  1. Aerosmith can/could rock. This song was not written by them either, originally they used it's original title "My Big Ten Inch", but they got PC I guess.
  2. "Re your 90 day visa have no idea what that is. Where did you obtain it. A non O provides 90 day stamp. A tourist visa 60 days." There are more things in heaven and earth... Says "Valid from 23 Aug 2023 to 22 Nov 2023" "Type of Visa : Tourist" "No of Entry : Single" "Employment Prohibited" I got it at the Thai embassy in Vientiane. "Re your 90 day visa have no idea what that is." I told you, it's a tourist visa.
  3. Actually I didn't extend both tourist visas. First one I extended by 30 days. Second one I was given a 90 day visa, I don't know why, rather than a 60 day. So you believe exit/reenter at Nong Khai gives better chance of being granted visa exempt entry? So in this way do I need a visa for Laos, and do I need to stay overnight? Thanks.
  4. Reminds of the guy who said "Joe Schmo is a drunk; every time I go to the bar he is there".
  5. I am in Bangkok. It was my second tourist visa, I extended the first one after 60 days. My second tourist visa was for 90 days, I went to Laos to get it. Thanks for the info. To get the visa exemption do I need to be out of the country overnight? Can I just fly out and immediately fly back? Also, does it matter if my tourist visa still has validity, or should I wait until it expires?
  6. Can I re-enter Thailand as visa exempt when my tourist visa expires? I am in the process of applying for a non-B visa and work permit and the process may not be complete before my visa expires. Can I re-enter Thailand as visa exempt status after my tourist visa expires in order to complete these applications? I have time estimates from my employer for how long the process will take. If the optimistic times are met I am ok and will have my visa and work permit in time. But if anything goes longer I might not complete everything before the visa expires. If I do re-enter on visa exempt status will that have any bearing on my applications? I want to avoid leaving the country and applying for another tourist visa because of the expense, and because the visa exempt time frame should be enough to complete my applications.
  7. Cuz of all the stuff I keep putting of until tomorrow.
  8. "Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones "I can almost hear you sigh" by the Rolling Stones One I really like, sort of a "lost love" song is by Elton John. "Come Down in Time"
  9. "many expats here in Thailand are stupid" Where could you possibly find evidence to support this contention? Where oh where?
  10. I like "Love Hurts" as done by a number of artists, funny I just learned it was written by Boudleaux Bryant. He wrote a lot of other great songs, many were hits for Phil and Don if you know who they were. "Bye, Bye Love," "Wake Up Little Susie." : "All I Have to Do Is Dream," "Take A Message to Mary," "Devoted to You." "Raining in My Heart," r “Rocky Top," "Take Me As I Am (Or Let Me Go)" "Bird Dog"
  11. "I dont think its so much resentment as nationalism, Thailand is perfect, the biggest and best country in the world, best food etc etc." I hear this fairly often (which, not being a pathetic pedant, I pronounce "offen"). Doesn't every country teach this to their youth? Seems like people who say this might mean "Thais say that Thailand is perfect, the biggest and best country in the world, best food etc etc" when really that is true of my home country.
  12. So apparently you are corresponding with these English persons? I say this because I don't think these errors can be heard in speech, correct me if I am wrong. If it is email, very few people proof their emails and it's possible what you are really seeing is carelessness in typing, not poor knowledge of English.
  13. I'm surprised to hear that you were banned. I see a lot of outrageous posts on here but I don't remember you posting anything too offensive or crazy. A lot of times I just post to mess with people, (hard to believe I know) and I haven't been banned yet. I suppose my day will come.
  14. I don't doubt your experience but it is so different from mine and from most of the posts I read on here. How do you explain it?
  15. "near the 7-11" That narrows it down.
  16. Yes, xylophone is absolutely right. I was lowly educated and looked it up and xylitol does reduce bacteria. I am a little suspicious of the xylophone/xylitol connection; could xylophone be an agent of Big Xylitol? For the stiffs out there, (and I know you are on this forum), I'm kidding about this last part.
  17. It isn't just in Thailand. I lived in California where you had to show your driver's license which they scanned to keep track if you were buying metric tons of the stuff, also you had to sign (electronically) to promise that you weren't using it to start your own drug cartel. In a neighboring state, Oregon, you need an MD prescription to get pseudafed. But I also remember going in to a pharmacy when pseudafed was just OTC and the whole shelf would be emptied of Pseudafed, generics and anything that had it in combo with antihistamine. So apparently it was a problem.
  18. Glad you warned me, I have been using pseudoephedrine for 40 some years and I wouldn't want to waste anymore time trying it.
  19. The guy was trying to be helpful. Don't throw batteries at him.
  20. The times they are a changin'
  21. The thing that I have noticed is that no one ever thanks me when I correct their ignorance and/or flawed thinking. Seems very ungrateful to me.
  22. Thailand's neutrality is their business, my opinion is of no consequence to them. But... My first awareness of Palestinian militants is of a Palestinian pushing an elderly man in a wheelchair off the deck of the ship Achille Lauro into the Mediterranean Sea. This was intentionally done in front of TV cameras. Most recently the murderous attack by Hamas on unarmed civilians in Southern Israel committing multiple murders on video. Although, there is no doubt a lot of blame to be shared on both sides, the Palestinians have projected an image of inhuman brutality and cruelty that works to their disadvantage.
  23. "Really? What does saying we support Israel do? Doesnt achieve anything." Possibly the "we" in this post is what the government might say. Not the poster including himself as a person speaking for Thailand. Ya think?
