  1. Sorry I don't have much info for ya, but would you by any chance happen to have installed after market bull/roll bars on your rig here on the island? Been looking for a place but no luck (posted a seperate thread about it just now as well). Enjoy~~
  2. Just got a new Hilux '23 Revo 4x4 and looking for a place that can/will sell/install halfway decent bull/roll bars at normal non-farang prices? Anywhere on the island is ok. Tried going through the car shops at BigC parking lot, nearly peed myself laughing at their middleman markups. Prefer Hamer brand but open to anything.
  3. Unnecessary and sad, yes. "Tragic" to me is an overused word that appears in almost every headline in relation to accidents like this. In a way I've become dulled to these types of reports. When I first got here years ago I had a lot of empathy. Now.....after reading about incidents like this on almost a daily basis (never mind he ones that don't make the news) it provokes more of a judgemental "facepalm" reaction than anything else. Not proud of it but it just is what it is. I just focus on doing my best to prevent myself and/or my family from becoming victims of the local road lunacy. PS. In reference to the PN article, kids are allowed to ride m/c from age 15 - does that mean they can/must also (technically speaking) have a license at 15?
  4. If I use the app instead of the website, it the same username/password? (wonder if they'll discontinue the app as well....)
  5. Should be arrested just for owning/driving/working on that ugly, fruity azz green 'Murican low-tech GMC douchebag mobile that only retards and drug dealers drive.
  6. Fact: 1 car driver ran a red light Fact 2: car driver is legally allowed on the road, and accidents happen Fact 3: motobike girl is not allowed on road/unlicensed due to age. Helmet is a non-issue, can't turn a coconut into a strawberry. ???? A more interesting discussion would be, what if the car driver had died (let's just say he bumped his un-seatbelted head into the steering wheel and dies from an unlucky aneurism)......
  7. Some dog owners give/get "kisses" from their fleabags too......same same/not different.
  8. I too couldn't find the TConnect for TH so did the Playstore resert to TH and all is good....EXCEPT.... Since it asks the user to enter a date of registration + license plate, nd I am currently on red dealer plates.....TiTted until I get permanent plates.
  9. Just bought brand new Toyota in Pattaya a few days ago, but I live in Phuket (was my plan to make it a road trip back home). What I totally forgot about asking the dealer - what about the first service on it? Can I have this done at Toyota Phuket or is there some weird nonsensical system here that forces buyers to stick to their original dealership's service centers for the allotted (free) service intervals? I know the logical/obvious answer to this (555) but nothing surprises me here anymore, so..........? (yea, I know I could just ask the dealer but communicating with him isn't exactly easy and I'm sure I'll have the needed reply here within minutes of posting.) Thanx.
  10. Edit: I just realized there's a dedicated insurance section. Mods, please move. Sorry. Sorry, probably total noobs question but I can't find a sticky on the basics of the insurance system/products on this board..... So I bought my first car (new, at Toyota dealership) and they told me I'd get the first year of insurance for free. Ok, great, I heard this is standard procedure. But what exactly will this cover? If not that great, can I "upgrade" the dealer insurance by paying more for additional coverage? Or just find a different company altogether? In this case, what is the best/most reputable carrier? Is it the best of the best in the sense of maximum available coverage? Specifically, coverage in case of injury/death of other people. I don't care too much about my car nor my own medical as I have top tier int'l coverage for any situation. Or can I "upgrade" the dealer insurance by paying more for additional coverage? Thank folks.
  11. Just wanted to post an update: Thanks to the good advice from all you gents, a good time was had by all (555, I THINK - well, definitely by ME so that's all that really counts☺️) Haven't had a triple decker sammy since 2016 in Manila when I didn't quite need chemical intervention yet as was still in my early 40s. Can happily report that chemically aided session was just as good, especially since it was rawdog (yea yea, spare me the lecture...I smoke like a chimney, drink like a fish, take meds for high BP and am diabetic on top and come from genetics that generally don't make it to their mid 70s, so I'm not exactly worried about croaking from some STD). Ended up getting a 4-pill blister pack of "Bayer" ???? Levitra for 180 bt from a lady sitting at the entrance of the Areca hotel,/across from Luck Bar in that soi a 30 second walk from that crazy ass intersection at Buakao with the Subway/711 etc.
  12. Some people still, after years, fail to understand one simple fact - the corona virus is 0.15 microns in diameter, so..... But hey, for those who have come to love their chin diapers....not judging, because it doesn't hurt me and you provide a good chuckle (like when I see a kid with the Downs do or say something cute-silly).
  13. Thanks gents! If the pharmacies sell at the same price as street hawkers, am I "safer" buying from pharmacy? Or am I being overly paranoid? My street purchase experiences in BKK have always been good, as far as I can tell I've never been sold crap so I guess same applies in Patts? Thanks again, dudes.
  14. As the title suggests, I have a bit of an emergency. Currently in Pattaya and have a triple header unexpectedly scheduled for late tonight (hey, YOLO, right?), but that ain't gonna happen for this 50-yr-old pirate without some chemical intervention. In short, I'm looking for the typical blisterpacks (4 pills per pack) of: Kamagra or Caverta or Levitra In Bangkok I know where the reliable street dealers are but not familiar with Patty. Help a brother out, gents. I'm staying at the Hilton/Central, so pretty centrally located and can walk anywhere within reason to get them. PS. Not too concerned about a few baht more or less, but don't want to get ripped off either - are the prices are generally identical to Bangkok here, i.e. 200 bt/pack?
  15. 100 Hail Marys and a bowl of masala, Apu!
  16. See? Now you're getting it. Because that is GENERALLY true! ????
  17. Paying a normal/fair/competitive price for a beer in a bar is now considered LoSo, lol. Ok. Ya got me I guess.????
  18. Generalizations are called generalizations because they are generally true.☺️
  19. It's free here. In bars they always charge me 60 baht/beer to sit down and rant like a lunatic! Thank Jesus you're not in charge.
  20. How does one add him/herself to the organ donor database/system here, specifically in case of a fatal accident? Does this choice even exist? Entry on Thai driver license? In the US and a few other countries I've lived in I've always had it on my license (as well as a DNR directive in case of brain death). I'll assume that due to various nonsensical beliefs/faiths, organ donation is nowhere near as common here as in countries/cultures where the population is more scientifically educated? But still, surely there's a way? Or am I being a total dumbazz asking an obvious TiT question? PS. Asking for a friend only. I personally have no desire to donate here unless it's a direct living donation i.e. I have control over who gets what (no way I'd let any of my organs get transplanted into some near dead moron who just caused a fatal accident while drunk/excessive speeding and as a result of the crash needs a new whatever - I'd only donate to someone who is not a waste of air) .
  21. Just truthful criticism. You should hear me when I start ranting about the many nasty habits of members and ethnic groups within my own nationality... ????
  22. Rather racist comment, you must have a very low self esteem. If that's racist than I suggest you spend a few hours time locked up in a steel tube at 35k ft with 300 Indians (or just a normal non-ventilated aircon resto in, say, Bangalore or anywhere else in the country). I "did time" there before retiring. S-hole. Worst 2 yrs of my life in terms of overall quality of life (having maids/drivers etc doesn't mean a thing when you're in hell) but the package my company offered was simply too good to turn down. Not even joking, my 2yr stint in Lagos/Nigeria was like Switzerland in comparison, and Nigeria is one of the worst places on earth to be an expat. Better to be a racist than a truth-denying snowflake. Not sure what that has to do with self esteem as I'm obviously superior.????
