  1. Reminds me of this classic
  2. Basically almost any food you cook may be "enhanced" with "Vitamin G" if you so desire. Use your existing recipes...assuming you do actually cook, of course. 🙄 Witness "Happy Pizzas" in Cambodia which sprinkle it on the same way they do Oregano or Chilli or....or.... To the OP, in March 2023 there was a big place on Soi Bukhau, at the market just after Tree Town heading south. (Before the big bends in the road) Their coconut cookies with cannabis were delicious and (ahem) effective.
  3. Depends how long you stay in a place. I have, over the years spent up to 6 months holidaying using Thailand as my base and travelling the region. All sorts of combinations of TV, Non-Imm O and visa-free entry as the rules dictated. Makes sense and is a lot cheaper than relying on UK cards although companies like Wise have changed that to some degree. I was also, at that time, considering retirement in Thailand so the decision to open the account was simple.
  4. I opened an account at SCB in 2006 - I still have it. At that time, I seem to recall I didn't have any sort of visa, if I did it would have been a TV.
  5. She borrow 10 thousand but never pay me back No, I don't know her - I'm too tight to fall for that one! 😆
  6. My thoughts exactly...... Sometimes I kick myself for not simply ignoring certain threads. However, I would refute the suggestion that all backpackers are stupid. In my youth I travelled the Greek Islands with a backpack staying in cheap "Pensions" and eating in cheap local cafes - over several years' trips I managed to visit many of the islands in the Cyclades group, plus quite a lot of others. It can be fun and educational at 19-23, NOT so much once you get older and accustomed to creature comforts.
  7. On that theme: Postman left a letter on my neighbour's doorstep. On the letter was written "Photographs- Do Not Bend" As I'm such a helpful neighbour, I wrote "Yes they do" on it, folded it in half, and put it in the letter box.
  8. Reminds me of one of Ronnie Barker's lines which went roughly: "I love Pan's People especially Beautiful Babs....dunno what her name is though"

    GPS gone awry

Pretty much all has been said about this person's stupidity, but despite the fact that I worked in "Tech" all my life, I'm still appalled when people rely totally on it and just don't think! There are people today who can't drive without the tech, can't do simple arithmetic, can't put a cogent sentence together, can't shop or cook etc etc. And yet, we were all born with a very powerful computer that is there to help us with all this "stuff" if we only learn to train it and use it! One needs to use the tech as a tool, NOT allow it to become one's master. I, as an old git, am fascinated by AI, but equally I'm worried at how much it's going to make some people use their brains less than they do now. And then when the tech fails.....where's your fall-back?
  10. No probs mate - I can actually take a joke. 😆 It's not too bad a description actually..... 'cept that I'm not bald yet! But if you knew what it really stood for, you'd see that your effort is TAME!!! If anyone from Phuket Hash House Harriers is reading this......
  11. What goes around, "comes" around? ðŸĪĢ😎
  12. Can't resist - why did they fail the entrance test? Too dog tired, or not enough dogged determination? ðŸĪðŸ˜ē Or maybe the trainers didn't hound them enough. I'll get me coat
  13. I agree if you're diving,(it's part of the training) but if one is only at snorkel depth, no real need - just stick your head above the water and spit the mouthpiece out! I'd be inclined to agree more with @scubascuba3 - with that board name, he ought to know!
  14. He's certainly a tool but considering that "He was not a customer of the hotel", their security wasn't exactly on the ball!
  15. Amongst our weaponry are......
  16. Lol ðŸĪĢðŸĪĢ I have a similar background to you, as it happens and there's a difference between being wrong, which I was not, and slightly ambiguous (possibly), which is how you chose to interpret it. Your turn for the handbag? Or shall we just leave it there like gentlemen?
  17. Watching / listening to that fine gentleman creates one feeling for me...... Ahhhhhhhhh and relax!
  18. One is immensely gratified old chap Innit! 😎ðŸĪĢ
  19. That took me about 10 seconds....and being a big Jazz fan, I'm ashamed of myself! â˜đ
  20. He can't remember! ðŸĪŠ
  21. Indeed. If one travels business class one can automatically use the Fast Track or VIP Immigration line. Some airlines eg Emirates will inform you of that. It usually has a VERY much shorter queue so one is through in a couple of minutes...... Be SURE to keep your boarding card handy as there are sometimes staff waiting at the entrance to the Fast Track area checking that you're eligible. (You should be keeping the card anyway but that's another topic!)
  22. But have you got.........
  23. @sandyf It's not what I want to believe - it's the way in which websites work and use of the correct terminology is all. And in fact you're effectively saying the same as I said which is illustrated here https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/difference-between-website-and-domain-name/#:~:text=1.,2. "A domain name is the address that helps to identify and locate a website on the internet, while a website is a collection of web pages hosted on a server. " And to break it down further the Country top level domain is actually .th with thaievisa.go being the second level domain. So wherever one is in the world, one hits the domain thaievisa.go.th which represents a website containing webpages to which you are directed depending upon your data input (i.e. answers to certain questions including location and nationality) To illustrate I've used the site from the UK in 2023 and 2024 - the data input required from me (documents uploaded as an example) has changed in that time. See my post: https://aseannow.com/topic/1316462-application-process-for-tourist-evisa-from-london-as-of-january-2024/ Note my final paragraph - that may or may not be the same for applications from other countries - I wouldn't know.
  24. Posting here to reply to all who mentioned my "woke" comment earlier, not just @spidermike007 and @flyingtlger to whom it was initially directed. I get what you're all saying about Thai women and "woke" and yes you're probably correct, especially in comparison with Western women. My comment was more about the Press and other media, who do tend to follow the West in some areas - reporting in a "Woke" style seems to be one of them.
  25. Thanks. I spent quite a long time remastering many of my own LPs - my friend to whom I referred above taught me. As I always looked after my vinyl, I needed to do very little actual signal processing, leaving the few unwanted artefacts in situ. I say remastering rather than digitising because I took the time to insert gaps between tracks, perform cross-fades etc. A "labour of love" I can assure you. A few of my LPs though needed "declicking" or "dehissing" type processing. Then..... I discovered Torrent sites....but that's a different story. 🙄 Btw, if you happen to be into Jazz / Blues, look out for reissues using CEDAR technology - It's been called "Photoshop for music" by a professional engineer - some of the 1920s/30s music don't arf brush up nice. 😎
