Independence referendum: Scottish government loses indyref2 court case
JayClay replied to Scott's topic in World News
It was not unexpected that somebody would try and twist my words. Death is a fact of the world we live in. My post was an 100% objective commentary on the situation as it exists. Nothing more, nothing less. The people who grew older and voted for Brexit were generally looking through rose-tinted glasses at what they remember as the "good old days" before joining the EU, ignoring the fact that the world is a completely different place than it was back then. The people who will be the older generation when we next join will have lived having originally been a member of the single market, enjoying visa free, hassle free travel and all the financial benefits it brings. Then it was all taken away from them. Therefore the reverse will be true. I don't know if it'll take 5 years or 20, but eventually we'll rejoin, without all the special privileges we had the first time around. And the whole of the country will have to wonder what was it all for in the first place. -

And if you break it down by age group it gets way more interesting. The only demographic keeping Brexit remotely alive in public support are the 50+. They won't be around for ever... -

The same thing that happens if your wallet gets lost, stolen or forgotten at home; you can't have the product or service for which you wish to pay for. -

These two are pretty much mutually exclusive so you'll have to pick which is more important to you. -
Thai soccer fans will get to see all the 64 World Cup soccer matches

I'm not going to go through 4 pages of responses to see if this has been said before so sorry if I'm duplicating anything but I'm pretty sure 3bb stream all the network TV channels from their website for their customers. At least I'm sure they used to when I was with them a few years ago. It might be worth taking a look through their website. -
It's down to you and your social group when you want to celebrate; there's no official Christmas here anyway. If you're looking to have a traditional anglo Christmas dinner then the American, British and Irish places will most probably be serving on 25th. I would guess Scandinavian places will do their thing on 24th. If you're just looking to have a few beers with some girls in santa hats then probably anytime late December would be just fine.

A different definition of the word "confirm" than I'm generally used to... -
Yes. 0bt is quite an expense.... Not to mention the fact they never have the correct notes for your change and need to bounce about between the other tills to find it. The idea that QR payments is slower is just confirmation bias; somebody doesn't like the system so they remember the one or two times that the customer wasn't prepared at the checkout* and therefore the transaction took longer than usual. *I, yesterday, was the evil queue hog yesterday as I had to pay with QR because when I came to open my bag I realized I'd forgotten my wallet and therefore had no cash on me. In these situations of course it will take a bit longer than usual... Although I still think it was quicker than a typical cash transaction.

You can't reason with these people. They can see the place burning around them but they will always find somebody or something else to blame, no matter how ridiculously implausible their chosen scapegoat is.

When you apply for your visa for the UK you provide your itinerary as part of the visa application. If you intend to make multiple trips you should probably say so at application time. If you just provide an itinerary for a single trip and make multiple trips, that could potentially cause difficulties with future applications.

...I thought of rephrasing the post which you quoted but I can't really find any way to make the wording any clearer. Perhaps some formatting might help, though. "I doubt it would actually italicize your own name while you were replying; unless you checked with somebody else while you were in the process?"

PayPal no longer available to foreigners in Thailand
JayClay replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Call me pedantic but I expect an article summary to at least explain the headline without needing to follow a link to find out what they're supposed to be talking about. The post as-is can very easily conclude that PayPal are doing away with personal accounts altogether ("In order to comply with the regulations, only those with a registered business account would be able to use PayPal to send and receive money") Not only is this information apparently incorrect, it also gives no indication of why a business account opened by a foreigner can't be used. -
PayPal no longer available to foreigners in Thailand

Okay. The Thai ID wasn't mentioned in the OP. If it was simply that you need a legally registered business then it wouldn't have been specifically stopping foreigners. -

So which part of this excludes foreigners from being able to use the service?
