  1. Private sales, FB Marketplace, or 'local' FB pages set up to sell things. Wife sold our last house on FB, started the page herself, for home & RE sales, managed the listings & spam ????. Plenty of others do the same. Any house of decent value, will usually never show up on a Real Estate site for sale, as they will buy it themselves, or know someone who will for cash, and never make it on sites to be offered. Being a licensed RE agent in USA, and the reason I became one, get first crack at listings. Nothing very good ever got listed the MLS, or lasted a week if it did. Best value, and has worked for us twice, find your lot, and contract the build yourself. Takes work, patience, and a bit of knowledge about construction.
  2. It's a mute subject, since your "Juristic building manager" is allowing them to charge. Options: ... bring it up at the next meeting ... MOVE or sell Crying on the forum won't change anything.
  3. Not necessarily, as many products, USA included, are priced what the local market will allow, or get away with charging. Some pricing due to competition, some pricing, simply because they can. Some pricing, if not low, they can't sell it no matter the competition or lack of. And was the USA brand, actually made in, and shipped from the USA, as most products are not. USA corporations have factories all around the world. Even reading the labels aren't completely clear all the times.

    Snakes in garden

.... yea right ???? it doesn't end well for venomous snakes at my house/garden. And don't suggest to call a profession to relocate, some place safe for all. That's impossible. I'm not moving a deadly snake to someone else's living area. If there's a road to take to drop off somewhere. That means there are people in the area. Let alone, trying to catch it. That's asking to get bit. Cobras, Kraits, Vipers nah. Golden Tree snakes get a pass, and welcome at the house ???? I know too many people that lost their dogs to snakes.
  5. Not sure why people say that ... 'but it's in Thai' I have auto translate, and if that doesn't click in, just right click any test, and click 'translate to English', and usually works.
  6. Yea ... something like, and very feasible 8 yr /180k kms warranty X 2 = 16 yrs Petrol prices stay at today's rate (35, actually 36 now) and 20k kms a year, sounds about right. 1 mill saved, and 360k kms (225k miles) for battery & electric motors isn't much of a stretch, for EV or an ICE. All things equal, other maintenance costs about the same, minus anything related to a petrol drivetrain. Neither having much value after that, though if battery still holding 50% capacity, that's 23kWh to be added to a solar system. Another plus. If you don't rack up that many kms, that's fine also, as having transport for 16 yrs, and again, both EV & ICE won't have much market value, aside from spare car, or parts. As stated on different thread, we put on about 20k a year now, or I have since living in TH. Wife won't after I'm gone, maybe 5-10k a year at the most. No school or work commute, and everything is within 5 kms of the house now. Would think any EV with a 50kWh battery would give about the same ROI, whether <600k or 950k (MG ZS) to buy new. All the MGs here now, are spec'd and rated about the same.
  7. Ditto ... PEA ฿3k-3.5k ... now ฿26 PTT ... ฿3K ... now -0-
  8. Actually have one of the better Cheesecakes here, the lighter blue seal, stating 'Baked' Cheesecake ???? Partial to their Black Forest also????
  9. LAZ fan, easier to negotiate the site, with better info & reviews, usually. Shopee is fine also, but don't use much.
  10. Flavorless, and only a conveyance of the sauces you put on it. Salmon for us. Just for that reason. 7X the price is well worth it ???? OP ... was thinking steaming, but since you tried boiling, not much difference. I stopped buying wet brined bacon for the same reason.
  11. I have my MG wall charger on PlugShare site for anyone to use, for 'free' if they need to. As another EV owning member does, giving me the idea to follow suit. If checking PlugShare site for residential CS, there's more than a few. Some people try to make the world a better place ... ... others ? ... nuff said
  12. Yea, my E-MB is probably much larger than the scooters mentioned in the OP. 3000w motor & 72v50Ah battery ... so all of 3.6kWh, IF 0-100% charged. So all of ฿18 baht for the week, if I was to charge on the grid. So if 10 of those, highly doubtful, then all of ฿180 baht X 4 weeks = ฿720 divided by how many units ... OMF'gG. Most scooters are 48v12Ah = 600w per full charge and would take 6 of them, to match mine.
  13. A decent build will handle that. We can actually take it down to zero, and always single digits when we want. Quite easy enough to do. Don't know why we have screens, as rarely use. Smog season vs damp rainy season. Not many days see the air inside not 'conditioned'. Too smoggy or too humid.
  14. That a bit relative to the rest of your diet. Especially if satisfying that sweet tooth daily. I certainly didn't eat cheesecake every day, as that would be boring. Switch off to brownies, pineapple pie, chocolate chip cookies, apple turnover/danish, pandan buns, ice cream, dessert roti, all during the week ????
  15. Inside the house of course, Fresh Air year round. If you don't have, you should have air purifiers. Real time:
  16. ฿550k / $16k USD, for new, and is as cheap as any entry level ICE, so don't really see price as a reason not to own. Especially if just knocking around town, and putting 10k kms a year on it. that's 10-20 yrs of life, for these batteries. After I'm dead, not any time soon I hope, but within 10 yrs, then I really can't see the wife putting 5k kms on the car in a year. If I make 10 yrs, we'll probably put about 150k kms on it and that's not even the amount covered by warranty (180k), so at worse, should still have 70-80% capacity. More than enough for her to putt around town for the next 10 yrs. Some YT vids of longer term owners reporting 2-10% degrading batteries over 5-10 yrs. Impressive. Other of course, that abuse at high speeds, long distance driving & super fast charging, will kill their batteries quicker.
  17. Sadly, the only ones I see burning with any large smoke plumes, are the municipal workers, at the park, PWA, PEA. PWA has a huge burn pit, locally, maintaining their landscaped grounds. Park has more than a few burn areas, almost weekly. Oh course, ourselves & neighbor will contribute a wee bit. Very little for us, since we don't buy a whole lot of processed food, along with using most things that able to, for compost. Though will be making an almost smokeless burn barrel in the future. Work in progress.
  18. This dermatologist does use Liquid Nitrogen ... and anyone happens to be in the need or in the area/passing thru. A little dab will do you, for those small spots. IF not having access to a clinic with LN, then go buy some Swensen's take away ice cream, as they will usually pack it in dry ice. Self administer (with tweezers) some dry ice to a small skin growth, till very uncomfortable (burnng ????), and that will do the same thing. I've done that a few times with success. You got like 7 layers of skin, so freezing/burning a few won't hurt you, permanently, or scar you. You won't be able to hold it there that long to hurt yourself, unless into a bit of S&M.

    Snakes in garden

If they weren't venomous, and paranoid about anyone close, thinking we're out to get them, then their day would end a little bit better when we encounter them. Along with not wanting to bite/kill or try to eat my dog.
  20. GreenHouse is done, door added, wrapped in chicken & anti bug netting. So almost completely bug, bird & squirrel protected.....for now. Only figs plant in GH now. Need to add beefsteak tomatoes, or any, as BS's don't really do well here, but we'll give it try...again. Green/red peppers, and what ever else is expensive at the market. On Topic, as always ... may have to run an electric line over, as lot is on the other side of our dead end stone soi. Cheaper than it's own small solar system, though would like to do, just for hell of it. Like a challenge, nah, too lazy.
  21. Hills I referred to, are westward and 10 kms away, and can't even see today. Here's that lovely surfside view, and the islands are only 2 kms away. Welcome to Thailand ... Enjoy the Fresh Air
  22. Explains a lot of health / weight issues over there. You can easily eat 5 or more 'air/dough' donuts. Eat 2 cake/batter donuts (also fried) and you're full. More volume & 'nutrition, less sugar, and probably the same amount of oil absorbed, maybe a slight bit more when cooked. Healthier & tastier donut ... IMO Something like Krispy Kreme donuts here, addicting, and can polish off a whole box during the day, if no will power ... ????
  23. Do people really need to be told, fried (air) donuts aren't the healthiest choice. Especially when palm oil is probably used. Air instead of cake donuts, which are quite rare here. Think the (cake) chocolate/coconut/nut donuts at Dunkin, but much better. Never ate 'air' donuts in the USA.
  24. Maybe just to let people know what the worst scenario would cost, IF, the whole pack needed replacing, instead of just a few cells being swapped out. Or simply a marketing ploy, striding for the top spot held by CATL. "Recent sales figures point to BYD overtaking LG Energy Solution in market share the coming months or years." Anyone needing investment suggestions: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/the-top-10-ev-battery-manufacturers-in-2022/#:~:text=Currently%2C Chinese companies make up,come from the Chinese company. Also good info for the 2nd hand market, for those skeptical about buying. They now know what it would cost to make the 2nd hand EV. almost like new, and expect another 10 yrs from it. Next up would be a universal fit, to replace their batteries in cars that didn't originally have. Instead of replacing your CATL bank, use the newer BYD Blade bank. https://medium.com/predict/byds-blade-battery-has-changed-the-ev-game-ff3cf5d1d4c7#:~:text=But the Blade Battery currently costs %24136 per kWh.
