"Coffee is bad for the liver. Switch to green tea rather if you can in moderation." Source: "The Journal of Old Wives Tales." "Who are you gonna believe, me or your own eyes?" Source: Groucho Marx "Coffee good." Source : Me. "Lots of studies have looked at coffee and liver health. Overall these found that drinking coffee is likely to be good for your liver." "Coffee lovers will be glad to know that coffee is perhaps one of the best drinks you can have to promote liver health, even if you already have liver problems. " Source: Ochsner Health https://blog.ochsner.org/articles/top-foods-and-drinks-that-improve-liver-health "Coffee and Liver Disease. Abstract. Coffee is the most popular beverage in the world. Consumption of coffee has been shown to benefit health in general, and liver health in particular. This article reviews the effects of coffee intake on development and progression of liver disease due to various causes. We also describe the putative mechanisms by which coffee exerts the protective effect. The clinical evidence of benefit of coffee consumption in Hepatitis B and C, as well as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic liver disease, has also been presented. Coffee consumption is associated with improvement in liver enzymes (ALT, AST, and GGTP), especially in individuals with risk for liver disease. Coffee intake more than 2 cups per day in patients with preexisting liver disease has been shown to be associated with lower incidence of fibrosis and cirrhosis, lower hepatocellular carcinoma rates, as well as decreased mortality." Crime In Thailand Versus Crime In Your Home Country
cdemundo replied to Brewster67's topic in General Topics
On many occasions here in Thailand I have suffered from the interaction where "pooying took my power". Not so much in my home country. -
Or too much alcohol.

Maybe that there was no foul play involved if that is the case.

Where do foreigners fit in the Thai hierarchy?
cdemundo replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
"Its upto you how people perceive you and where they place you based on what you do or say, not necessarily on what you have, just like any other society. (mostly)" I think this is really true. If you have a chip on your shoulder cuz you never went to university and you wear you status anxiety on your sleeve, (talking about a hypothetical person of course), your behavior could be off-putting just as a matter of you as an individual. If you are insufferable due to your attitudes and behavior then your place in a social hierarchy is not really an issue. And let me emphasize that I have been at great pains to say "IF". -

The guy who asked so rudely also doesn't understand the DIY impulse. I like to fix stuff if I can. Sadly, I usually can't, but I still like to try. -
Trump found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records
cdemundo replied to webfact's topic in World News
The thing I ask myself is how would I have been treated if I did the same things as Trump, From what I can see he has received favorable treatment. I (or any other citizen) would have been sitting in jail for contempt of court if we acted as Trump did. The charges I don't really know but it seems like more of the same, wonder what his sentence will be. -

"inciters of an insurrection against Democracy are a danger to society. He is a rapist ,a seditionist ,a traitor and a serial liar (which apparently you don't like liars)" Referring to the above:" Lots of adjectives in there." Only one: serial. -

"There is no clear victim, no clear crime," The checker players level of intellect, rather than that of a chess player. If the results are indirect or at one remove from the crime they can't see it. -
Any effort you make to learn Thai will be appreciated by Thai people. Remember to say krap a lot, it is appreciated. Say krap when you practice and you will say it when you speak to people. Be humble and have a sense of humor and you will learn a lot. Keep in mind if someone laughs at your efforts that they are laughing because it sounds funny, not to laugh at you.

. "However, I get the feeling it may be a power trip to just move me and not really about seat position" Never happens to me. I think you are right about a power trip, "whose trip?" is the question.
