    Good to be married in the Philippines. After you get your marriage visa, (13a permanent), once a year you have to do the so called yearly reporting. Fill out one form, cost 310 Peso. You can either visit the Immigration office or doing the process online with a video call. Great service! Additionally every 5 years you have to renew your ARC 💳 card. Kind of ID. Especially needed when dealing with the banks.

    Sounds different when you ask the Swiss Embassy. The rules are still not clear, but it really could happen, that retirees will have to pay taxes from their incomes. 35%, also not sure yet.

    Then thousands of falangs, especially in Pattaya, can't sleep well. In 1969 when I came first time to Thailand, this kind of visas were already offered! Until today, Immigration officers prefer this kind of visa. Why? Well they receive their shares. And what bank the agente are using? Only Bangkok Bank 😁👍

    No requirements needed! Come in on your tourist visa, then one of the many visa agents can take care of everything. No money in the bank needed. Will cost you around 20 - 25k. The agent will take care to open your bank account (Bangkok Bank) and will handle the paper work with the Immigration.

    Yes, it was possible 2005 in Pattaya. An agent took care of everything. After 3 days got my license. In 2008 I had a bad accident. But fortunately the license proofed to be genuine. As far as I can remember, had to pay about 5k to the agent.

    I had this problem. Condo was in the name of my wife when she died. Should sell within one year. Lawyer could overturne and I could stay until I decided to sell.     Years back, I gave my photo to an agent and after one day he came back with my driver license. Cost me around 8k.

    When I was working in Thailand, my employe paid for my social security. After resigning, I received a check with a lump sum of around 90k.

    Well, years back I learned intensively for 2 years with books, tapes and a private teacher. After I was able to speak more or less fluently (with a terrible accent) and to read or write a little. Was helpful when I got the job in one of Khun Thaksin's company.

    Here in the Philippines no problems. Offered interest rates up to 7% p/a.
