But PT is not being given any rough treatment. Move Forward won the most seats therefore they appoint the speaker, very straight forward so that they are in the correct positioning to implement their promises to the public, very obvious. But of course PT feel entitled to something special outside of the norm. Stop being sore losers PT.
-
Well of course the speaker works on behalf of all people/groups making up the government. PT just have their nose out of joint that somehow it's not them that will have the PM seat. They feel entitleed, they've felt entitled for many years. Quite possible thaksin is egging them on also. It's just common sense that the party which wins/constucts and leads the coalition holds the key positions.

Congratuations. Got my PR 27 years ago. As we all know all of these processes can be a bit different location by location. And there is no doubt that at many offfices they have never had a farang get PR before so they don't know the procedures. When my PR book was issued the same lady asked, "what tabien baan book will your name go into'? I didn't own property at that time. The Thai friend who was driving me around that day instantly asked the lady 'can he go on my Tabien Baan record*? And he instantly offered his Tabien Baan sheets. The lady did a 1 second scan, no questions asked, and she then quickly hand wrote my name/details on the sheets. The friend/driver wasn't asked to sign anything. *This was before the Tabien Baan system was computerized and Tabien Baaan books started to be used.

-Make sure you click the box 'sending money earned in Thailand'. -Need to 'play' the list of reasons/purpose for transfer until the K Bank system accepts what you have clicked. Not difficult. -You can nominate what currency you want to use to send the funds (Baht, pounds, Euros, US$, etc.) A few months ago I used the KBiz internet banking system to send funds to a mainstream bank in Australia. It was in my account the next day. As probably already known for some international funds transfers there's an intermediary bank involved which happens automatically, usually causes a few hours delay but still very reasonable overall time.
-
Correct, international funds transfers can be done on the KBiz internet banking screen and on the kPlus smartphone app. Step 1 is to open either/both K Bank sites above and check if HSBC UK is listed in the banks which are within the 2 automated systems K Bank operates (KBiz and/or KPlus). Both of these K Bank systems are very easy to navigate. The fee for the KBiz online international funds transfer is 250Baht. For the KPlus online system forget the fee, but something similar to KBiz internet banking. Both K Bank systems only operate Mon to Fri from memory 6:00 am to 8:00 pm (needs checking). For both K Bank systems you need to have the SWIFT code for HSBC UK (can be found online in a few seconds). Good luck.

Selfish thaksin, he would be well aware she should be in Thailand right now. Telling her / agreeing that she should go half way around the world right now to visit daddy very obviusly means he involved in some scheme. But he promised before he was totally finished with Thai politics. Wouldn't trust him with 1 Baht.

Should we apply to a few schools simultaneously?
scorecard replied to STD Warehouse's topic in Primary & Secondary Education
"I know what you mean, I know people who had very expensive educations and turn out to do nothing in life and others with much lower cost education that achieve highly in later life." Here's a real example: eldest son given opportunity for excellent and expensive education, studied engineering, died at 30yo from drug overdose. Second son never forgeven for being male. Totally ignored by parents and big brother. Left school as soon as legally possible (15) got a job delivering car parts on his bicycle. 15 years later he owned a huge and very profitable car parts manufacturing and marketing company across many cities. At about 45 retired and gave 50% of the company to about 10 very loyal employees. The other 50% to his 2 daughters and 1 son. Became a serious community organizer/contributor providing big funds for disadvantaged kids and for sport. -
nice, your so sweet...

Should we apply to a few schools simultaneously?
scorecard replied to STD Warehouse's topic in Primary & Secondary Education
Yes and No. If the school is strictly following a research based curriculum then even at a very young age the kids are learning critical foundations, important stepping stones to reading, maths, human relations and more. My Thai son has good qualifications in learning and teaching (pedagogy) and he went to school in Singapore, which is highlt recognised in global rankings for everything about learning and teaching. When time came to find a school in Bkk for his young daughter he went to several schools (expensive, mid range cost etc.). He was shocked how many school seniors didn't understand what he was talking about re buildings foundations. I'm talking about the International schools in Bkk which are often mentioned as world class etc. One school head and seniors and all teachers did understand well what he was talking about (on Sri Ayuthaya Rd in Bkk), they allowed him to sit in the back on the classroom for 2 days, and he selected this school. No doubt because his faceis more Thai then Farang, all of the other schools just rambled on and on about about their beautiful gardens etc. -

And take special note of whether there's any 2 way interaction teacher >< students, and are kids allowed to / encouraged to ask questions. Do the kids sit in rows? or do they sit in small clusters? Do they have a nurse room, do the nurses have any qualificaions/actual experience, attended even basic fist aid course? What transport (school bus) arrangements do they have (if you need that). What's their system to ensure all (ALL) kids get off the bus on arrival at school? -
Or a new plan to get him off the hook with big fanfare on arroval, and damn the law and his unserved convictions/jail time! Perhaps another vote taken at 3:00am in the morning using other members electronic cards.

Is the vote of each senator secret or ??? -

'Protect the country'. Maybe, I suggest 'protect the military / the glory of the military' would be more accurate. -

All of which probably means they have decided but don't want to reveal (others be aware) how they will vote. -
OK but keep in mind there 2 different negative camps re thaksin: 1. The classic yellow shirts who are royalists. They won't forget the comments thaksin made about being thailans first president. 2. Those folks who aren't aligned to 1. above, they just dislike thaksin for his attitudes and past behaviors. Now stand by for the 'junta lover' response.

At an AGM for our old condo a new owner (a CPA) queried the insurance on the actual building and equipment (pool equipment and more). The outside accountant was present. On deeper questioning the outside accountant produced several policies but closer scrutiny revealed they were all years out of date as were the receipts. Further checking revealed documents had been prepared for payment of these polices for many years including the current year. But cheques (checks) were written in favor of an aunt of The outside accountant. Bottom line the building was uninsured and had been for several years. The Snr. policeman owner called a colleague from an economic crimes police team, he came quickly. The accountant claimed she had to leave to go to another appointment. She did leave the AGM, in handcuffs.
