Ok please tell us all why its nonsense then? When every table is packed at ALL hours of the day every day, and they are holding the tourist's hands and walking them through all the paperwork.... Are the helpers there helping in their spare time as a free service to the poor farang? I think not my friend....They are there for the cold hard cash...They are making very good money off tips there every day.. If they were not taking home plenty of baht every day there would be no helpers to help the confused farang.......End of story....

Also, that place has LOADS of people working there who are very eager to help you fill in the paperwork....Knowing a nice tip will be forthcoming shortly.....I have no idea how much they make in tips but I would guess at least 1-2 thousand a day on top of their salary...

What ever.....Look at El Salvador 13% VAT and that country is very poor....

The poor don't buy much so they would not pay much VAT....And the rich would pay a lot more VAT.....The VAT is a very fair tax...

Raising the VAT would painlessly raise billions and trillions of more money overnight.....So if they really needed money this is exactly what they would do.....There is nothing easy or painless about trying to milk retirees out of taxes they in no way should be paying to begin with.... So as it stands now they are not interested in raising money.... But They are interested in milking money from foreigners who should not be paying any tax... And if this was not for farangs they would have said it's not from day #1..

Yes, injuries Could happen at 10 feet but the odds are strongly in favor of almost no injuries happening especially for the young.....

So in other words after 180 days you qualify as a resident for the bad stuff (taxes) but you don't qualify as a resident for any of the good stuff like (30 baht health care)...

Their biggest problem by far was the Thai government did not support them they also threw up loads of roadblocks.... Well, the ATM point is valid for 2 reasons... #1 If your card is ever not returned, you will have someone to talk to.. #2 ATMs at a bank have a much lower chance of having a skimmer..

I have no info on pricing.....But Common sense says a simple thing like a 30 day extension should cost no more than 1000 to 1500 baht absolute max for an agent.......They used to do the 30-day extensions right then and there when your number was called in the past....
