  1. how long before accountability is dodged as the mysterious men in black reappear?
  2. agree, it's better than nothing, though i wouldn't hold my breath for the masses to be offered something better. but who knows, hopefully i'm wrong.
  3. depends on what his expctations were, what his performance benchmark was, if they were very low then i can see how he thinks things have gone well.
  4. assume they have planned for this eventuality with 'nightingale' style hospitals/healthcare facilities they can bring online and staff as needed.
  5. agree with you, my thai friend's, and indeed their children - some of them very brave, support the protests, and as with your friends they express very frank views which cannont be repeated here.
  6. 250 volunteer pool sounds small, AZ used over 11,000. i seem to remember somewhere that that a recent request for volunteers was inundated with responses, will they be able to adequately cover all age groups with such a small number?
  7. does this mean the 'opening in 120 days' plan is still on course? what is the % vaccinated threshold before opening up the country can begin?
  8. for fake news read comments, often accurate, critical of the government
  9. it will probably sell government bonds (or gilts) as many other countries do.
  10. true story; my ex was a lawyer, when she was at uni her friend got a job as an intern at the anti-money laundering department. she was so shocked by the blatant corruption going on there she waked out.
  11. if you're going to own a pet you need to go into it with your eyes open. it is very likey that your pet will, at some time or other, require tretment by a vet, and understand that vets are not cheap. you have a choice; take out pet insurance or self insure. if you dont take vets bills into account when getting a pet, or complain when you have to pay when your pet is unwell, then possibly you should not own a pet in the first place.
  12. do you mean someone asking in an official capacity or simply small talk? though either way i'm happy to say i'm fully jabbed, and to thank all those who made it possible.
  13. being thai is not relevant, males around the world are prone to these massive overeactions, for example, in the states, usually men, go on shooting sprees often killing random friends, family, work colleagues or strangers simply becasue they are unhappy about something.
  14. u turns are not the safest design of road, but probabaly the cheapest and easiest to implement. they do require drivers to be paying attention when approaching them; look for vehicles slowing down ahead, be aware that trucks, and especially those with trailers, turn slowly and have wide turing circles so need to take up a lot of the road. if you run into something infront of you, you are probabaly driving too close to it, or too driving too quickly, or both.
  15. kits shoud be provided free of charge by central government, as in many countries, widescale and effective testing is a key pillar of getting on top of this pandemic.
  16. this logistical plan should have been in place months ago. hope they've thought about training enough people to deliver the vaccines, in the uk there was a huge training programme to ensure there were enough qualified jabbers in place.
  17. i'm sure the economy will recover pretty quickly, the uk economy in Q2 grew by 4.8%, but all predictions are baseless until the vaccine programme is stepped up with a reliable supply of vaccine, only then will forecasts have some relevance.
  18. sad that you dont feel love from your child, you dont say how old the child is? many couples stay together for the sake of the child - with varying results. if the child only has a few more years of education then it may be worth trying to make it work - after all you and your wife are the adults. if not, and you dont have love from your wife or child it may be time to move on.
  19. instead of complaining after the fact consider being more proactive in an animals well being. take the cat to the vet yourself and discuss how seriously ill the animal is and potential treatments, and therefore manage the cost. cat flu is not usually serious or dangerous for a normal healthy cat - it is for kittens or for cats with underlying health issues. therefore it would be extreme to put a cat to sleep simply becasue it had cat flu.
  20. there's a, now abandonded and boarded up, shopping centre at a crossorads in banglampu. it was built with more floors than permitted, these were removed and the building left in its sad, slowly decomposing state. it begs the question how good are building inspectors at doing their job, or counting, if they dont notice that buildings have more floors than permitted?
  21. DDC Director-General Dr Opas Karnkawinpong said 257,200 doses of the US-made vaccine should arrive in the provinces no later than tomorrow, adding that a total of 700,000 doses had been distributed with the first batch of 442,800 doses delivered last Wednesday and Thursday. it's worrying that this is newsworthy. the uk, with similair poulation size, was vaccinating this number, and often considerably more, day after day. for months.
