  1. From the era of Bert and Graham and Don etc Philip Brady one of the last real old school variety types still alive at 85.
  2. The dog he is dead. April 1986. Simon Townsend now 78.
  3. In 2012 it was choice between 2 different types of normal. Now it's a choice between somewhat normal and out there weird, stupid, ignorant and dangerous. Someone who couldn't accept the outcome of an election. Someone who supports dictators. That's what Trumpies struggle with - Trump is really different. Swift appears to be intelligent enough to see that.
  4. The Little Monster thing is Lady Gaga in case you missed that. To be honest I know very little about Taylor Swift - heard a couple of songs that sound like stock standard pop - surprised you know the intimacies of her so called promiscuity but if that interests you no worries.
  5. You see what you see. A big part of her appeal was freedom, inclusiveness, support amongst the Little Monster fanbase, nice things happy things, not gonna attract a 59 year old guy like me but not meant too. I think it's only sad if any older or tired out person tries too hard to fit in with the young and spritely and not act consistently with who they are at that age. Some might say this is an apt description for many frazzled expats in Thailand but that's a different story..
  6. Lady Ga Ga is no 6 right now in the Billboard charts in a duet . Not my cup of tea but extremely talented. See her perform live. Some appalling lame comments by you about women - stick to lame comments about right wing politics please.
  7. She sounds lonely, a bit lost, and is dealing with it in a bit of a childish manner. Did you mention the age difference? Is she meeting new people? Working? Can you get her some contact with other thai women her age in the local area? If none of that helps and she wants to go back to Thailand to live - ask yourself if you want to - and if its practical financially - and if she really wants you to come too - and if not maybe let her go and be done with it. Might be a relatively low cost separation if she is happy to go back.
  8. But be realistic. Though I agree a bit you've got to sell yourself a bit at some point to seal the deal with some girls - who may not be total gold diggers but simply after a secure relationship and secure future.
  9. Wow Frank. You don't like freedom of the individual it seems. Now not sure if you are trolling or further in the extreme than I imagined.
  10. My experience of airlines from Australia e.g. Qantas and Jetstar - is that if you pay a certain fare and if you fly at a certain level - this normally includes all business class - there is no problem changing the date with no fee and it is not a new ticket with new conditions as such. The cost depends on the going price of the day - more demand - higher fare - lower demand - they'll change the date with no price difference. But it could be he is flying an airline that is more in line with your experience so I'll leave it there.
  11. Let him face the charges please. It would irk me to see Jack do all that work for nothing.
  12. I think you know but it is simply that if you look at available flights it might be $1000 on Day 1 and $1588 on Day 30. You booked Day 1 but want to change from Day 1 to Day 30 - there's no penalty or change fee it's just that Day 30 is more in demand and the price is higher. Waiting doesn't help as the price tends to go up as it fills up.
  13. I just completed this quiz. My Score 44/100 My Time 114 seconds
  14. Not all were reviled. Bush and Cheney yes. Took many Trumpies much longer to do so than Democrats - they seemed to wait till after Trump said it. Before then those Trumpy types and their right wing media were the most gung ho on Iraq. Romney was never reviled beyond being the leader of the Republicans and putting his dog on the roof of his car. Pence because of his support of Trump but he stood up when it counted. Your logic is that only bad Republicans - reviled by all now - support Kamala but of course there's many who don't fit your categorisation. See Lincoln Project. You then say there are people on this site that are like your examples that you describe as human garbage apparently because they are voting for Kamala. What a mess of a post.
  15. My logic: x leaves y with a big problem. x didn't cause the original problem but dealt with it poorly and left y with a bigger than necessary mess to fix up. Your logic: y said x left them with a big problem. Therefore y is saying x caused the problem in it's entirety. The first one is a better logic in my opinion.
  16. Tariffs as a form of protectionism is a very strange Republican policy. Not exactly free markets. The only justification in my mind is in a particular industry if the supplier - such as China - is assisting their companies and making a non level playing field - allowing them to sell at unrealistic prices - and the American company can't compete - but to put them so broadly based is odd. He keeps saying the seller pays but it is of course the American importer who pays then passes the burden to the consumer. But to be honest I don't think he has such principles even on these or even deeply understands his own policies. Immigration is a crowd pleaser he uses well. I don't think he cares - likes the cheap labour for his hotels and for the wealthy benefactors but sees being tough works so goes with it.
  17. Poor logic. Saying someone didn't deal with something as effectively as might be and left you with a bigger problem than might be is not the same as saying someone is necessarily responsible for that something in the first place.
  18. I know that's how Trump is but what of Kamala. Everything you say about principles is a hundred fold for Trump. Time tested as President for 4 years and the aftermath when he wouldn't accept the outcome.
  19. Often the rushers think they are special in some way - important, wealthy, or whatever. Or they are tall like me and walk fast and look back to find their girlfriend 300 metres away.
  20. I couldn't see a reference to the both sides thing in the debate but it may be there. Trump saying if he doesn't get elected it's going to be a bloodbath for the country - noting it then as a decision about cars - is odd terminology - but I take your point . Point is he made lots of other lies and dodgy comments that weren't picked up - Harris confiscating guns, claims around the lost election and voter fraud, etc. I think things like immigrants eating pets, migrant crime and his comments on abortion are highly contentious and worthy of being picked up. If she made similar one off extreme claims I say she would have been picked up.
  21. They called him out on really extreme lies. Boo hoo.
  22. Lets hope the right wing media such as the good people at Fox News report this information too.
