Most powerful guns (kick wise) I had were; 357 mag 8mm Mauser Toss up which would do more damage, the 8mm or .223 (Mini 14). Wouldn't want get hit by either. -
A damn tasty cheeseburger, washed down with a Snowy (beer), 490ml which I didn't finish. On the veranda, listening to the waterfall, watching the wife mow the lawn, with hedge clippers ... ????

I was referring to the other 'flying club', where that one last thrill, ends with a bang/thud, on the pavement below, while on holiday. Then all the AN dicks can theorize your LB partner through you off after the house & car were bought and paid for. -
How to get my money to Thailand
KhunLA replied to wijit's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
SS will ask you where you want your SS DD (direct deposit), simply give them your Thai BkkBank info. Very simple process, and no need to go through NY branch of BkkBank. I did it in TH, and as suggested, once account set up here, pass info bank gives you to SS department @ Manilla Embassy. Very easy to do. DD received first week of the month, usually on the 3rd or 4th of month, our time/TH. Thai & USA holidays don't interfere with DD. I would set up a Soc Sec online account while in the USA. May come in handy. As hard to do from TH. Your 1099 for tax purposed will be sent to address on file. Unless additional income, taxes shouldn't be an issue, especially since not a US citizen. Unless you still got something, generating income, going on in USA. -
How do they get 2.79k subscribers. Are their really that many idiots bored with their life. I didn't make past 1 minute. Another OMG .... everything is great YT'er. Probably find all the hidden gems ????

Who is older, your wife/girlfriend or you?
KhunLA replied to RamenRaven's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My partners have always been much younger than myself. 5-18 yrs in USA, 20 yrs +/- here/TH. Never dated anyone over 30 in the USA, not really by design, just the way it was. My daughter (Thai) likes the idea that her BF is younger than her. Chip off the ol' block. -
Yea, people in Isan eat it, surprise surprise.

The Scooter that thinks it's an Electric Superbike !
KhunLA replied to Social Media's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
As long as I can remember. Does anyone need to tell you petrol exhaust, benzene or diesel isn't healthy. Your nose know, and body reacts to it, more so with diesel. Diesel & home heating oil is about the same, and can actually be used to hold you over, if heating oil isn't available, or a Q to be delivered (one of those crap jobs I had). That coats the flue of a chimney with cancer causing creosote. So yea, I've know that since I was a chimney sweep, back in the late 70s. -
I didn't say it wasn't part of 'isan cruisine', but I wouldn't call it 'Isan food'. Grilled chicken didn't originate in Isan, or served up in any way special. The fact that it's sold in Isan, doesn't designate it as a type of chicken in TH or anywhere else. I buy grilled chicken here/PKK, and nobody calls it Isan chicken. It's simply 'grilled chicken', same everywhere in TH. Not like 'Hat Yai Chicken' ... deep fried & heavy on the garlic.
-
No, and you proved my point, Isan chicken is just that, grilled chicken, and IMHO, lacking any distinct 'Isan flavor' It's simply grilled chicken, delicious, as any grilled chicken is, as one of the hardest things to screw up. But doesn't taste any different than any other grilled chicken I've eaten worldwide, and if not, one of the blandest. As you point out, other areas have different spices they use, and all better than just a basic grilled chicken.
-
Brining, and marinating chicken, and even the sugar water some add, isn't top secret. It's done basically the same, worldwide. You really need to get out more.
-
I've found grilled chicken everywhere in TH, and the rest of the world I've visited. Silly to say it's 'Isaan food'. Even green papaya salad is a stretch to call it 'isaan food', except for the over use of chilis & maybe pla ra. Guess you've never been to the Caribbean, and I've had papaya salad on numerous islands, and Yucatan peninsula.

I'm leaning toward 'user error' ... ... detached battery ? From the link: ... "Firefighters confirmed sparks spread from a detached lithium-ion battery from a luxury car to four nearby cars parked at the airport about 8:30pm." ... "It is unclear why the battery was removed from the car prior to the fire." And this tidbit ???? ... "Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW said that while battery fires were not uncommon, electric vehicles were not a concern for authorities.

Yes, that's been proven/direct link for a long time.... IMHO Diesel really should be only used for commercial vehicles, if at all. -
Laab ... NO, But Gai Yaang (grilled chicken, not issan food, as served worldwide), and Som Tam I enjoy, if too not spicy (Som Tam Thai), and I travel w/cayenne pepper for my som tam & spicy fruit salad som tam.

The difficulty of avoiding sugar in Thailand.
KhunLA replied to Felton Jarvis's topic in Eastern Thailand
Another informative, on topic, and why some sugars should definitely be avoided, or at best, in moderation. And that white sugar with equal parts fructose/glucose, may be a healthier choice, again in moderation, and in amounts you'll burn off, or it will turn to fat, and you will have a whole new problem. @6:10 of vid, gets past all the science & history, breaks down the important part, IMHO. Though never hurts to watch the whole vid, especially if having kids with asthma.
