  1. Time to think about renewing EV car insurance. (expires 30 Oct) Got a quote from cousin, ฿22+k, for wrong model (X vs our D), and 10M coverage. Write off value ฿900k Need to ask present carrier, but I think quoted 10.8k back in May (or typo on previous post), May ? a bit early, And stopped them there, as too early to think about. So didn't ask specs of policy. Will probably go with Roojai. Write off value ฿840k. Highest (our fault) deductible of 5k, knocked ฿1400+ off the price, and 1M per person. Repair @ MG or contracted shop. Considering nobody has hit me in over 20+ years, and anything else has been minor dings (my fault), almost not worth putting on insurance, but back then, claims didn't matter. Nobody locally drives fast enough to do much damage to the car, especially to the battery pack. If we keep with 1/3 driving on highways, doubtful, then even safer, as rarely cross traffic. Only danger spot locally is crossing Hwy #4/Phetkasem Rd, and that's at a traffic signal. I drive the speed limit, with extreme Spidey senses engaged. Don't drive in Krung Thep when there.
  2. Will probably stay 'undiscovered' for quite some time, as you have to self entertain once there, like most of TH. No adult nightlife catering to international travelers of course. Quite like NST, and just came back last week from there. Have a nice coastal road with viewpoints along the Gulf. But it's still the Gulf, and more often than not, good for only looking at, not swimming in. KiriWong is nice streamside village in the hills. and downtown isn't too hectic, during the week, with plenty of good food. Special trip, nah really, but if in the neighborhood, or making a loop out of it, definitely worth popping in.
  3. That post is over 2 yrs old, and that member hasn't been active for over 1 year.
  4. 'legal guardian' ... which would be the parents of, till age 20. The 20 yr can be the guardian, IF, mother, assuming ex, allows it, and would image that needs to be done with judication, or what ever they do here/TH. So back to square 1 with the 17 yr old. How many houses do you plan on buying ???? You could buy 2 in the 20 yr old's name, and then transfer one to the 17 yr old, when reaching 20 yrs old. Or simply rent, or buy a condo. Far safer since you actually have to ask. Good Luck.
  5. The 20 yr old ... yes, as considered an adult, and signature is legally binding. 17 yr old would still need a guardian for contracts ... I think.
  6. STOP THE PRESSES ... ... damn, no scandal. I weighed and had to drink all the beer in the house last night. I think the 10th one was 1 gram off. Moving on ... ????
  7. Just poor/weigh 620ml of water into your measuring vessel, take note of the level, while on the scale, then simple do the same with a beer. See what level it comes up to. It should match same level and weight, or damn close. Geez people, we're not talking high volumes/weight here, Temp/RH density or SG isn't going to be that much on such a small amount.
  8. Do as suggested, weigh 620gr of water, and pour in your meauring vessel, than see if beer comes up to same level.
  9. 620ml water = 620gr 620ml beer = ~620gr "One litre of beer corresponds to about one kilogram" Difference is negligible, and not worth noting.
  10. Next time weigh the beer. As water and beer are so close in weight, as are different beers that the difference would be miniscule. Nothing near 3%, or even 1%. So round down the difference, and that's what they're cheating you, and you're probably being very generous.
  11. The air would be much nicer, and the city much quieter. It would actually be enjoyable knocking around the city on foot.
  12. Depends on subject matter. Definitely not a Go Pro. Really isn't much better than a good phone camera, (G Pixel or iPhone), which you would actually use a lot more. I have interchangeable lens camera bodies & different lens. I don't like changing lens, so I have 3 camera bodies for my 3 most used lenses. https://www.flickr.com/photos/56481061@N02/ Many times, the phone works just fine or better, depending on subject matter & conditions. I'm a Sony fan, and even one of my drone cameras has a Sony sensor.
  13. to the title... ... tried that, didn't work, I'm still here ????
  14. Not sure about mental health disorder, unless you let it affect your mental health. More a confusion, want to be, disorder. Just make up your mind, and admit to yourself, you're either gay or bisexual. It would save a lot of alphabet use. A male is never going to be a female, biologically. A female is never going to be a male, biologically. Cosmetically, and drug therapy, you may look like one, after spending too much money, but it's your body & money. Here's a thought, and maybe a chuckle: me at bar, trans woman makes a pass at me: .... me ... 'I'm gay, not interested in women' ... him/her ... 'one night with me, and you'll never go back to men'???? Let that sink in, take as long as you need.
  15. Again ... totally irrelevant, and we all know that. Keep banging on, but don't expect another reply. Read this again slowly: We Have No Control Over Govt Stupidity. Just our our personally source of energy .... SOLAR Now tell me how solar panels and ESSs use fossil fuel to be produced, and pollute in the process of manufacturing & transport. I saved you the trouble...have a nice day.
  16. THANKS, very interesting, and may explain quite a bit. Will check out the link. My prostate hasn't interfered with anything, just size and constant urge to P. Apparently expanded outward of urethra, instead of restricting flow, and more pressure against bladder. A good thing I guess, but annoying.
  17. Yea, me, as I couldn't leave because of the kid I was raising. Or I would not have been there. People worldwide live in areas other than their 1st, 2nd 3rd, 10th choice, when following their heart, or money. Do you think I really wanted to work at Newark or Detroit airport. Or even Philly airport ? Hell no ... but that's where the money was at the time. First moved to Udon Thani because GF/Wife's family lived there. Realize that was a mistake pretty fast, wife part, and divorced quite fast, but stayed to raise the wee one. She kept me busy, and 3 months a year O&A was enough, to not go insane, along with local outings, as much as possible. Get along the edge of the plateau, and it's quite interesting. Staying in the metro area, NO, boring as hell, except an afternoon lunch outing, or dinner after school pick up before heading back to the village's tranquility. Which I even lived outside of that, and always do. Once out of high school, we (new wife) were gone almost instantly. Kid off to Uni. I need to be near moving water, river or beach, and some nice hills, but most importantly, less congestion. But not away from everything. PKK is nice mix of everything.
  18. THANKS ???? Cipro has the same 'tendon' warnings ????
  19. As stated many times, we, EV owners have no control over gov't stupidity. Most of my energy for our EV comes from solar. My reply to the post wasn't about CM, energy source, but simply correcting misinformation, of time needed to travel, and easy of charging along the way. But feel free to interject irrelevant info into the conversation as you see fit. It's irrelevant, so yes, I ignore it, actually, didn't even notice the CM reference ???? edit: apparently I didn't ignore it, as you didn't post it, in this thread, as I just reread you postings, and not mention of coal.
  20. Don't think I stated otherwise, and stated, many times, EV's aren't for everyone. But please don't tell us what they can't do, without knowing what they can do. As the poster I replied attempted. I simply pointed out his error in thinking. Trying to educate, not convert, although it would be nice, and appreciated. And if you really want to be picky, some of that energy along the UT-BKK route, might even be coming from 'renewables', along with most from nat. gas.
  21. Pretty sure they are not using diesel to generate electric. Probably natural gas, as the predominant fuel used in TH. Never said EV user are saving the planet, just not contributing to the local vehicle exhaust that has a direct link to respiratory health. I bought my EV strictly for savings & performance, as did most. But feel free to bang on about nothing ... again, and again, and again.
  22. Karon Beach is the worst, that I've experienced. I had trouble getting out of 'waist' high water one time. It was just pulling on me, quite surprisingly, and my legs are probably my most developed muscles (years of cycling & track), or used to be ???? I never went back in the surf again on that beach ???? I see Patong beach still had red flags out yesterday, so guessing they were out on Karon. You can't fix stupid.
  23. I'd kill the first monkey I'd see at my house. I chase the pigeons with my drones. Local monkeys surfside have become a nuisance already. They destroyed one of the gov't buildings, to the point, they abandoned it and worked elsewhere. https://thairesidents.com/local/monkeys-take-over-prachuap-khiri-khan-town-hall/
  24. And ... care to share ? We know, you're not a doc and no lawsuit to follow, as due diligence to follow any thoughts, as always. But clue us in ... please. Cipro gives me a headache, so not sure if more intense if a double dose taken.. But if results seen in first week, then I'd be game to take for a month. Get an ultrasound and see if prostate was shrinking.
  25. That would be nice, and back to where it was when I got here/2000. Hmm...what new toys do I want ????
