House makes history, removes McCarthy as Speaker
HappyExpat57 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I'm genuinely surprised it took this long. BTW, @HanagumaI gave you "Thank you's" on both posts you put here. I often disagree with what you have to say, but to quote @JCauto "Appreciate you engaging in reasonable debate, by the way." -
Getting a teenager to learn English in Korat
HappyExpat57 replied to surreybloke's topic in Language School Courses
Find some English speaking TV shows. I've known several people who did this to supplement their lessons. -
I remember watching a video about 60 years ago how the sun sends enough energy straight at the earth to satisfy all of its energy needs. We still haven't let that sink in.

Immigration e-mails classed as junk
HappyExpat57 replied to foreverlomsak's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As previously posted, once you mark a sender as "Not Spam" it is then sent to your Inbox. Mine are always sent from [email protected] as I imagine are all Immigration emails. -

Any gawd who sends himself down to have himself tortured and murdered in a horrific fashion just to save creatures he made from sins he made up - how can such a madman be trusted?

I'll explain in small, easy to understand words - you are not an airport.
-
AseanNow isn't an airport, no need to announce arrivals/departures.

What happens when you get a jury duty summons in the mail?
HappyExpat57 replied to Khyron's topic in General Topics
By law you are supposed to reply and explain that you are living overseas (if you are only temporarily in Cali and soon return to Thailand). There is supposed to be a bench warrant for your arrest for failure to respond. I got jury summons delivered to my Cali address and I made sure I told them where I was, why I couldn't do my civic duty, and that they had received my correspondence. Having said that, my son in Washington state has ignored 5 jury summons and nothing has happened to him. Let your conscience be your guide. -

Speaker Kevin McCarthy's job on the line as shutdown looms
HappyExpat57 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
This man has no spine. He made a deal with devils and now the payment has come due. When it took 15 rounds of votes to get him into the speakership, that should have been enough of a clue that his would be a very short ride. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.- 18 replies

Trump liable for fraud, judge finds in New York civil case
HappyExpat57 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It's been very slow in coming, but it's finally unfolding before our very eyes. My personal belief is that Merrick Garland (and if I'm right may he rot in hell!) intentionally slow walked this whole thing in the hopes it would just die on the vine. Then the Jan 6 committee exposed all the crap that 45 and his evil minions did to try and overthrow the government, and now Giuliani, Meadows, etc. are getting squeezed. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Meadows flipping. THAT would put that corrupt man-baby in an orange jumpsuit. -

Well, that's not what the judge thinks about this case, and his judgement carries a WHOLE lot more weight than your vacuous postings.
