This is a definition from the National Assoc. of (State) Insurance Commissioners in the US: A health benefit plan shall not define a preexisting condition more restrictively than: <snip> i. As noted before this topic, I am likely not repatriating to US. But some of you guys with multiple marriages and multiple families in multiple countries -- that is just way too complicated for me to comprehend. -
Thelonious Monk: Any Thoughts?

I don't know about six degrees of separation, but he was 6 blocks away: I was in west 57th and Monk was on west 63rd. -

In Colorado I also saw Sonny Rollins. But hard jazz aside, the person who has had the most influence on me playing any jazz is Pat Metheny. Saw him multiple times all over from early 80's to late 90's. (14 seconds) -

I saw Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers at a Jazz festival in Steamboat Springs CO when he had a young Wynton and Branford Marsalis on stage. Ray Charles was the headliner. -

Thelonious Monk: Any Thoughts?

Not jazz or Monk but this was from the same neighborhood: (previously Posted December 9, 2022) It was a sunny Sunday afternoon late 1970's when the West Drive to Central Park was closed to motor traffic. I was walking south when I spotted a couple to my left with their young son sitting on a bench off the road all by themselves. I said Hello! to the man without breaking stride and he gave me a big Hello! back. John Lennon with Yoko Ono and their son Sean. Still remember that moment near what is now Strawberry Fields Central Park. https://www.centralparknyc.org/locations/strawberry-fields I also once got to attend a dress rehearsal which the Opera Guild members could attend. I was walking by Lincoln Center and some older lady asked me if I wanted to go. Sure. Then after a while I heard a VOICE. Not an opera buff but I knew this was something special: Luciano Pavarotti rehearsing for his debut at the Met. -

Thoughts? Yes. He was my neighbor. http://wikimapia.org/26759636/Thelonious-Monk-Apartment I lived on West 57th St. and, on the 16th floor I could often hear scattered notes from the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center. -

But that can be a problem. Nocturnal lagophthalmos is the inability to close the eyelids during sleep. * I sleep with my eyes half opened. Can sometimes really spook someone who thinks I am dead if not fore warned. * https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16671223/ -

I was never married in US, never had son or daughter, my only remaining siblings are estranged to the point of hostile, so moving back to the US would be an extreme relocation for me. So barring that extreme , I have the best of both worlds: 12 months in Thailand and 0 months -- except for the occasional 2-3 week visit -- in US for me. -

If I were to relocate permanently to USofA, I could end up spending the rest of my life as a very lonely old man. -

My brother for a while worked for an independent Prudential (USA) insurance agent selling long-term care insurance. He said most of the buyers of such policies were by persons who had either a family member or close friend who should have bought long-term care insurance, but did not realize that until it was too late. Many more reasonable options for long-term care and not just by immediate family here in Thailand. -
I say the same about living in Isaan/rural Thailand as I did about living in rural Florida: If you didn't bring it, it ain't there.

Just to note: Causes It isn't entirely clear what causes the prostate to enlarge. However, it might be due to changes in the balance of sex hormones as men grow older. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/benign-prostatic-hyperplasia/symptoms-causes/syc-20370087 Causes of benign prostate enlargement The cause of prostate enlargement is unknown, but it's believed to be linked to hormonal changes as a man gets older. The balance of hormones in your body changes as you get older and this may cause your prostate gland to grow. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/prostate-enlargement/ ENLARGED PROSTATE CAUSES The exact cause of BPH (enlarged prostate) is not known.
