"Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones "I can almost hear you sigh" by the Rolling Stones One I really like, sort of a "lost love" song is by Elton John. "Come Down in Time"

I like "Love Hurts" as done by a number of artists, funny I just learned it was written by Boudleaux Bryant. He wrote a lot of other great songs, many were hits for Phil and Don if you know who they were. "Bye, Bye Love," "Wake Up Little Susie." : "All I Have to Do Is Dream," "Take A Message to Mary," "Devoted to You." "Raining in My Heart," r “Rocky Top," "Take Me As I Am (Or Let Me Go)" "Bird Dog"

Bangkok taxi driver accused of kicking out female passenger
cdemundo replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
"You did not tell me which way to go!" I am surprised how often taxi drivers in Bangkok need directions from me. I got a taxi from Don Muang and the guy seemed confused about where I wanted to go. I asked him were he was from he said "Roi Et". The taxi license said Somchai so I asked "Is your name Somchai?" he said "no, this is my friend's taxi". So that explained that one I guess. He got me where I was going so no problem. Where I live is kinda off the beaten path so I have to give turn-by-turn directions. I guess at taxi meter rates I can't expect all of them to afford a phone with GPS. -
"I dont think its so much resentment as nationalism, Thailand is perfect, the biggest and best country in the world, best food etc etc." I hear this fairly often (which, not being a pathetic pedant, I pronounce "offen"). Doesn't every country teach this to their youth? Seems like people who say this might mean "Thais say that Thailand is perfect, the biggest and best country in the world, best food etc etc" when really that is true of my home country.

So apparently you are corresponding with these English persons? I say this because I don't think these errors can be heard in speech, correct me if I am wrong. If it is email, very few people proof their emails and it's possible what you are really seeing is carelessness in typing, not poor knowledge of English.

I don't doubt your experience but it is so different from mine and from most of the posts I read on here. How do you explain it?

Tourist Attacked by Gun-Wielding Taxi Driver in Pattaya

Touchy? A little? Seem to have missed the point in any event. -
Does anyone know the name of this bar from this background clue?

"near the 7-11" That narrows it down. -
I read bit of the article in Scandasia. Typical of substance abusers, nothing is his fault. Habitual liars sometimes tell the truth but not possible to know what is true and what is a lie. "Christa, the Danish vicar in Thailand", there should be an organization "Saps for Jesus" for people who help the undeserving and always seem very self-righteous about what they do. I once talked to a cleaned up druggie who told me that at the end of his using, "nobody was glad to see me", sounds like this guy's story as well. Interesting to learn how quickly his sentence was reduced. Basically his story doesn't pass the sniff test, smells like week old fish.

Tourist Attacked by Gun-Wielding Taxi Driver in Pattaya
cdemundo replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
"Pattaya, a cherished tourist destination." I cherish it. Pattaya is a blast. Every discussion of any kind about Pattaya attracts Pattaya bashers, why is that? I imagine there are discussions about golf on this forum, I never noticed. I don't care for golf, I consider it "a good walk ... spoiled" as the man said. But I have never posted on a golf discussion that I don't care for golf. What I am saying is that all the Pattaya bashers definitely have an interest in Pattaya. Is there a name for this? I don't know but it is a real phenom. -
Yes, xylophone is absolutely right. I was lowly educated and looked it up and xylitol does reduce bacteria. I am a little suspicious of the xylophone/xylitol connection; could xylophone be an agent of Big Xylitol? For the stiffs out there, (and I know you are on this forum), I'm kidding about this last part.

It isn't just in Thailand. I lived in California where you had to show your driver's license which they scanned to keep track if you were buying metric tons of the stuff, also you had to sign (electronically) to promise that you weren't using it to start your own drug cartel. In a neighboring state, Oregon, you need an MD prescription to get pseudafed. But I also remember going in to a pharmacy when pseudafed was just OTC and the whole shelf would be emptied of Pseudafed, generics and anything that had it in combo with antihistamine. So apparently it was a problem.

Glad you warned me, I have been using pseudoephedrine for 40 some years and I wouldn't want to waste anymore time trying it.

Altercation with Ladyboys at Pattaya Beach Shocks Foreign Tourists

Amazing thought processes in the discussions on this board. Somehow an article about an altercation with ladyboys triggered fat haters. I didn't go through all the responses, did the Trump haters and Trump lovers get triggered as well? -

Methinks you protest too much. -
The thing that I have noticed is that no one ever thanks me when I correct their ignorance and/or flawed thinking. Seems very ungrateful to me.

Thailand remains neutral on Israeli-Palestine conflict
cdemundo replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thailand's neutrality is their business, my opinion is of no consequence to them. But... My first awareness of Palestinian militants is of a Palestinian pushing an elderly man in a wheelchair off the deck of the ship Achille Lauro into the Mediterranean Sea. This was intentionally done in front of TV cameras. Most recently the murderous attack by Hamas on unarmed civilians in Southern Israel committing multiple murders on video. Although, there is no doubt a lot of blame to be shared on both sides, the Palestinians have projected an image of inhuman brutality and cruelty that works to their disadvantage. -

"Really? What does saying we support Israel do? Doesnt achieve anything." Possibly the "we" in this post is what the government might say. Not the poster including himself as a person speaking for Thailand. Ya think? -
Money can't buy you Love (unless you're in Thailand).

Two great philosophers and their thoughts on the subject, both from the US by the way, so they are thinking about "love" in the West.
