  1. Anyone have any idea about how many real antivaxxers there are in Thailand? I know there is opposition against Sinovac, but most seem to be wanting a vaccination as such. It seems different from Europe, but I have never seen any real data about this.
  2. I was there 5 days ago. Had to show my vaccinated evidence but inspection was not very thorough.
  3. Not True. There are now some reservation about Astra. I would go for Pfizer.
  4. This is mainly about the money, but after my marriage I continued to extend my visa as before, as unmarried. A lot easier.
  5. I also never understood. But lately I have seen Thais drinking. Genetically they don't tolerate alcohol well and women even less. They like to sit close in groups and get very loud. I do believe this helps spreading a virus. It is not like having a beer or a glass of wine with a meal. Unfortunately the latter group suffers from the behavior of the first.
  6. I have Citibank, no bank book. I get the statement for the past twelve months the day before I go for the extension. On the day itself I withdraw a small amount from an ATM and attach the slip to the statement. This has always been accepted.
  7. There are some high risk countries on this list like Romania. But since everyone entering needs to be vaccinated, have a negative test and a short quarantine, it did not really send to matter where they come from as they impose no threat. The threat is from everything that starts moving connected with tourism like cleaners, tuk tuk drivers etc. I wonder how many of them are vaccinated.
  8. I would go to the appropriate Land Office and ask for the requirements. When I did this I also found out that they only work by appointment and the next one was in six weeks. The medical certificate has a validity of 4 weeks, so this helps for planning. You also have the latest version of requirements, things have a tendency of changing here sometimes.
  9. You are a car geek and like to service them yourself. You buy this lovely vehicle that everyone raves about. When you come home you find out hat the bonnet has been welded. No modifications and service only where you bought it and at a hight price.
  10. I did on-line three times successfully but the last two times by mail. Now each time I have the paper version ready, try on-line and if that doesn't work just mail the paperwork. Both times reply after six weeks.
  11. Looks like some unsettled business with the overseers, maybe a score to settle. There are many bars in this area that have been serving wine and beer for weeks already, albeit in a paper cup or a teacup.
  12. There is an even spread among the different brands. This is what you can expect, because there is no "best" beer under the pilseners. There have been blind tests with beer lovers in which they were not able to determine their favourite beer nor their most disliked beer. The choices were no better than what you can expect by chance. So you just believe what you drink. I love craft beers and IPA, but just one.
  13. You don't really need the Mor Prom app. Just scan the QR code on your certificate from the hospital and you will be taken directly to the website that shows you the green certificate. Make a screenshot, crop it a bit and you're done. You get precisely the same thing as on the app.
  14. A colleague of mine took it for no other reason than to be on the safe side and had a cerebral hemorrhage. Don't take it unless prescribed says me (MD).
  15. I just scanned the QR code on the certificate i got from the hospital. This produces an approval which is the same as from the app. Make a screen shot and crop it a bit.
  16. Yes, and in UK too, but other countries also have the name and in my case it is derived from Dirk, a hundreds year old name that also has been in the family for some generations. Polite people (with sufficient IQ) tend to call me Richard sometimes....
  17. It is the name my parents chose for me and that has been mine for decades. In spite of the unfortunate synonym it is a perfectly normal first name in the country where I am from and in many others. It should be clear (but here the IQ comes in again) that it is an original first name and not a fantasy nickname. So not chosen but given. It is beyond me to choose a fantasy name just because of disrepectful morons.
  18. And mocking someone's name in a pathetic attempt to be funny is inversely related to IQ.

  20. There is an inverse relationship between the dB's of noise and the size of an essential part of the (male) driver's anatomy.
  21. But I'm not sure if a tourist on a tourist visa can get a residence certificate. I got mine only after the personal 90-days reporting.
  22. Being pro-vaccination is not a belief but based on a plethora of facts and evidence. If non-vaxers would be 1-2% nobody would spill a word, but the numbers like 20-30% are a serious threat in terms of them needing hospital beds. As they die away the threat becomes less, but until then they cause costs and are a considerable burden. You cannot really compare this with other diseases like from smoking etc, because the numbers - although still too many - are manageable, unlike a Covid outbreak. But over time according to Darwinian principles the problem will solve itself.
