You are right in 20 years in Thailand we don't have male or even female friends to hang around with, Some reasons are that they can't /don't like to speak English and they are not willing to teach you Thai, There is a class system in Thailand and some Thais think that we are different class lower or higher than they are. And the definition of friendship is something different than we are used in our homecountry.. We have given up already a long time ago.

Why should Schengen help anybody to get a job?? Is Thailand helping people who live here to get a job?? Besides When you have a long term visa than you can work in almost any job you want as here in Thailand only allowed to work in 1 job and all the rest is working without a work permit.. Best example was the Norwegian woman who had a workpermit as a manager but was not allowed to drop of some people at the airport an was arrested for that... How outdated can laws be??

Dutchcheese4you in Hua Hin has several kinds of really good cheese products.. sausages and other .. Only online orders but quick deliveries. I am happy with them as Makro Hua Hin has got rid of all the cheeses except Mozarella and Parmasan

Good job Mr Setthra, but first update your visa system and labour permissions, for the long term tourists, ban the alcohol sales hours and days, stop the scams and double pricings, and welcome tourists instead of chasing them like it is going on now.. Don't see tourists as intruders and lawbreakers or ATM's

With a Schengen visa for a long time you don't need a work permit... Workpermits are only given for people who do jobs Thais can't do here in Thailand and as Thai can do everything it is very difficult to get a work permit and have to wait at least 2 months. Outdated laws indeed.. Thailand keeps everything teh same and doesn't renew at all

Go get the RTP... get every foreigner that does something.. use the soft power to promote Thailand as the hub of tourism and outdated laws with same outdated fines....

Thailand however is not a democracy but a totalitarian system that will silence everybody that is against it... The army and cronies will decide how things are going and I am sure that in a few years maybe things will start to change but there will be a lot casualties and than they have to rebuilt the country which normally takes about 35 to 50 years....

I would too agree to get a fine if everybody in Thailand was wearing a helmet, and had a driverslicense... Not because you are not Thai you get fined but we leave the Thai to do as they want...Start to solve the problems with your own people first before sticking to the laws with only foreigners as victims

No I am not looking for a job, but volunteer work is no work... sweeping leaves at the temple or helping out people without payment.. You are not retired yet so you will not understand...

But you are not working in the shop/restaurant... see what happens if you don't have a workpermit..Examples enough even today on this forum

So you claim work till you die or retire and do nothing.. Everything you name sounds nice but it is not...Try to play bridge..or even try to get or bring friends or family to the airport. last week you read what will happen. Even working in the garden or cleaning is not allowed as it is a protected job and the views are being disturbed by boing boing boing music from miles away... Siting on the beach or in coffeeshop after 14.00 you can't buy a beer or something till 17.00. No nothing is allowed in fact so tell me why should people come to THailand to retire
