitful changes to education he must demand change and if needed remove those who refuse to change.
-
And include in the teacher education the ability to use and the compulsory use of student centered learning, a compulsory requirement for teachers to prompt kids to ask questions, etc. And reduce class size to a maximum of 30 students. And cancel the 'everybody passes' policy and ensure teachers know how to give grades and exam papers all have a student exam number ID and not the student's name.

"...The Thais just don't get it..." be fair, many farang also don't get it. A different example; I owned a big condo on Petchaburi Road. For several years no issues whatever with neighbors. Then a farang bought the condo next to me. He moved in with his farang GF, and: - His old well used big moving boxes (10 old supermarket product boxes) left in the hallway. Thai neighbor moved them into the garbage room on our floor, but farang quickly found them and moved them back to the hallway near his front door. I had asked him several time to move them out of the hallway as a respect to all neighbors on our floor. He refused. - His front door wide open all the time he/gf at home, TV blaring until early hours of the morning. - Old plastic bags of food scraps put in the hallway against the wall opposite his door. Plus a row of empty beer bottles. Farang had told the maid who cleans our hallway 'don't touch'. This remained until end of each month when juristic person warned the farang he would have the electricity turned off is the food scrap bags/bottles not removed to a central rubbish storage on first floor at back of the building. - After 4 years of this farang suddenly moved out. New owner moved in, very pleasant farang with pleasant Thai wife (an engineer). Very thoughtful/pleasant neighbors.

And is Ukraine really finished? Seems to me they still need a lot of support but will eventually prevail. Is the US about to abandon them? I very much doubt it, and wouldn't surprise me if Biden pulls a rabbit out of the hat to give more support. Re the US public, I wonder whether the general public would really be happy to just stop supporting Ukraine? Or would they see an emboldened Putin as a very serious threat to be pushed back at any cost? -
What about having pensions income (only pension income) from a country where the pension income is below the basic personal tax threshold (originating country and Thailand) and the country has a double tax agreement with Thailand?

Australian Aged Pension

So I guess that means that Oz folks living abroad who have no other income will still be under the threshold and regardless of location/ resident / non-resident. -
So how about that racial profiling!

Really... seems to me there many many cases of African American folks suffering police discrimination all over the US all the time and nothing happens. And it's not new. -

So perhaps possible that 'the OAP is tax exempt' may not be true in the future, in regard to OAP recipients living abroad. As said... we wait and see. -
Australian Aged Pension

thanks for that. A bit more: atocommunity Join nowSign in ATO Community / Your Tax & Super / Income & Deductions What is the tax treatment of Australian age pension when living abroad? An abridged inquiry: ... retiring o'seas soon on Oz OAP. will be non-OZ resident for tax purposes ...therefore I will not have benefit of the tax threshold. My basic tax calculation on ATO site show that I will be paying approx. 30% tax on the age pension, where there would be no tax if resided in Australia. Is this correct? Answer frp https...community.ato.gov.au... follows... Not quite. As an Australian resident for tax purposes, you would pay income tax according to resident rates. This means you'd be eligible for the tax-free threshold up to $18,200, and your tax on the income between $18,200 and $45,000 would be 19c per dollar. You would need to report and pay tax on your worldwide income, not just the age pension. As a foreign resident for tax purposes, you will pay income tax according to foreign resident rates. This means for all income under $180k, you'll pay 32.5c per dollar. You would only report and pay tax on your Australian-sourced income to us. You'll likely be eligible for the seniors and pensioners tax offset (SAPTO) though, meaning you'll get a tax offset to help counter the tax payable. You don't have to be a resident for tax purposes to receive this. You can read about individual income tax rates and SAPTO on our website. further... 32.5cents in the dollar... on Oz oap income???? I've seen it mentioned many times on C.link docs that the OAP is exempt from tax. (Also DVA mentions that all DVA disability compensation payments are exempt from tax. So now totally confused, can someone more knowledgeable please advise. (With all respect username khun heinekin...,please do not reply.) -
Thanks for your reply and your suggestions. Yes the gate is well within our home wi-fi range. I googled Sonoff wifi and got details of dozens of units. Could I please ask you to share some more details, perhaps a photo if possible and some basic details of how it's fitted to the motor. Again, thanks for sharing.

Fitted XXX brand remote controlled electric open/close system to basic household garage gate (one gate extra wide) about 10 years ago. (House location is Chiang Mai. Manufacturer has an agent in Chiang Mai.) Now seem to be having many problems, just one problem: remote control all stopped functioning. Manufacturer quoted 650Baht for 1 new remote control, had to be ordered online from Bangkok. Son ordered online and paid on line. Son discovered the new remote control needs to have a pin no. / code installed. Agent in Chiang says he will come to house (not at his shop) and set the code for 1,000Baht. Seems to be expensive but perhaps I'm out of touch with these costs? Also will sell us a full new machine (with 2 remote controls) same brand for 8,000Baht (price reduced because rack fitted at the bottom of the gate is already in place. On the other hand we did some online research and found well known brands (fully equipped) for 3,1000Baht and up plus shipping from China. But also found newer models with: Full solar panel set up, capable of storing enough power for 24 hr operation, plus basic battery back up. And units come with 2 or 3 remote controls plus full details how to install an app. on smartphones to use as a remote control. Units with both functions mentioned just above, from about 3,500Baht and up plus shipping from China, on Lazada. One small concern is whether the spacing for the teeth on the bar fitted to the bottom of the gate is standard? (Answer to this question would of course answer he question 'Is the cog fitted to the machine standard on all brands?) What would be possible of course is to quickly remove the current rack and fit a new rack which would come with any new brand unit. Further I had an online 'chat' with the manufacturer in China, they will sell the unit (with the 2 newer functions above) but delete the racks from the order and reduce the price by 450Baht. Comments / suggestions / etc., welcome.
