What phone do you have now? What is your budget? Which bank app? Which service provider do you use now? This needs clarification. What does this app require which your current phone does not provide, but which a new phone must provide? More helpful to hear what you do use your phone for?

No, not donuts, we're talking about burger franchises.

Silpakorn Uni rector resigns over sexual harassment allegation
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
from the article. Still unclear if he really resigned, yet. -
Off to review the constitution du jour. Don't believe it allows for a "substitute" pm? Sec. 168 <talks about a pm vacating the office> and the Permanent Secretaries shall elect one person among themselves to perform duties as Prime Minister. Sounds ominous. He's already shot himself in the foot a dozen times. Does he plan to aim higher?

KERRY: (Phone cannot be reached - Our courier will try to deliver again)
mtls2005 replied to Dario's topic in General Topics
CoD provides an extra incentive for everyone to insure a timely delivery. The final hub is 70 Km away? Ouch. With only one delivery vehicle - I hope it's not a motorbike - and the rising fuel prices you mention, I can see them struggling to make deliveries. -
KERRY: (Phone cannot be reached - Our courier will try to deliver again)
mtls2005 replied to Dario's topic in General Topics
Do you prepay or use CoD? Have you received any packages from Kerry? You receive deliveries from other logistics companies? Thai Post? You use your wife's mobile number? I assume her phone is in working order and that she can receive calls? And no missed calls? Is a delivery driver identified - they usually are by name? Maybe give them a visit bearing gifts and foodstuffs. And tip the driver 20 baht going forward. I'd complain to the seller, they can put pressure on Lazada and/or Kerry. -

Depends on status. And your relationship with the powers that be. Sure even heinous criminals from the upper reaches occasionally get prosecuted, but with good behavior and royal pardons, they walk after having served quite short terms. And seem to slide right back into previous jobs and society. You also get a 50% discount if you plead guilty. And only the rich folks get bail, all others languish in jail.

You are of course free to choose where you eat. I've eaten at Shake Shack once; I thought it was EXCELLENT. I'm more of a Five Guys guy. Foreign Burger franchises seem to come an go here, I honestly can't remember them all. Carl's Jr and A&W pulled out of thailand recently, obviously impacted by COVID. Some Canadian franchise had a brief go I think? Big Boy is hanging on. While Hong Kong based, they took over the Starbucks franchise here with local thai partner F&N ~ three years ago. I assume they'll have some thai-centric burger option like they do in Korea for example. Hopefully something tasty and imaginative?

TAT Eyes Leveraging Soft Power to Attract Quality International Tourists
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The transition from the "Sufficiency Economy" to "Soft Power" must be disappointing for the ultra-nationalists. -
I think that when they announce any mask-relief here it will be big news and everyone will be aware of the change. For now, the Emergency Decree mask mandate remains in force. But take a look around, if it's 50-50 in say a public park then up to you. It will be interesting to see if the CCSA remains in power, and if the Emergency Decree is extended yet again. We should know in the week or two.

Thailand to Implement 300-Baht Fee for Foreign Arrivals
mtls2005 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Certainly thai citizens should expect something beneficial from this potentially massive (6 billion baht in 2023 from 20 m tourists) government collection of fees? Or are you suggesting it will be 100% embezzled? -

I'm not sure what's worse.. this old faht is a perv that he has a messaging chain with which he shares his photos for drooling he doesn't know about flight attendant pron on the interwebs' He should resign in shame. In Japan he'd take the noble path, but not this Klown. -
Yeah, this alone should be enough to indicate you failed. I mean unless there's seating in the cargo hold for what employees refers to us as self-load freight. Counting these flights on free web sites can be challenging. And you've got to filter code-shares and cargo-only flights. The quoted figures in the OP pass the smell test. Many say flightradar24 has the most accurate and timely stats. Just use Arrivals, and BKK or HKT.

Thailand To Start Charging An Entry Fee From August
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In theory, this 300 baht fee could be charged at a land border. And for select nationalities, with citizens of neighboring countries, and thais of course, being exempt. Obviously the 700 baht PSC is not charged at land borders. Back in the old days, did they charge the 500 baht cash departure tax at land borders when leaving? -

Digital Minister Petitions for Revision of E-Cigarette Ban

Minister of Health to be along shortly to advice the MDES on thailand 4.0? EPIC fail. Lopburi monkeys could do a better job running the thai government. -
The brand had its hey-day. but is more aptly named the Dinosaur Party. Walking amber. Haven't had a modern, cohesive or appealing message in decades. Maybe step back, figure out who you want to represent, and what you can do to help them. Making odd references to "modernizing thailand" and "reforming education" might have worked last century. Time for a rebrand, and a new name, and some modern, even controversial polices and platform.

Thailand To Start Charging An Entry Fee From August

This isn't insurance. It's a slush fund, a pool really, ok a massive Gulf. Hospitals with unpaid medical expenses by tourists will make a claim to the Ministry of Tourism and Sport. Yes, it will be messy. Much champing on the bit for this one. Mia nois don't work for free. -
Thailand To Start Charging An Entry Fee From August
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm not sure I'd trust "travel off the path" for details on implementation? I think they're off the mark. The simplest thing to do would be to increase the PSC from 700 baht to 1,000 baht and then have AoT/CAAT skim off the 300 and forward it the MoTaS's permanent secretary for "safe" keeping. Other reports talk of a new line item for the 300 baht, which the global GDSes will embed in the total ticket price.
