  1. Oh contraire, I know their history oh too well, and why I'd never buy one, unless it was made by China.
  2. I think you are forgetting who controls the news and flow of information. Using your thought, the 'people in control of the news', tell people a plane was flown into the Pentagon, with some of the most protected airspace in USA, with more than a few active CCTVs going 24/7, and not one photo or vid of the event. Let that one sink in. Take as much time as you need. Freedom of the Press / information ... that's funny.
  3. Myself & other AN member who are MG owners have. Myself with no problem at all.
  4. Only 8 times. Myself, probably 20-25 times, and 4 or 5 times in the last 3 yrs. On topic ... Patts, and I really can't think of a reason to go there, or anywhere east of Krung Thep along the Gulf.
  5. Flew into Phuket 3 times, and simply rented a car, which turned out cheaper in the long run, for the 24 hrs of use. Along with having it to explore during that time. I refuse to take a taxi that doesn't use the meter.
  6. Hopefully the Thai tourist would vote with their feet if presented a higher price. Would I not support, enter a place in home country (USA) because of foreigner dual pricing ? ... NO, as doesn't concern me.
  7. In case you missed it ... apparently many did, the increases don't apply to Nationa Parks. Getting in NPs @ Thai price is all a bit irrelevant, whether successful or not.
  8. Quality, value, bang for baht, excellent cust. serv. Added plus, if owning an EV, using their Super Charger network. Free instant coffee, (sometimes a coffee machine), water, clean toilets and sugar fill snacks in waiting room, while charging and using free internet. #1 reason, it bugs the hell out of @transam ????
  9. Had to be an EV ... what else could it be ?
  10. It's nice to know my $24.8k USD was spent on a new vehicle that won't leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere. If having a mechanical oops, the 24 hr roadside assistance is available, though I've never needed. Never needed with previous new $22k vehicle. No new car purchased has left me stranded, though I can't say the same about 2nd hand vehicles I've owned. Rare, but did happen.
  11. I read somewhere IT did create Adam in it's image. Maybe Adam was non-binary and never came out. A Super Genius, thinking outside the box. And an Atheist ... ????
  12. Do you enjoy paying a premium price to support USA, UK, EU, JP ? Did you join/create new username, just to reply to this thread, but I'll ask anyway.
  13. Following the western world's lead I see. I can't remember when most news wasn't fake. It has simply gotten worse, since monopoly ownership regulations were eliminated. Nothing but Op-Ed echo boxes. Calling any of it news is a stretch.
  14. I'm stocked up, all of 2 beers (490ml). Took 3 with me on a 10 day O&A, and opened 1, didn't finish it. 2 remaining beers probably won't get opened, unless I make a pizza or something else worthy of pairing with it. Maybe wash down a doobie, ever rarer. I came here for the Tax Free, easy investment opportunities & healthcare. Not the bars & hookers. 'What I need to know' ... not much, except avoid hwy#4 on first & last day of holiday, direction dependent. Whatever your vice ... Stock Up & ENJOY
  15. Simple Gsearch would give you a ballpark idea of the increases: The revised entrance fees for historical sites are as follows: Historical parks for Thai nationals: 20 baht per person, for foreign nationals: 120-200 baht (previously 100 baht). Archeological sites or significant places for Thai nationals: 10-20 baht per person, for foreign nationals: 80-120 baht (previously 50-100 baht). As for admission fees to national museums, the new rates are: Small national museums for Thai nationals: 10 baht per person, for foreign nationals: 80 baht (previously 50 baht). Medium-sized national museums for Thai nationals: 10-20 baht per person, for foreign nationals: 120 baht (previously 50-100 baht). Large national museums for Thai nationals: 20-30 baht per person, for foreign nationals: 200 baht (previously 100-150 baht). For highly visited national museums, such as the National Museum in Bangkok, the following new rates apply to Thai nationals: 30 baht per person and for foreign nationals: 240 baht (previously 200 baht). In addition, four other registered historic sites and national museums that previously charged fees for the rental of foreign language audio guides will now eliminate the fee. These sites are: Historical Park – Sdok Kok Thanom, Khok Sung District, Sakaeo Wat Kudi Dao, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. Nakhon Nayok National Museum, Mueang Nakhon Nayok District, Nakhon Nayok. Surin National Museum, Mueang Surin District, Surin. The government spokesperson, Tipanan Sirichana stated that “entrance fees for Thai nationals will remain unchanged to promote learning, preserve cultural heritage, and foster a sense of national identity across all generations without increasing the financial burden of tourism on Thai citizens.” Source: KhaoSod
  16. Nobody knows the cause of that one either. Feel free to speculate.
  17. That's what reuters has stated from the beginning. The article I read. 'cause-unknown' No surprises there. To the anti EV'ers, seems every fire is EV caused, until proved differently. Considering who on AN is stating it was caused by an EV ... nuff said.
  18. What country hasn't been responsible for immoral act/behavior ? Should the citizens be banned from entry/travel to other countries. What tourist would be left to visit anywhere ? People living in glass houses should be throwing stones. Where was the outrage and moral backbone of countries, when these countries invaded Iraq or supported the war. Killing & displacing how many ? From wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_invasion_of_Iraq
  19. If you say so .... sure you would know ????
  20. @transam Unlike the constant maintenance of an ICEV; oil changes, tune-up, going to and Q'ing up at the petrol station every week of so to buy petrol. Spend spend spend. Added savings for the EV owner ???? Before you repeat that one again:
  21. And no comment about the ฿42.7k saved every year for the EV owners who have to pay PEA/MEA to charge. Of course we get to save the whole ฿54.2k a year, using EXCESS solar.
  22. Chiming in ... contracted house to build, 2020, plan to add solar when done, to meet the house's electrical needs. Wanting to be off grid, so went big. AT THE SAME TIME ... bought a new 2020 MG ZS ICE, obviously EV wasn't in the game plan, or we would not have bought new ICEV, simply kept the running good Mazda 2 we had at the time. 2 yrs later, MG ZS EV upgraded + Govt incentive (฿240k) + having more solar than we can use .... NO BRAINER, get the EV. Didn't need to upgrade the solar to accommodate the EV's needs. No additional cost to charge the EV, ROI remains the same.
