  1. I would agree. My BeatSource preferences are set to WAV. Probably the wrong term, but I mean differences that could be similarly achieved (or removed) using an equalizer.
  2. I'm the wrong person to give a real answer. I only really hear the difference between FLAC and a decent AAC or even MP3 file when using headphones, but I rarely use them. I stream most of my music via an XDJ-XZ using BeatSource, which outputs via 8kW of Alto tweeters / subs. This setup, and my usual audience, cannot discern between a decent "old school" format and the new ones, plus the need for realtime streaming and the often lack of decent internet connectivity means that file size is at least as important as quality at times. No point in having a 100% faithful reproduction when it buffers every few seconds. To be honest, I'm a little skeptical that most people who say that can tell the quality difference between formats, especially when using speakers, are doing anything other than noticing the tonal differences, much of which are more preference based rather than quality based, but each to their own. Let us know what you decide and how you perceive the quality differences.
  3. Some interesting thoughts about the difference between FLAC and MQA here: Main takeaways for me are: 1.) MQA is lossy. 2.) Depending on the mastering, MQA might be diverging away from the original sound 3.) The "warm" sound of MQA that some like could be better achieved in equalisation without compromising quality. 4.) ie. FLAC is superior to MQA.
  4. Now the Yanks know how we feel about them ripping off and bastardising our language.
  5. Or perhaps people that don't want their every whereabouts and every purchase to be recorded for eternity. Cashless payments are wonderful for governments, LEA, advertisers and of course can be convenient for users, but you can be almost sure that data is used for nefarious reasons too. Data is everything. It is not just sitting there waiting for the end of a clawback period to then be deleted.
  6. Profile says seller has been on Lazada for 2 years but doesn't have enough data for seller or ship on time rating. Chat response rating is 50%, which I'm not sure I've ever seen lower.
  7. Not wanting to point out the bleeding obvious, but ensuring they can shoot you is probably not the #1 item they should work on to gain the public's trust.
  8. In an IT company a couple of decades ago, we used to have internet radio on. Radio stops, internet likely down. Even better in your scenario as it's at a remote location, so you wont be able to hear the radio, which will make it less annoying ????
  9. The airport might tell everyone who will listen that, but I don't think its true. It did have somewhat of a captive market during COVID and so it's numbers increased dramatically, as did prices, with service levels dropping to match. Realistically before and now, it's probably in the top 50 worldwide, below airports such as Antalya, Munich, London Gatwick. Still pretty busy though.
  10. That's kind of missing the point. Taking foreigners out of the picture, a Thai not being able to do what they can do on the other 360 days of the year, in their own country, because of the beliefs of someone else is just plain wrong.
  11. Grout without sand in larger gaps will often crack. The sand makes the grout stronger and less likely to shrink - hence the lack of cracks. Never heard of Dinasty, but the usual suspects such as Thai Watsadu, Home Pro or Boonthavorn (an often overlooked supplier) will have what you need.
  12. Don't take it personally. You were not the first by a long shot and you definitely wont be the last. Whether you did or didn't do anything to deserve it often doesn't make much difference.
  13. If you do buy an MG (they seem great value for money) then please please please do not put a "Morris Garages" decal on it. Growing up in the UK during the MG "heyday", and now decades later with 9 years in Thailand, I've only just gotten around to seeing MG as a viable brand again. That was until I started seeing the full name emblazoned as if it were prestigious.
  14. If that's true and they didn't have a new location ready to go before closing Beach Road... someone needs firing.
  15. Not a direct answer to your question, but if I'm travelling for several weeks I'll get a private car to the airport and back. Anything 2 weeks or less I use the short term parking which is directly in front of the terminal at 250 baht per day. The logic is, short term is still cheap. Long term, private taxi (for me at least) is cheaper than parking anyway and much more convenient.
  16. lol @ the forum nasty word deleter that means you can't type Matsush$ta.
  17. Because very few electronics run at mains voltage. Some (like microwave magnetrons) work at much higher voltages, but the vast majority will be at 5v, 12v, 24v or something much lower, so there will almost always be a transformer (or a more modern switching power supply) somewhere in the loop.
  18. There's no way the synthesizer works off native 110V, so there is already at least one transformer in use. If this was a long term project (ie not just wanting to use it as a one off), I'd be tempted to open it up and get a decent electrical person to change the internal power conversion (assuming it's not an external power supply, in which case the whole problem is easy to solve). It should be a pretty simple job. Are you 100% sure there's not a 110/240 switch on it somewhere, or it already accepts a wide range of voltage / hz?
  19. If the Italians want to be that anal about their pizza, maybe it should be illegal to eat it outside of Italy? Maybe it should be illegal for non-Italians to eat? If I put pineapple on my pizza (which I often do), how does it affect, offend or even have anything to do with anyone else? Never did understand why (often non Italians) give a monkey's about it. Anchovies, on the other hand...
  20. Keep it for a rainy day, or for when someone might stay a few days and need their own PC. Unless you're soon in need of a few thousand baht, the hassle of the sale for a relatively low gain possibly isn't worth the hassle. Having said all that, I know a number of people here for whom 3000 baht is the difference between a good month and a normal month. If that's the case then put it on Facebook marketplace for 6000 baht and see what comes your way.
  21. It is 1000% a scam link. The wording of the email says this. The way they present the date. The way they sign off as "The Microsoft account team" (bad use of capitals), the way that the link is presented in the email and more. If you think this email has even 5% chance of being real, take a free online "spot scams and phishing attempts" course. You'll be able to spot them so much easier afterwards.
  22. I wonder what the punishment will be? The Aussie guy got ~50k baht fines / fees and a 2 month suspended prison sentence for breaking a wing mirror in Phuket, so is this castration and the death sentence?
  23. Jump, you fecker jump. Jump into this 'ere blanket that we are holding, and you will be alright. So he jumped, hit the deck, broke his <deleted> neck. There was no blanket. Laugh, I nearly sh..... anyone remember that classic?
  24. I think it should be the governments job to do as much as practicable to stop any unnecessary road death. If it were all about personal choice and responsibility then there would be no need for alcohol laws etc.
  25. When all is said and done, it really isn't anyone else's business. How many guys who think they married a "normal" girl know everything about their past? I don't know my wife's complete history 100% and I don't really care. Met her almost 9 years ago and been together pretty much ever since. She's charming and probably the most popular among her wide ranging friends, based on the number of invitations she (and we) get to do things. I know of many girls here who some might call normal who are out on 2 or 3 "dates" each week with different guys, often putting out. When I was in my 20s I'd probably have thought "slag", but since then I've grown up and view all by their individual qualities, not by my own moral standards which, when I'm totally honest, don't really exist.
