  1. My experience has nothing to do with facts and I do drink. I don't drive if I'm drinking I get a taxi or take tuk or have the wife drive or been known to walk. You claim and think you can handle more because "your experienced" but in reality your reflexes and response time is still impaired, you just perceive its not. Doesnt mean you will do something wrong driving slow and careful (although it could) but your reaction to what others do will also be delayed and can cause just as significant a result. Dont kid yourself as thats all your doing
  2. No I don't, living in phuket doesn't mean you have a pass to drink and drive. It doesnt matter where you live, that doesn't give you an implied excuse to do it
  3. An option that should be there is: I don't drink and drive
  4. You are delusional if that's your standard to test by. I guarantee you would fail most breathalyzer tests and be significantly impaired even if you think your not. Thats the problem with this mentality is you dont have the ability to know the impact to your reflexes after drinking and if you think you do its pretty sad to put yourself and others in danger with a careless attitude like that.
  5. Drunk driving isn't something to encourage, condone or make excuses for when you do it. Its easy enough to get some type of public transportation here and it isn't cost prohibitive so no excuse not to.
  6. Famous last words, I only had a couple but I'm not drunk. Actually unless you space a a significant amount of time between drinks you would most likely fail a breath test. If you cant "feel" any effects after a couple drinks you definitely shouldn't be driving.
  7. This is a ridiculous poll. Why not post a choice: no i don't drink and drive?
  8. That's what all drunks say after they have an accident.
  9. I disagree in general but some areas may be like that. I know several expats that own business in a variety of provinces that have never had a problem although the locals can't say the same
  10. There just covering their a$$ against legal responsibility which is pretty normal in Asia
  11. The use of or thinking Visa Exempt entries as being "unlimited" is slightly inaccurate. They are not unlimited, there is just no limit specified as they used to with land entries. It seems like a petty small difference but in actually that is what it is. That in my opinion is where many fail to understand when Imm Officers question that approach or deny an entry which is pretty seldom if you look at the number of visitors coming into the country.
  12. It absolutely is occurring in various parts of the country and in most all the different govt agencies. I was responding to another poster's comments. It doesn't happen in all RTP department and all levels of officials or areas.
  13. The requirements are pretty easy to accomodate. Don't be surprised if you get rejected at some point and turn away.
  14. Not true. We have a cafe in NST for several years and never had any issue or request. Police come in a number a times a week for lunch or coffee and pay full price without any question. As for a business license they are readily available and can be gotten no problem and they are not expensive. I suspect there's some hidden info not give in the article that caused the "victim" to not apply for the license.
  15. I suspect there's more to his entry history before this series of trips and thats what the Imm Officers are referring to. If they are primarily visa exempt entries then there's a good chance thats the trigger they see after repeated visits like this.
  16. Being held by Customs for clearance doesnt mean there is any fee owed, its a verification check and has nothing to do with Amazon. Every country that imports has the similar process, cerfication the item is allowed and is recorder correctly on customs declaration and then check to verify if a duty is owed and if its paid or needs to be collected. Customs clearance in Thailand is sketchy at best and not consistent. Items can be held for a long than expected time for clearance.
  17. Every thai's car i have been in here since 1984 has had some type of weapon easily available so I'm basing it on personal experience. I'm sure your going to say I haven't been in all thai cars and thats why I said "most"
  18. Its not just in taxis. Most thais outside if BKK carry a knife or club in their cars.
  19. This story makes no sense but reporting here isn't their strong suit. So Big Joe's wife, who is extremely wealthy in her own right, sneaks into the condo of a secret lover, steals money and gold but leaves 5 bags full of money. The wife of the cheating husband then finds the bags, doesn't open them but knows they are full of money so she takes them to the police. Hmmm.
  20. Don't be surprised if this starts happening more frequently with other sellers\shippers. Thailand proposed to change the lower limit on taxation of imports earlier this year to 1500 baht. Im not sure where it stands now but thats a pretty low limit.
  21. Amazon has nothing to do with the item being held and won't issue any credit or refund automatically. I doubt they would anyway as its a customs issue not an amazon issue. Call the transportation carrier. They have to do paperwork to clear the item from customs. If there is a tax due you pay thru them.
  22. So you take a stand and are repeatedly vocal at the Imm Office to make a point. Then you are still so annoyed you call to complain but then bail when you have to actually give the information for a report to be filed and possibly some action taken. Those big balls seem to have shrunk.
  23. Can you post a link showing that as it would be interesting reading
  24. Your just trolling with no substance and don't like to get called out on your bs. Have a good day, I'm done talking with you now as there's no point
  25. And you wanted me to provide you with fact links to back up my comments yet you continue to read what is provided to you. There are plenty if unedited fact check Trump comment, positions and direct staff statements to support his actions. You just choose to ignore them with merit even though you don't bother to read them first. Pathetic
