I think you need to revisit Makro, depending where you live. The ones in Hua Hin & Pranburi, are quite different and well stock with western (processed (no thanks) selection, for the obvious reason. Along with more selection of some things I might actually buy. Not so much where we are/PKK, but the Lotus's here doesn't have anything else that Makro has, that would entice me to shop there. Only time I go in Lotus's is if I'm at Swensen's (in their mall), and I need something. Which they usually don't have, or overpriced, and I'll just pick up tomorrow at Makro, as I drive by everyday. Not much our Makro doesn't have, that I need.

It's great, I'm loving it. Took a while to get use to, and judge the distances of regen slowing to stopping. Got it down to a science and make driving on a hilly, windy road a treat. You're still in total control. I don't think the brakes will need replacing till well over 100k or even 200k kms ????

Why finding alien life in Universe is now 'only a matter of time'

Pretty sure some already found us, and smartly, don't want to socialize. No sense finding if we can travel to. -
Rand Paul: Withdraw Ukraine money if you want to avoid shutdown
KhunLA replied to Social Media's topic in World News
No, I don't. I guess you missed borrowing to finance the Gulf wars, 10 ish year, and bank/market bailout. Thank you Bush & Obama. 5T to 20T $$$$, I don't thing the tax cuts would have made up the amount. Sending with no way to pay. Maybe you missed this: -

They already pay an unfair percentage of income, and account for the majority of income tax. -

More what ifs ... how about living in the now. Pre 2000, debt was 5T .... thanks to corrupt politicians ... unnecessary gulf wars ... unnecessary broker/bank bail outs ... middle east conflicts ... invade & occupy sovereign countries for NO reason ... now silly UA/RU conflict. None benefitting the USA. debt @ 31T and still want to give away, what they don't have. When you want to talk about the present, how we got here (foreign aid) and stop with past or future what if BS, let me know. Have a nice day -

21st Century ... and who said anything about isolation? Just stop giving away what you don't have or can provide for your own. Spend those trillions an USA citizens, not foreign countries. After all, it is 'their money'. -

Don't have to be wealthy, just able to feed & energize yourself, which few countries can. Especially the feed part. Not a problem for the USA. Along with can obviously defend itself. -

Are these the highest solar panels in the world?
KhunLA replied to Muhendis's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Thanks ... I get bored at times, but not that bored. That said, it is a great feeling, being independent of the grid and petrol stations with the EV. I do smile too much at times, and arm gets sore patting myself on the back. To the anti EV folks: yes I know, I'm still using fossil fuel (govt's fault, not mine) when O&A to charge the EV. Save it for someone your trolling might work on. -
This almost falls under free advertising, as every click is money for you. Especially since you are already monetized. Although expats or experienced travelers won't be impressed with you vid. Either been there or been done ... no hidden gems to be found. That said, my 1st impression, hated it, but didn't give it a chance. Now love it, although after a few days, happy to leave, and explore elsewhere. A noob will either hate it or love it, on first visit. YT'er of course, will love it, no matter .... $$$$$$$ to be made. I'll help you out though, open in another tab and let it play out, as don't have to watch. Yea, I'm that kind of guy. Good Luck.

Fear mongering of the next WW (3-4-5) that will never happen. Next one, if ever, will be the last one. MSM programming/brainwashing is working to perfection. Hard to believe people still fall for it. The rich get richer, and zombies get poorer ???? -

฿1M a year (not needed) for 20 yrs and he's 80+yrs old. Could easily live on half that. Barring stupidity or major health issue. Keep 3M or more as an oops fund, and should be fine. -

All I know is, when needed, our inverter puts out max 8.8kWh If & when needed, on hot, sunny days ???? (18 X 540w = 9.72kW) https://www.suntech-power.com/wp-content/uploads/download/product-specification/EN_Ultra_V_STP550S_C72_Pmh+.pdf -
They don't charge any fee. Only if use out of province, though TBH, not sure they even do that any more. The fee you are hearing about, 220 baht, is if using an international CC/debit card at their ATMs.

Yes, I've tried a wide range of instant coffee, and none compare to fresh brewed. Some are drinkable, but I wouldn't call them coffee. Prefer Moccona Espresso, as a desert 'Cappuccino', considering it's a 3/1, and who added sugar & creamer to their Espresso. Buddy Dean & Super are OK also, but don't call the coffee. Nescafe ... all versions, is just vile. Never had their pods, but if they can't get the instant right, I'm not up for experimenting.

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?
KhunLA replied to Goat's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Isan is a big place and many factors would affect anyone's smile. Also that person's lifestyle if chosen or not, for what ever reason. If living in one of the cities, without transport or extra pocket money, then not the best place to be. Though most places wouldn't be, worldwide. Unless happy to sit on the barstool all day, then any place is heaven. Just outside the main, enjoying both worlds, tranquil countryside, with all the comforts of nearby city, <30 mins away, works for many. Did for me, only 20 mins away, and was quite tolerable, and a love/hate relationship, as I get bored easily. So need transport to explore, locally and points further. A hobby, or friends, or simply some responsibilities/routine (school runs) help, with things to do. One thing I couldn't deal with, and had little control over was the air pollution, and 4-6 months a year, it was bad @ Udon Thani. I could see the hills of 10 kms away from 2nd floor of house only half the year. Same if at top level parking @ Central Plaza, and nothing but a grey fog half the year. AQI #s of 100+, damn annoying, besides not the healthiest. Indoors, no prob, with purifiers, but boring. Landscape wise, it is a flat plateau, so unless living on the edge, not much to look at. Either lovely green fields of rice or sugar, half the year, or a dust bowl the other half. As always ... Rainy Season Rocks -

Stated more than a few times, I would cut all foreign aid, and bring all military back to US soil & waters. Stop playing world police force & corporate security. Billion $$$ can pay for their own security. 31+ Trillion $$$ debt, can't pay own bills, and giving sh!t away. Can't fix stupid -
Rand Paul: Withdraw Ukraine money if you want to avoid shutdown
KhunLA replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Various news reports, and simple common sense. The Pentagon can't even keep track of in house finances,(trillions of $$$ unaccounted for) let alone foreign gifts. To think otherwise is ignorant. These are IMHO from my reading. Feel free to research Ms Google. You'll find more than you want.
