  1. Egypt won't even let them, or supplies cross their border. Both Egypt & Israel have blockaded all essential supplies to Gaza, as they control the entire border of Gaza. Some tidbits of info, for those that seem to not have a clue: "Gaza, is a narrow piece of land on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, bordered by Israel to the east and north, and Egypt to the southwest. With a population of 2 million, on some 365 square kilometers, Gaza, if considered a top-level political unit, ranks as the third most densely populated in the world. It is one of the two Palestinian territories, alongside the West Bank. Since 2007, the area has been governed by the political and militant Islamist group Hamas, and has been under blockade by both Israel and Egypt. Conditions in Gaza have led human rights organizations to label it "an open-air prison". The Gaza Strip initially emerged as an Egyptian-administrated territory after the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. Following the 1967 war the territory came under Israeli occupation. In the 1990s, as part of the Oslo Accords, the administration over most of the area was handed over to the Palestinian National Authority, alongside the existence of Israeli settlements in specific regions, which were evacuated in 2005. In 2006, Hamas won the last-held Palestinian legislative election, and started administering Gaza, and took full control the following year, when Israel and Egypt imposed a land, sea and air blockade, preventing the free flow of people and goods. The blockade has devastated Gaza's economy, and caused a nearly 50% poverty rate and one of the highest unemployment rates in the world. In 2018–2019, Gazan Palestinians organized widespread protests on the Israel–Gaza barrier, demanding Israel to end the blockade and address issues in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Most people in the Gaza Strip are descendants of refugees who fled or were expelled from the area that became Israel after the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. Around 600,000 Gazans live in Gaza's 8 refugee camps. Most Gazans are Sunni Muslims, and there is a Palestinian Christian minority. Gaza has an annual population growth rate of 2.91% (2014 est.), the 13th highest in the world, and is often referred to as overcrowded. Gaza suffers from shortages of water, electricity and medicines. The United Nations, as well as at least 19 human rights organizations, have urged Israel to lift its siege on Gaza, while a report by UNCTAD, prepared for the UN General Assembly and released on 25 November 2020, said that Gaza's economy was on the verge of collapse and that it was essential to lift the blockade." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_Strip
  2. No thought of Christians buying more McD's in support, more the thought of McD's in Muslim countries losing revenue. Reality for me, just gives me another reason not to support McD's. As not a fan of Israel's politics, expansion & treatment of Palestinians. Brits really shat the bed with that one, back in 1947. What could go wrong ? Balfour could of offered a chunk of the UK for them, but I guess y'all didn't want them either ... ????
  3. I can see H as a replacement for diesel, used by heavy vehicles; public trans, trains, long haul trucking (those still using diesel) Can't see any advantage for H to fuel family vehicles. Quite the contrary and will be hard to convince anyone to buy.
  4. Because blaming the govts, and institutions, puppeteers of the slanted economy for destroying the 'nuclear' family would be admitting guilt and taking responsibility. Creating hard economic times, when both parents have to work, and kids are raising themselves with no moral values instilled from responsible adults. If even 2 parents are around at all, as divorce rates skyrocket, many caused again by economic woes.
  5. Feel free to pick any of the other bias news sources, reporting the same thing: More bias news source repeating the same
  6. Bean counters weren't thinking to good with that one. Islam ... 1.9B followers Judaism ... 14.7M follower "McDonald’s subsidiaries take sides in Israel-Gaza war The fast-food chain’s Israeli franchise’s announcement of free meals for IDF soldiers drew boycott calls and protests Fast food giant McDonald’s Israeli franchise’s announcement of free meals for Israeli security forces triggered counter-donations from many of the chain’s Arab subsidiaries to the Palestinian cause on Saturday, posts on X (formerly Twitter) revealed." source Religion #s source
  7. Same with me ... oh well, patience is a virtue ???? I set cruise control @ 90kph when on the highway. If you're stuck behind me, you'll just have to way till I can get over & only if I can get back before I'm stuck behind slower traffic. Means most times, you're screwed for a few kms ... ????
  8. Have not, but can't imagine that making much difference in anything, unless using common sense weight loss habits/lifestyle along with it. Burn more then you eat & exercise. The simplest, most effective things never change. Simply adding a bit of protein, and you'll simply be just as hungry as you were before.
  9. Male any year, anywhere born. Dealing with monthly period, NO THANKS. Along with most men being total a-holes, AN posts as fine example of their opinion of women ... nah, who wants to deal with them.
  10. What, they can't afford ATs ? Only time and reason I bought a MT is because it was cheaper. Speed limits in TH, with few exceptions, 30-60-90kph. No need for a race car here, especially since roads aren't build for speed.
  11. Was at Kanchanburi last week, and already AQI was 75 (moderate), and PM2.5 more than 3X healthy level. Hills were a grey blur, unlike a few months earlier when air was clear. Rained overnight and helped the next day. Same driving up through Hua Hin area, and hills in distance were a blur. Pretty sad since only mid-October. Cleared up by the time we got back, as pictured in photo posted in 'Leaving BarStool' thread (Phetchaburi, just NW of Cha Am). People are delusional if thinking smog season doesn't start until after New Year's Day.
  12. Probably, especially from people who have never been. Only limited visits by myself, and liked it, and even considered retiring there. Bit too chilly though, but TBH, I'm not exactly a hot weather fan either. Easier to get cooler than it is warmer though. Can always go to pool or surf to cool off if wanting to get out of house & AC. Not an option if cold out. Did enjoy playing in the snow, first few days of a snowstorm, but that enough. Any place I need to plug my car into a heater, is too cold for me. Think W or E coast would be better choice than center, as the Arctic air is a bi-atch and bitter cold, sub -0- is tough to take, along with the wind chill factor. Free healthcare, if accessible would be a major plus though, if needed. Wife shouldn't have too much problem finding employment, and at a better salary, if wanting. Good Luck if you follow through.
  13. PP 22 years ago, and no real desire to return. CM (city) a few times, and again, no desire to return. Least favorite 'tourist' city and avoid when in the area. Not sure why, just turns me off, and regretted every visit there. Not a fan of cities, except Krung Thep. Been to most, main Muang centers, and avoid them now.
  14. The car itself will give you that info, and an easy calculation. After 1 yr, almost, our ZS battery has degraded about 0.5%, after shy of 20k kms. If that hold, over the 8 yr warranty, then all of 4% loss. If we continue to drive 20k kms a year, and that's highly doubtful. So the most negative degradation we can expect. Not bad at all considering the longevity of the battery bank, and should provide decades or driving. If the rest of the car lasts as long ????, or gets added to the solar system. Either works for us/wife. Many consider 2500 cycles to be a very conservative number:
  15. So true, though not a big fan of that thinking. Though SAIC & MG been putting out autos long enough, EVs, not till 2019, w/ZS, being 1st production EV. Gave that a pass, though not even considering, TBH, as not paying 1.2M for any 4 wheels. Just not car kind of guy. 2022 version came with a couple nice upgrades. Now having solar & govt incentives, so a no brainer at that time. 240k baht is damn good motivating incentive. Took a small hit selling the only 2 yr old ICE version, as I usually keep things for 125-150k kms. TBH, 949k is still a silly price for 4 wheels, in my car world, but ROI (hopefully) & operating cost, along with performance was well worth it. Seriously couldn't see myself going back to an ICEV.
  16. Guess most of us are already retired or soon to be. Oh well ... you youngins keep at it for a few more decades, paying for our retirement, and maybe, just maybe, the govt won't move the goal post on you, again, and there might even be something left in the till for y'all ... maybe ???? Suggestion, from one of the ol' guys ... don't plan on it, go self employed, and retire early. Trust me, it's a lot more fun ????
  17. SAIC has been making autos for decades. MGs since 2011, I think. EVs since 2017-2019/mass production, I think. That's good enough for me, especially when nobody else is offering much else, of what I want. Has worked out good for me ... YMMV From Wiki ... SAIC Motors "It is currently a Fortune Global 100 company, ranked 60 on the list.[when?] Including SGMW, it is also the third largest plug-in electric vehicle (BEV and PHEV) company and second largest BEV company in the world, with 10.5% and 13% global market share respectively in 2021, selling under brand names such as Wuling, Baojun, Maxus, MG, Roewe and Rising."
  18. And that has what to do with anything?
  19. Not sure about that, and same world wide, apply yourself, and you can accomplish anything. My Thai family & daughter are all doing quite well, but are not lay-abouts. Nuff said. Life is about choices. My daughter of course got assistance from me, but my wife's family, are doing quite well, without my help. Not from Hi-So background. 8 siblings and parents died when she was 4 or 5 yrs old, too young to even remember. So they struggled for many years.
