That's another of those benefits being down south, sometimes you just grab a beer from 7/11 as chilling on the beach is just fine.

Hi..Can a foreigner call for an ambulance in Chiang Mai…??
ChaiyaTH replied to mikey88's topic in Chiang Mai
It is free of charge if someone else called for you. If you call for yourself, you do pay. -
This is nonsense of people who just don't really know and then judge places by the tourist area prices. In that case even in Chiang Mai a simple lunch can cost you 300-350B too. In reality I have found more options to get both Thai food as well alcohol cheaper, in the south, simply because there is more business activity there. Same for what old croc already wrote, most general things are the same price anywhere in Thailand. Also Phuket is huge, plenty of areas where prices are similar to elsewhere in TH. Usually these people are the ones who also hate Bangkok, but never seen more than khao san and sukhumvit soi 11. For Phuket that would then usually be Patong and the like. In the south I can easily have fun all evening and night with my 120B gram weed, a bucket for 200-250 baht, some slice of pizza and local food 2 times at 150B. I can barely move around for that in Bangkok, and in CM it would also only buy me a couple of beers. Simply more options down south / islands.

What is a good online payment with low risk (for Thai people)?
ChaiyaTH replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in General Topics
Or you stop living in the past making things complicated for no reason. You can simply open an extra bank account with visa and use that one specifically for online shopping. Transfer money when need top up. problem solved topic closed -
Lolll. More like the opposite, they are desperate already. It is going to be more corrupt and easier again. It already is in the south anyway.

This is when one wished to have paid the 50$ monthly safetywing insurance. He would be covered for 250,000$. -

She is depressed from you, your only positive side were the financial promises. how hard is it to realize that if doing what you did? You likely took her away from the real love in her life for the sake of money under family pressure. exact this is why most girls look miserable as soon their foreign bf looks away, if not flirting too. And no sex means sex elsewhere. hurts my trust in humanity to need to repeat this countless, while being one of the younger ones.

Bank transfer after 1st Jan or now?
ChaiyaTH replied to kwak250's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I can't believe this entire taxing plan is even still a real thing, because we are now just weeks away and there is still not one clear outline of definitive consequences for foreigners. Not to mention this could then be the last nail in the coffin for foreigners spending here, I wonder what the property market will look like by Q4 next year. -
Did we not just got to read recently, that by Thai law, any hospital needs to accept patients, for at least the first 72 hours of medical care, regardless of insurance / money. If so, that means the hospital is liable to the foreigners death, and some people should be prosecuted? But this is Thailand. This is so extremely concerning, because if you unexpectedly get an accident, when you least expect it (and likely have least documents on you), you could be knocked out, unable to tell you are 'rich' or have the best insurance, nobody knows what happened to you, and then before you know, death. People then always say, yeah but I carry this thing in my wallet and it's always on me. I don't believe this is a guarantee, many times there is communication and hassle for the insurance companies too, that could still lead to being refused at a private hospital, even that should be prevented with the law above.

As written above as well, there are many variations and possibilities, this is why you first have to do your own research more. But in terms of Thailand little to worry about, specially if you can for now keep bringing in seasoned money ( a year old ). The new taxes and rules, too unclear for now to give clear answers on, everyone waits for that.
-
If you know this little so far, to then come here and ask questions, is only gonna do you more bad than good. Do your own proper research first, you clearly haven't so far done the very basics of possibilities yet. There are many, but many things depend on the individual situation, requirements, goals etc etc too.

How long an actual 60 minute be actual massaging?
ChaiyaTH replied to DonniePeverley's topic in General Topics
I always do 2x 1 hour for this reason on purpose, also with different people or if possible even places. They always get spoiled in Thailand if you think to be a 'loyal customer'. -
How long an actual 60 minute be actual massaging?
ChaiyaTH replied to DonniePeverley's topic in General Topics
The majority does less than 60 minutes unless you agreed to pay for the additional services, which they are only really interested in, lol. -

ChaiyaTH replied to DonniePeverley's topic in General Topics
They seem to use clocks that run on 1.5X speed, the irony is that they also charge like 300B + for 1 hour nowadays, performing a <deleted>ty job. I'd still rather go to the traditional shops with old ladies, or on the weekend markets, where you pay just 100-150B for the same, and get an actual proper foot massage. It's really with everything, same as food, ah it only increased from 40B average to 50-60B average, yeah, but it's also half the portion with few pieces of chicken in it nowadays. Thailand is really not a cheap place anymore, affordable sure, but certainly not cheap. -
Wealthy Thai man arrested for gold shop robbery in Chiang Mai
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
You gotta me kidding me, he did the robbery + amount right for once, to then mess up this badly? That is just sad lol. He could have melted the gold, or just fly to Hong Kong with 1-2 at the time. What a idiot, selling it for 4M baht. -
You just continue freelance from your own name and invoice them from your name with your home countries bank account. As you would normally de-register back home when moving here, you will then no longer be paying VAT. You do not need to setup a business for this in Thailand, if any business, it can be elsewhere than here. If you then are going to pay taxes here is another subject, I would avoid here. In terms of having a company in Thailand in general, you would not have VAT either unless you do around 1.8M baht a year (out of my head). If you are talking about achieving to have a work permit, setup a Thai company with a different purpose, the wife can be one and hire another one, you will be able to get a work permit as of being married (2 employees). But there is not a reason to do that, if all you do is, writing.
