  1. is thailand vaccinating by occupation cohort rather than age/medical/vulnerable persons cohort?
  2. every country changes over time; thailand is no dfferent. some changes are benefitial and some detrimental. the thailand 16 years prior to the OP arriving - i visited over 25 years ago, was in many ways much better then when the OP arrived, did it stop him? for some the glass is half full, and for some half empty, thankfully i'm the former.
  3. If the government’s economic stimulus measures can draw a million foreign experts and those of high economic potential to the country in five years, economic benefit of 1 trillion baht will be created, with 800 billion baht from domestic spending and 270 billion baht from tax revenue collection. The funds result from personal income tax collection, value-added tax (VAT) and investment tax. the government certainly enjoys coming up with sums to support their over optimistic financial forecasts
  4. exactly why many countries have decided not to go down this road, in practical terms almost unworkable
  5. handily, you can report an crime, and get a crime number, online in my home country; quick, easy and efficient.
  6. internet access is so cheap, who care about free internet while shopping? there are plenty of other coffee shops. amazon coffee is awful anyway. buy your veg somewhere else, pleanty of places. it sounds like you're living in thiland, why not try learning th language? but mainly; chill out.
  7. a very recent u turn, ministers were talking it up a few days ago. i'm sure the government here is capable of doing similar once the reality and practicality dawn...
  8. other factors are also relevant e.g. age, pre-existing health issues, obesity,
  9. the legality wouldn't be my first thought, my first thought would be; is this a sensible thing to do?
  10. having set up two businesses, both successful, in completely different fields, the most important first steps for me were; know your market and produce a detailed and realistic business plan, then go through these phases; build, test, rescale.
  11. investments in any climate can go up or down; make sure you know what you're doing, pick your level of risk and take your chances, most people i know are well up on their investments
  12. how about you publishing a photo of yourself when criticising the appearance of others? i bet you wont.
  13. agree, but what law are you reffering to? is it illegal to demonstrate in thailand?
  14. i've always been able to pay expired notes into my uk account, no problems. i've often taken thai friend's old notes back home to exchange. https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/exchanging-old-banknotes
  15. from a thai perspective the hoops are not ridiculous but necesssary, it's clear they are, as many other coutries did and do, protecting their health service. the governmrnt knows the health service would be incapable of dealing with a large number of covid patients as there have been in other countries. people can go on holiday, it's not for me but many of my friend's and their families have recently been on holiday, just not to thailand thailand needs to sort out their vaccination programme, simple as that. they could also invest in improving health care but i doubt that's a priority...
  16. it was probably built on sand, that's why it collapsed...
  17. Apps are Dominant and will replace Internet soon. how will you download and update apps without the internet? how will apps get data/information without the internet?
  18. not correct, it's not binary. vaccines prevent diseases that can be dangerous, or even deadly. Vaccines greatly reduce the risk of infection by working with the body’s natural defenses to safely develop immunity to disease. this website explains how vaccines work and will assist your understanding; https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/conversations/understanding-vacc-work.html
  19. being no expert iv'e owned many brands, never had a problem with any of them, the only problems i've ever had are when microsoft wants to repalace the OS, never again. in my experience you get what you pay for, important things seems to be the processor - speed, and storage - small storage can soon get bunged up with software/apps/updates, and if you want to save photos/videos you'll need space - i like to have them on had as well as on the cloud.
  20. The same applies to Dengue. So should we all get periodic Dengue tests 'just to be safe?' really? since when was dengue fever transmittable human to human? do you know what dengue fever is?!
  21. correct, i dont know anyone who hasn't made additional financial arrangements for their post work life, it's a no brainer.
