Tragic slam: Son’s stabbing spree leaves father dead in Bangkok suburb
Woof999 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
That's not a knife, it's a sword. -
Correct and as written above it must be in cash. Lack of supporting funds is one of the most common reasons for refusal, even if the initial reason for wanting to refuse was something else (history of repeated visa exempt entries for example). I've only ever been stopped by immigration once (on many many entries), and the lack of 20k in cash was the reason for refusal (regardless of Thai ATM card and app showing a lot more than 20k available instantly). The reason I was questioned was purely on passport stamps. It was pretty obvious that 20k wasn't a real issue (was about a 3rd of my monthly rent at the time, car in airport car park etc etc). EDIT: Make sure it's not in Botswanan pula or something else unusual. There were reports recently of people struggling to change Swedish (or was it Norwegian) currency, so US dollars, British pounds, local baht, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Euro etc would probably be the only ones I'd feel safe with.

You could always try the one I used, maybe they have some space. They are on route 36 just north west of Regent's School (other side of the road). Phone number 038 241 089. They did a full respray and lots of minor repairs to both metal and plastics on my old Pajero. Results were stunning.

In that case I'd definitely have it done on insurance. The increased premium for next year will pass to the new owner. I've used an amazing bodyshop with results that I would have been happy with at a top bodyshop back in the west, but they definitely ain't a quick turnaround.

The fines are so low that, not paying them pretty much makes you a muppet.

Personally I wouldn't buy a phone online unless I already knew the exact model I wanted and I knew the supplier. There must be at least 20 independent mobile phone stores within 3km of my house, plus 2 (maybe more) True stores, 2 AIS stores, several within Lotus'sssss'ss and more in Tukcom and most markets. Then there are the specific Samsung, Oppio etc brand stores dotted around. I buy 5 or 6 things a month on average from Lazada (2 today), but a phone I'd want boxed, legit, new, sealed, in my hand before I parted with any money. I once bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 from invadeit.co.th but I knew that was the phone I wanted and I had previously spend 100s of 1000s of baht with them, so there was pretty much zero risk.

Another British Pattaya Bar Owner Charged With Thai Kids
Woof999 replied to Goat's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I watched it. He should indeed face the harshest of punishments. A little interesting that you didn't mention the German pedo that was a frequent customer and also had prominent mentions (photos and more) in the video (way before the actual Brit bar owner and his Thai wife, who you also don't mention, were the focus). -
If Not TAPHOPHOBIA: What’s Your Favorite Phobia?

Thaasophobia is more likely to get in this thread. -
Business class has fully flat seats. I had a quick "go" on them on one of ^^^ those flights and they were fine. EDIT: Forgot to mention... if you're usually fine in economy seats then business might not be a good idea. You'll hate every long haul economy flight thereafter.

Trump's court and campaign schedule is looking chaotic

He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy! -
I find pretty much all economy seats unbearable after a couple of hours. Any seat that lets me lay flat (on my side or front) is worth the extra money to me (within reason). So, not being in discomfort for the majority of 13 hours inflight is worth it for me. My customers usually end up paying anyway, which makes it even more of a no-brainer. FWIW - I barely sleep even in a lie flat seat. Maybe 2 hours maximum and not particularly deep sleep, but still worth it. The Bangkok > Dubai > Bangkok legs on my last flights were with an older interior (pretty much the same as the new one, just slightly different colours and showing signs of wear), but the Heathrow legs (as you would expect) were bang up to date.

Emirates business is a huge step up from economy. I'd pay that in a heartbeat. I flew them return to UK 2 months ago in first. Next time I'd probably save the money and book business. If / when Etihad return the A380 with the first class apartments on a route I'm flying and I had the cash available then this would be my first choice. Head and shoulders above everything else.

99.99% scam. The domain they want you to go to was first registered 2 months ago. EDIT: and was registered through Singapore

So chaos was caused by a large erection in Pattaya. Surely not for the first time?

Can I use a Thai DL to hire a car in oz?
Woof999 replied to advancebooking's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
You're right, it is on mine too. Time for an eye test I guess. UK rental company didn't see it either. -

Can I use a Thai DL to hire a car in oz?
Woof999 replied to advancebooking's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Similar to the replies above, so not directly related to Aus. I was in the UK a couple of months ago. Hired a car, presented my UK driving license. Was asked for proof of UK address, which I do not have. Presented my Thai license (with of course the address in Thai so they can't read any of it) and all was good. Had IDP to support the Thai license just in case and they weren't interested in that either. I did question the logic about the proof of address (why needed on the UK license but not on the Thai license) and shoulders shrugged. -
How much monthly salary should you pay for rescuing a bar girl?
Woof999 replied to Goat's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
How much monthly salary should you pay for rescuing a bar girl? Around 1500 baht, but I'd only rescue them for an hour. -
It's becoming clearer that what you've done is formed an opinion based only on information that agrees with your own preconceived ideas. Once you take a position, no amount of new data would change your position, it's stuck there in stone. Anything that disagrees with what you believe you will label as alarmist, extreme, woke or any other similar term that tries to cast doubt on it's validity regardless of an basis in fact.
