Mobile Banking Drops Support for iOS 13/Android 9 from Feb 2026
Yes, this is interesting to figure. I noted that Google Maps uses "Gulf of America", whereas Google Earth uses both. Most people get their information from the Internet these days, so the new name will eventually become universal. Is it a bad thing that the US does not want to recognise "Myanmar" and take a stand against its despotic regime?

A look at the Pattaya Firework festival, were you there ?
To be honest, I did it for my new gf, who has never seen a display up close. The time for being close to the bed at all times has passed.

Yes, a lot of people prefer to live in the dark ages. The banks are not forcing people to buy a new phone. These banking apps are very sophisticated, with software that won't run properly on old hardware. Next year, iPhone 6 will be the first casualty. It's a Sep 2014 phone, so 11 years was a good run. I have one, and it's too slow for most things, and a lot of apps are no longer supported and cannot be updated.

Unfortunately, watching it from a distance doesn't cut it. You need to be centre stage (At Pattaya Klang) to really enjoy it because they are choreographed fireworks displays to music (pyromusical), designed to be watched close up. I also hate crowds, but this is one time it's worth the effort. I went on both nights. The hard part is not getting there, but getting away at the end of the night with traffic that rivals New Year's Eve.

You'd be surprised to learn that very few Thai people bother with ATM cards now. My gf has several bank accounts but no cards. What does she need them for? Even the street vendors have QR payment. Even the trucks running around selling fruit and vegetables have a QR code. All Thailand-based online shops have the QR option to pay. If she needs a debit card to make payments to companies abroad, she can use a virtual debit card that all banks will provide. If I want money at the ATM, I use the QR scan to withdraw.

I don't trust you, because you are wrong. I'll give you one example. DHL. NO CASH ACCEPTED. I use QR to pay anyway, so no problem for me, but they wouldn't accept your cash and the lady behind the counter wouldn't care if you walked out or not, as it is company policy not to accept it. FedEx has the same policy. She'd probably prefer you to walk out so she can keep viewing her TikTok uninterrupted. Many companies are going this way. It's not the staff's fault, or even management. It's the company policy. Trust me, LOL.

It would have been a useful bit of research for the writer to add that iPhones older than the iPhone 6s or iPhone SE (1st generation) are unable to use IOS 14.

Not universally. Burma: The official English name until 1989. It is still used by many opposition groups, democratic movements, and specific countries as a sign of protest against the military government. For example, the United States does not recognise Myanmar.

A lot of retailers have stopped accepting cash payments.

I use mobile apps often to pay for stuff, and it's certainly not a pain, quick and very convenient. Nearly everyone uses QR scans these days, even street vendors.

Brit Stunned at How Much £2.50 Buys in Thailand's 7-Eleven
It will be a waste of time for you. I like mild cheese, so it hits the spot for me.

You say "the West is not any better". Take another look around... the West is far, far worse. The fat ones are usually the rich ones who can afford enough junk food to get fat. The subject was 7-Eleven, and some sticklers seem to be shocked at how much confectionery and other unhealthy food they sell. Discussion of how the population is becoming more obese is a subject for another thread, another day. With regards to 7-Eleven, they don't sell any more or less than any other retailer. If they can't find what they like at 7-Eleven, they'll go somewhere else.

Yes, a good point. CP All, a subsidiary of the Charoen Pokphand Group, is the exclusive operator and franchisor for 7-Eleven in Thailand. With over 15,400 stores as of May this year, they likely have the most purchasing power of any retailer in Thailand. The CP group stocks all supermarkets and other convenience stores, as well.

It's impossible for normal people to get tired of anything online. If you're tired, stay away and sleep it off.

Thai people love cheese. If they are not eating it, it's because they can't afford it. There's a Thai kebab stall close to where I live. I've never eaten so much cheese in a kebab before, when I chose the "extra cheese" option, and all the customers there are Thai. My Thai gf can't get enough cheese. I have to tell her to take it easy when she is preparing food that requires cheese.

What the naive YouTuber didn't understand about 7-Eleven in Thailand is that they are not the same as back at home. In Thailand, they sell everything at supermarket prices. Back at home, 7-Elevens are very expensive, so you only buy something if you're in desperate need.

That's an absurd comment. Do you think 7-Eleven sells more junk than every other convenience store or supermarket in Thailand? No, it does not!! No one is forcing you or anyone else to buy junk. Most balanced people buy some junk food, but don't live on it. Have you never eaten a chocolate bar or had an ice cream? Live a little! You're going to die anyway. Being a die-hard health nut is a stressful life, and can kill you faster than if you are more relaxed about what you eat.

Stop bitching about dual pricing for foreigners
What they might want to do in Thailand is ensure that when a foreigner pays for a group of Thai people, they get the same rate. That's when dual pricing seems excessive and unfair, when you're paying for a group of Thais. A shout-out to Pattaya Park Tower: They charge 200 baht more for foreigners to eat in the revolving restaurant, and for most other activities. It's a bit annoying if you're also paying for a group of Thai people to eat or partake in other activities there. It's not like you're going to refuse if you're with the girlfriend's family.

Stop bitching about dual pricing for foreigners
I'll call your comment stupid, bringing up the racist card for no reason whatsoever. Anyone without a Thai citizen ID card or proof of residency (eg, Thai driver's licence) pays the foreigner rate. That includes SE Asians and all other Asians. How is that racist?

Thai girl was totally shameless
ffs, are you still going on about the girl you can't have and have to share? It's about time you posted a photo of the two of you together so we can see how handsome you are and how beautiful she is.
-
Thai girl was totally shameless
Oh, you just edited your post to add some profanity. Thanks! I'm not trying to help you, but point out how pathetic you are. I enjoyed pointing that out.

Thai girl was totally shameless
Not your skies. You're getting old and in denial. Don't worry, it will only get harder from here.

Thai girl was totally shameless
Just for the record, what is any "normal woman"? You're dealing with a different language, religion and culture. Most likely, you're dealing with an uneducated woman who understands the power of her attraction. She is high on the power she has over men. Maybe you need to ply your trade in your home country, where everyone seems "normal" to you and behaves as you expect. At 54, unless you are at least a multi-millionaire, you're not coming anywhere near a 25-year-old in your home country.
-
Thai girl was totally shameless
The fact that you think you're handsome and look 20 years younger than your biological age underscores your massive ego. That's the only problem here. You can't believe your pretty face and wallet are enough to capture the interest of the young lady you're obsessed with. She can find many men who are actually 35 and under, many of whom are more handsome than you and possibly richer. You can't win 'em all. She's not mercenary just because she's not into you. It also has nothing to do with ethics. She's doing the best she can with the talents she has in a country where getting ahead is not easy. In another 5-10 years, her value will have diminished. Time is of the essence. Did you consider she might be taking care of a large and poor family somewhere in the provinces?

Thai girl was totally shameless
It's incredible how naive you are. This hot young lady knows her worth and is going to use it while it lasts. It's not about jumping on penises... that's stupid talk. It's the bank accounts connected to the penises she's interested in, not the sex. If she wants sex, she can find some very handsome young men to take care of that anytime she likes. Believe it or not, a lot of Thai women prefer Thai men for sex. She's probably already hooked up with a Thai man to take care of that part of her life. She might be in love with a Thai man and fleecing foreigners for him. When Thai ladies fall in love, they are dedicated beyond belief. You're old now, get over it. Do you like having sex with 54-year-old women? Probably not, so why should she be into old men like you? Just because she is Thai and you think they all should be easily exploitable? She missed nothing from you, as there are plenty of men more loaded than you, just as interested in a hot young Thai woman. Shame on you! Your ego has taken a hit.
