Bangkok airports hit turbulence: Ranked among world’s worst
it is what it is replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
been using it since it opened and can honestly say i've never had any issues or problems with the airport itself of immigration. it's not the best airport, it's not the worst, it's busy sometimes but then aren't all major airports busy sometimes? i know it's subjective, but it doesn't have the most aesthetically pleasing or comfortable interior design, but it is basically fit for purpose. -
Help requested- Long stay Thailand.
it is what it is replied to Scouse123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
is this legal? should such activities be condoned and promoted on this forum? -
oh the irony, the over reaction to a fairly minor, if unpleasant and unnecessary incident, resulting in nationwide criticism of the behavior of tourists (foreigners) unearths (brings to light once again) the far more damaging specter of the endemic culture of corruption within thai society. and while i absolutely do not condone the swiss man's behaviour, i would suggest thais get a bit more vocal and proactive about tackling corruption.

Thailand announces extra holiday to boost Songkran economy
it is what it is replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
there is no evidence that road deaths and injuries increase over songkran, they remain relatively consistent with the rest of the year. the 'increase' in deaths is media hype put about by lazy 'journalists' who refuse to research before they write. next! -
Pakistani man arrested for posting nude pictures of Thai ex-wife
it is what it is replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
you'd be surprised how many couples take and exchange explicit photos and videos. i've been in relationships back home and here where this was the norm. as long as there is consent and trust it's fine. -
i've been using Nord for a few years, needed support initially to get it up and running and their support was excellent. since then no issues, easy to use and effective for all uk tv channels. i managed to get a great deal with them, 3 years for 90GBP

Imagine this ! I would buy one
it is what it is replied to kwak250's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
That exact post was on facebook, here was the reply... This new invention the ICE has poor torque at low revs, so we will fit gears to compensate, it is noisy and vibrates tiring its occupants, so we will fit mufflers and sound proofing, We will no longer get up in the morning to a vehicle fully fueled and ready to go so we will have to visit smelly petrol stations every week, queue up and fill with highly explosive hydrocarbons that the ICE will explode in something with 100 times more moving parts than our EV's producing poisonous gases in the process. Our new ICE will be unreliable because of all the moving parts and more than 10 times likely to catch fire. Yes, how excited people will be. ICE still sounds like the prefered option to me.- 169 replies

Internet on pc out in the countryside
it is what it is replied to petermik's topic in IT and Computers
use your phone as a hotspot, make sure you have a data heavy package. next. -
i know, the QR code payment system used here is so clunky, involving faffing around scanning, typing in amounts, showing phone the the vendor... it's so impractical and slow, and another example of badly designed technology making a process slower and more inefficient. good old cash, sometimes you can't beat it.

No charging option in condo - Need advice
it is what it is replied to Dewey's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
before you bought the car either you knew there would be a charging issue and didn't resolve it, or you simply didn't plan ahead. you're playing catch up because of your lack of forethought, so don't expect others to jump to solve a problem of your own making. having said that, this should be a wake up call to your condo management that charging facilities will be a service they will be expected to provide in the future, and a marketing/sales benefit in attracting new owners. -

How Many Foreigners Living in Thailand
it is what it is replied to Mike Lister's topic in General Topics
The mystery of exactly how many expats live in Thailand sine when has this been a mystery? and why would it be a mystery? -
generally don't tip, but i give to charity, to those in genuine need. i don't expect a tip for 'doing my job', so why should others? if you don't like the salary of your job i get another one, i would.

it is actually quite common for thai students to change schools, certainly amongst my thai friend's in bangkok and i've not heard any issues from the children or parents. children can be more resilient than you think. incidentally, i went to three primary schools and three secondary schools, and it didn't harm me. 😁
