Western "crap' is the best music around, with most of the best musicians alive today. Western includes the UK, Germany, and other European artists. Thai artists, although there are a few that are of quality, still cannot come close to musicians from the West.

I beg to differ, I grew up from the 50's to now, and heard the best music the world will ever know, no matter how long this planet survives. There have been innovators, and millions who copy their music. Music from the 60's to the 80's is, and always will be, among the best ever heard. There have been a few artists that have made quality music since then, and I've heard them all, including the progressive rock, folk, and fusion genres. If I need therapy because I listen, daily, to the best music ever made, so be it.

I have over 40,000 cd's, a lot burned, and over 1000 dvd's. I listen and watch daily. Old school to the bone.

Hit and run got me, I'm all broken!
fredwiggy replied to BritManToo's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Before you thought this was a hit and run, which isn't a good thing no matter what. Now you know it was intentional for a minor infraction by you. This has got to sour your taste just a bit now about life here, as it further shows what goes on here, especially involving farangs. -
Foreign Tourist Attacked by Hostile Youngsters in Pattaya

I don't know where you lived in the US, but running into a lot of violent people seems to be a gross exaggeration to me. I lived, worked, and drove in NYC for 30 years. Parents were from Brooklyn. Lived right next to San Antonio for 32 years. I never saw much violence at all, besides people yelling at each other or cutting each other off on the roads, which happens daily here and elsewhere. I was out daily all those years in many rough ares in countless cities in NY, New Jersey, and Texas, including Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston. No one ever tried anything with me. Not once. I'm fully aware daily of what goes on there, along with the violence here and in almost every country on earth. If you go looking for trouble, you will find it. In this case, this has been happening for awhile, and against foreigners, by prejudiced boys taught that prejudice by either their friends or their parents. Asians get attacked all the time in America, and this is one reason why. People in America know what goes on against foreigners in visited countries, especially the sex capital of the world, and retribution comes because of it. The more foreigners are targeted here in Thailand, and other Asian countries, the more Asians will be targeted in America. It's not hard to understand. -

I guess you don't realize all nations were founded upon violence, with people fighting over land, borders, etc. If America didn't have the Revolutionary War, England would be in charge of it. If Rome wasn't stopped, it would have ruled over all of Europe, and so on. Killings happen daily in almost every country. I wasn't saying violence against foreigners, I was talking about violence in general here. It's not panic mongering but pointing out what it is. And you can't comment on what most aren't buying into anyway, only yourself. The violence against foreigners here has been going on for a long time, and is getting worse. This happens everywhere. If you would look at world news, like I see daily, and also news here, you would see what's actually going on. -
If you read what I said, you would see what it means. This is a simple explanation............ What is the difference between sympathy and empathy? Sympathy is more of a feeling of pity for another. Empathy is our ability to understand how someone feels while sympathy is our relief in not having the same problems.
-
If you get emotional when you watch a movie where someone is hurt, and can put yourself in their shoes and understand how they are feeling, and it bothers you, you have empathy. If you can cry when you see someone hurt, knowing they aren't doing well, you have empathy. If you see an animal killed on the street, or hurt by another, beaten , starved or neglected, and it bothers you, you have feelings for that animal, and that's also empathy. Giving others money is more sympathy, but it's also empathic if you understand how they are feeling having little.

You won't be able to put yourself into the feelings of a person who killed your daughter, as that's not normal thinking. All you can do is have forgiveness for him, as you will never forget.

As compared to here? I lived in the US 62 years, and knew hundreds of intelligent women there, of all races. If you listen to a woman, they might talk more with you. -

Might want to tune into the local news daily. You'll see but a fraction of what goes on here daily. People don't adore violence in the US. The movies we see are a release of sorts, and not what the general public practices. There is a lot of violence everywhere, including here, and a lot more than you realize. It's not a good idea to stick up for violence towards foreigners, nor anyone else for that matter. It's far from rare here. What is lacking here is enforcement of laws already on the books. People that aren't punished for violent acts will continue them. -

There's only one way to spell a word, and that's correctly. It's farang. Anything else is wrong, and it's because many here cannot spell it right. Not that it matters, because everyone knows what others mean. It not pedantic to like to see things spelled right, and most people understand that there are many in life that cannot spell well. Spelling anything right only means you can spell, not that you're a "pedant". -

Which is always why it's not a good idea to assume, just like the Israel post. So many get into bickering amongst themselves when no one really knows the true story. Wait awhile and discuss amicably, instead of a bunch of old guys calling each other idiots, not capable or prejudiced. -

Driving by on a scooter and hitting someone with a stick (which is the preferred weapon of cowards) isn't but the opposite of bravery. -
As far as Canadians , locals, being smarter than Americans. I'm wondering where you got this information, as the average IQ of Canadians and Americans is about even. As far as the country itself, I have been there a few times fishing and hunting, as many of my friends have, and it's absolutely beautiful country. I don't bother with big cities as they are all much the same. It's very cold there. When I hunted in Alberta it was below zero every day with the lowest at -39. The fishing was the best I've ever had in fresh water. The air was as clean as I've ever witnessed. I would go there every year if I could afford to.

That's why you don't say you have empathy for others yet ridicule those that are fat. And I don't think people who are overweight blame anyone for it. They know exactly why they gained extra weight Many eat a lot because they are suffering from abuse or depression, and it helps take their minds off of what's bothering or hurting them.. ..........https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/insight-is-2020/201105/the-psychology-why-people-dislike-or-hate-fat-people

A lot of truth there. It's either being absent, too permissive or abusive when anyone steps out of line. I've seen on quite a few occasions moms walking around with sticks, with two times at the local clinic, waiting for their very small children to get out of line, where they received a whack with the stick. That's abuse, and it shouldn't be tolerated, but no one seemed to care, as if it's normal behavior. Using a weapon is a cowards way, and shows how they were raised also.
-
You either have it or you don't. It's not really a measurable entity. It's taught in early childhood or it isn't. You can learn it anytime in life,as long as you aren't tainted by being a narcissist, as they have no empathy.

If they continue to let children of this age commit crimes, especially violent ones, and get away with it, it will continue with others. There are laws in the US which holds anyone accountable for crimes, starting at age 6 in some states and older in others. Some will be held at a rehabilitation center, most supervised by social services. Between 12 and 14 for intentional murder. At the federal level, the minimum age of Juvenile delinquency is 11 years, while 28 states have no minimum age of delinquency. The standards for transferal of juveniles to adult courts varies by state and may combine statutory limits with prosecutorial and judicial discretion. One case...................................................................................................................................................................... On August 20, 1999, 11-year-old Miriam White flew into a rage when one of her family members gave her grief for letting a cat out of the house. Fleeing her Philadelphia home with a kitchen knife, she spotted Rosemarie Knight, 55, walking her dog. Without saying a word, White stabbed Knight in the heart, killing her. Although White was only 11 years old at the time, and had a history of psychiatric problems, a local judge ruled that she be tried as an adult. The preteen defendant pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and possession of an instrument of crime, and was sentenced to 18 to 40 years in prison. She remains incarcerated to this day. Can a minor go to jail in USA? Approximately 10,000 minors under the age of 18 are housed in jails and prisons intended for adult offenders and juveniles make up 1,200 of the 1.5 million people imprisoned in state and federal detention facilities. Paying people off for murdering a relative is an insult, and shows a lack of human rights. At the very least, he should be housed in a mental facility until it is determined by a professional psychiatrist that he is capable of being released into the public again.

Empath, and we are the ones who pay the price when we encounter narcissists, who prey on empaths. We are the beta males (females) who take care of our children, wives and girlfriends when they were hurt by the narcissists. We cry when we and others we love are hurt because we have emotions. We are gentle, nurturing and feel for others, can put ourselves in other's shoes and try and feel what they feel, so we can help. We don't intentionally use or hurt others because we know how that feels. Some of us try to be leaders so we can help others but get caught up in the lies and corruption and become what we despise sometimes. We feel more stress than the narcissists because we actually care, and with that care comes worry, and stress. We cannot choose to be empaths. It is what we were raised to be. Some of us were abused as children and didn't become like the abuser but turned away and became the opposite. The world would be much better if we outnumbered the narcissists 10 to 1.

Stallone used it all the time, along with a few others. He was actually busted in Australia for bringing 48 vials. into the country. I was a personal trainer in 5 gyms for 16 years, and knew hundreds of users along with news on who did what. I was interested for awhile in HGH but never got around to trying it because I wanted to stay natural. I was built a lot like Stallone for many years, getting close to his ripped times without anything, and that's mainly why. I came close to his highest bench and was stronger in legs and deadlifts. My family is diabetes prone, so that' was another reason not to try HGH, as it can cause problems, along with joint pain which is my biggest problem because of extreme lifts for too many years. I know some get edema but not everyone.

Texas was my last home, for 32 years, New Jersey for 30 before that. I miss both, but more Texas because I have 3 of my children and grandkids there, it's better hunting and fishing for me. New Jersey I also miss, for those same reasons, but I hated the cold. When I move back to Texas, I can always visit NJ in a couple of hours by air. Both states have anything anyone needs, but Texas is more wide open country, and that's what I prefer.
