The link didn't work for me but I watched the opening of Saturday Night Live with the Trump bit - which it appears you are referring too - and it seemed pretty tame and obvious. Saturday Night Live ain't what it was. You say Trump is going to tear them all down . Stopping free speech doesn't sound like something you would want surely.

You make some ok points - and some I disagree with - but what made you go all serious in the last 2 sentences ? This apparently came from the National Museum of African American History and Culture which is in Washington D C . Not some right wing youtuber. Some of the points are about a range of people's subconscious attitudes - no need to take it too literally or to the extreme so that whites who relate to this are good or bad or inclusive or racist. I think - for example - though many don't see themselves as Christian or religious at all - the Christian attitudes still prevail in our lives and thinking - for good or bad.

The little I know of pop culture I think Billie is much more 'cool' than Taylor and her audience would be very likely skewed towards Kamala. Trump and the whole Republican agenda is the anathema of what she is about. But if she can get them to enrol and vote - when they might not be bothered otherwise - that's cool.

You may now agree with the old timers advice because it is sage advice or because now you are an old timer.

I posted this elsewhere showing that Trump himself accepts the loss as per rally in North Carolina a couple of days ago. Could it be that you can always pick some stats to make things look unusual but if there's no evidence then be gracious in defeat. Took Trump 4 years to at least accept it. We did much better, by the way, in the election of 2020, than we did in 2016. Just remember that. Millions and millions of votes more — more votes than any sitting president in the history of our country. But they beat us by a whisker. They beat us just by a little whisker. He beat us from the basement. https://www.mediaite.com/trump/trump-admits-he-lost-2020-election-after-backtracking-he-beat-us-from-a-basement/

Will Harris' Leadership Unite or Divide the Nation?

I saw that from the Fridman interview a few weeks ago then he backtracked. But in the last couple of days in North Carolina he admitted again saying We did much better, by the way, in the election of 2020, than we did in 2016. Just remember that. Millions and millions of votes more — more votes than any sitting president in the history of our country. But they beat us by a whisker. They beat us just by a little whisker. Gobbler I think most big newspapers have lots of good reporters and writers with integrity. I get really sick of the Main stream media bad narrative. They are mainstream because they gained credibility and readership. In the pre internet age the papers of course had all the real estate and car ads and made so much money they could afford huge investigations and take time with stories. My local newspaper the Age in Australia used to be huge on a Saturday. But that revenue often later went to cheaper specialist sites and social media. Then of course general advertising in the news and sports section suffered as readership fell and many get all there news from social media and the latter often don't pay the creators being the newspapers what they should. People don't want to pay to access the news too. They have to do much more which much less and quality of output suffers I suppose except for the really big papers.

Australian Aged Pension

I wonder if you asked for 7 months it might be different. If your working or have other income there's the medicare surcharge levy which kicks in for the months you suspend too which makes it less worthwhile. -

Your post was something I had never considered. I have had a look and can't see something that says that but it doesn't clearly say that it is ok too. -

Can I ask what you mean? You mean they took money out of their super after retirement and spent it or put it somewhere so they were within the limit by the time they get to 67. Are you saying you think you should have to take it as an income stream or something. -
Keep in mind as you likely know it is the Fed decision to cut interest rates - not politicians. It may not be good for the dollar in the short term - it is a hopeful sign of beating inflation and is a boon to the economy and spending power of borrowers.

Your style of posting irks me. You have made a vague opinion with no specific reference to the terms of the Double Tax Agreement. You simply post it without a reference to items that indicate the age pension - that is clearly a form of taxable income - is excluded. What contract law skills are on exhibition in your post? You make a vague comment that many tax professionals agree with you and some don't. What is one supposed to make of that but it's simply unhelpful words. -

Your experience in contracts would normally mean you would not have an opinion positive or negative - based on the agreement itself - unless you can point to a paragraph that suggests it is excluded. You say other tax lawyers think it is excluded - but apparently none of them put it to writing. So your opinion appears to be based on heresay which is fine but keep in mind that is based on past experience and we are talking about proposed new laws. I am not saying it is or not but I can't see anything to exclude it and apparently you can't either. -

Trump Too Scared To Debate Harris Again

The post you responded to referred to CNN. The first debate on CNN with Biden was fair was it not? I thought the second debate was fair too - all your candidate had to do was not tell extreme outlandish fibs that had to be corrected. It surprises me he is not doing a second debate - he has the advantage to have a go at the government in power now - seems odd he doesn't want it - maybe the Trump self confidence is waning a bit.- 165 replies

Does Donald Trump Have Dementia?
Fat is a type of crazy replied to Danderman123's topic in Political Soapbox
I disagree. He seems pretty much the same to me. The odd slur in speech and weird turn of phrase but say 1000's of words in public and see how you go. He has always been a silly duffer far as I can tell. Dementia is a serious thing that shouldn't be bandied about as a description of someone. -
I think you are assuming there's a lot more going on under the hood than there actually is.

I think younger people - particularly up to say 35 - are more likely to care about moral issues as well as hip pocket stuff - she got them thinking about voting - registered - and ready to vote. The morality of multiple partners which seems to excite some here is small fry to a certain audience compared to the morality of women's rights, women's health and the perceived moral standing of each candidate.
