With a Schengen visa for a long time you don't need a work permit... So no one can enter the Schengen area to work without a Schengen visa, i.e. there are laws in that area that prohibit working in the area without permission. Most people can enter Thailand visa-free or VOA, Schengen area should get rid of that outdated visa requirement!
